A small irrigation project situated in Thrissur. One of the best place to visit with family and friends. Boating facility available but when we visited this place in summer season, there are no boating. No entrance fee. There is a children park available in the entrance side.

Poomala is a untouched scenic location in Thrissur.Travellers can enjoy the boat rides at Poomala Boat House.Poomala also offers horse rides round the Dam.Children have a lovely garden to play Poomala dam is a small dam that has a peaceful atmosphere. This place can't be listed as a tourist destination. You can add this place to your 'trip list', if you are passing through this route. As the number of visiters are less, you can spend time with friends peacefully. And you can enjoy in flowing water if the water flowing force is less, but that area is pretty slippery and should be careful

Nice walking path. Comfortable for evening relaxation. Have a man-made waterfall near. If available enjoy boating. Good natural atmosphere. Recommended for one day trip from Thrissur and can connect nearby destinations. Like cheppara rock............ Etc #thrissur #tourism

Really great view with a path like hidden(not exactly 😅) behind which is way awesome with a small waterfall which is very great and the ambience is really nurturing. The dam is also great tourist attraction with boating facilities but right during this pandemic boating has been shut down. This place is really nice to hangout with friends and great place for family picnic have small refreshment stall where you can have refreshment drinks and snacks along with your friends and family. Now in more detail about the dam the dam is not that too big or broad or large its a small dam compared to the other Dams in kerala but this place has a nice ambience especially behind the dam if you visit this dam you must get down behind the dam there is a path a step towards the backside and there is a great waterfall don't expect a large one its small but really beautiful its like step by step waterfall and you can climb it and there is lake which is very awesome.

One of the peaceful location in and around Thrissur I am visiting this area for the very first time. Again thanks to my Cycling activity which had brought me here This zone is quite away from the main road and is an idealistic spot for enjoying the lake. I could spot few cyclists and also a team rehearsing for Boxing here who seemed to be quite regulars.

Gift of nature. But don't utrilised by the authorities properly. There was a kids park but didn't maintained properly. Boating facility is available - seems to be good.

Take a walk around the water body or relax in the park. I chose to walk. Not exactly the image of a dam that i had in mind but the place was nice..

It's a small dam and we can walk on the Dam wall without any restrictions. Quiet place to relax. Beautiful sight when the dam is full. We can see many college students skipping classes, sitting here with their friends. No eateries or proper parking or other facilities are available. We can easily park the vehicles on the roadside.

A small dam , not well maintained for tourism.

Go if you wish to visit a dam. Other than an artificial water path created, the place is not maintained well nor a great spot. Also the poomala park is pathetic considering its present state.

It's really calm and quiet place to spend time with friends or family. Not much crowded. Just 5 km from highway. There is a dam with its reservoir. A small dam and refreshment area is situated in the bank of reservoir. There is a small waterfall near the dam...it's safe and fun...

Go only if it isnt sunny. No shades. Other than that a good place to chill.

You could just enjoy the flow of water, when you're visiting during rains.

You can visit here in the evening time and enjoy the cool breeze. It's a small dam. And you can walk over the dam and enjoy the scenic beauty.

Don't expect too much. A small dam with a reservoir. Boating available. One or two small tea shops are there. Just walk around the reservoir is a very good thing to do and also boating.

Smaller reservoir than Peechi but equally picturesque. Less visitors so it is a good time to visit now. Cool draft of wind while walk over the gates and the view is simply worth the drive to this place. It's a short drive from Thrissur..30 mins and you are there before kids get restless in the car 😀.

Good atmosphere and calm peace over there.. Also the nearby small waterfalls makes the place very much amazing and refreshing.. I purely enjoy the view and mostly the waterfalls overloaded with good vibes 🥀✨..

Nice view, roads leading to the Dam are very steep, but it was worth.

It was a small water reserver, but the place makes me relaxed and happy.
