Pathetic service. I went there for fever treatment. They are given 4 paracetamol tablet. They didn't check my body temperature and blood pressure also. I asked them to check blood pressure. Dr. Said they don't have blood pressure checking monitor. Should be better to go medical store and take some paracetamol other wise to private hospital.

Government Medical College Thrissur, established in 1982 centre of medical education in Kerala, India. Kerala University of Health Sciences began functioning in the campus in 2009. Spread over an area of more than 250 acres (100 ha), it is located in the serene surroundings of Mulagunnathukavu (M.G. Kavu) 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) away from Thrissur. College was selected as the best medical college in Swasthya conference 2021, Ministry of Health, Govt. Of KeralaThe college was inaugurated on 1 April 1982 by the Governor of Kerala, Jyothi Vencatachellum, who had also laid the foundation stone for the proposed college building at Mulagunnathukavu on 30 April 1982. Thrissur Medical College had its humble beginning at Mannuthy. By March 1983, the institution had moved to its permanent site at Mulamgunnathukavu, where the old buildings of the T.B. sanatorium were modified to accommodate the pre-clinical and the para-clinical departments as well as the administrative block. The clinical departments started functioning on 22 October 1983 in the erstwhile District Hospital & Maternity Hospital buildings in Thrissur City. On 1 April 1985, the entire District Hospital was taken over. Construction of the 300 bedded Medical College Chest Hospital at Mulamgunnathukavu was completed in 1987. The primary health centre of Tholur was taken over by the college in 1986, for regular training of medical students in community and preventive care. Ollur and Erumappetty primary health centres were also made available for training purposes. Construction of the 400-bed new medical college hospital was started in 1995.

Good Doctors, Nursing staff and allied staff. They are providing the best of care despite Human resource limitations. The daily OP number is almost Comparable to Govt MCH Thrissur upto 2000 to 2500 daily eventhough major departments like General medicine and casualty has severe shortage of Doctors.

Pathetic services with this hospital, Worst part is u don't have toilets for visitors or supporting people who waits at bystanders waiting area. Near to rotary club dialysis room You have to paid for toilets with a rate of 3 and 5 rupees. And out side you can hardly find toilets or don't have any toilets. There were no dust bins in this area, hence people litter garbage. Dust bin free area is strongly not recommended as being hospital basic requirements of having a dustbins and toilets. Here security and other supporting staff is more than a police or army very aggressive. And hats of the pharmacy, partical items you don't find here. In the name of govt hospital pvt medical outlets are reping good money. You can hardly find staff after 4pm except in casualty toilets in OP are locked or under maintenance. U have one toilet each both genders for this entire out patient. Because of this most of the people spit, urinates in the compound walls and other places. And mostly it's not NABHA certificated I belive there are no signs kept. I urge hospital authorities to add signages in English as I could see that more north Indian labour are also utilizing services and are helpless to find proper signages. When entire country and state is taking steps for eridicating open defection. I believe this hospital is encouraging the opposite by locking and not providing enough toilets and dustbins. Shame! Few other pathetic situations are Hospital staff does not help by bringing wheel chairs when the patient arrives, attender has to search and take care. There is no adjustable commode or chair commode or bed pan for patient who are completely bed ridden. Specially in surgical ward.pathetic condition of wheel chairs. Out side breez is far most powerful that the fans fitted within wards. And nursing staff in a few wards like surgical has no proper training on medications. My mother has brought medicine from an outside pharmacy when it was not available in the hospital. It was completely a different molecule, composition that was given. I was shocked to know that even nursing or jr. Doctor has not identified this error unless I have suspended and googled it. Lot many such issues like such. Administrator should provide complaints or suggestion box to understand such gaps.

Good hospital in the public sector. Clean. Well maintained. Cordial staff. Experienced doctors. But severe staff shortage present. Large crowd in op and casualty. Government is not posting new doctors or other staff. Long queue infront of lab and pharmacy. Biopsy result not available. Have to give outside for results. An increase in staff will resolve most of the problems here.

As there is a myth come truth in India, that if the government authorities work Better the country will develop. Its so true in case of this hospital. As this hospital is the nest of poor people, the goverment staffs from the security to medical superintendent should train by the higher authority to behave properly to the public. So rude and egoistic staffs here. Eating poor peoples tax and behaving them like a worm. When will be government staffs come in a straight line???

Such a pathetic service from the staff and doctor. My mother had severe pain in the right side of her stomach and we rushed to Thrissur district hospital believing we will get the right service from 4 am to 8 am they continued with some IV and 2 injections that were mear pain killers.. No proper diagnose was done by the doctor and the surprising factor was that there was only one doctor who was the intern. when I enquired the watchman told there is only this doctor and no other doctors are present. Being the district hospital casualty.,this the service we receive. If you have money, go to private hospital because they will save your dear ones. Shame on this administration of the hospital when the state is growing to development these people do ask like this.

Terrible place. Dr. Manoj, General Surgeon could definitely do a better job at what he's doing. He's not willing to listen to the patient properly. How can he prescribe meds if he doesn't know what exactly the patients problem is? Never going there again.
