For an icon of Kodava heritage, the staff and the authority are not exhibiting enough pride or ownership in maintaining this unique monument in a good condition. Despite visiting at mid day, only one out of three monuments were open and staff were too busy chatting amongst themselves in littered surroundings, ignoring enquiries from interested visitors.

Linga Rajendra II or Linga Raja II was the ruler of Kodagu Kingdom (r.1811-1820). He renovated Madikeri Fort's Palace between 1812 and 1814. He was succeeded by his son Chikka Vira Rajendra in 1820. This biography of a member of an Indian royal house is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.

The positive thing is that there is no entrance fee to be paid......The negative thing is that we cant actually see the tombs since the rooms in which they are located are locked up... The garden around the tomb is maintained well..

Pictures say it all.. It is exquisite spot with rich history. This place was an unexpected surprise. I was surprised that they don't have entry tickets. But it is worth the visit if you have inclination towards history and sculptures.

It has a good garden but not much to see other than this. Location is nice and the view too. Have a glance when you visit Coorg. Give it a try.

Very pleasant place..car parking lot, children's play ground, garden and a big pathway to walk around.. You can feel breezing fresh air, mist and fog ( most of the time ) passing through you...early morning visit was / is amazing ..A must visit place situated inside the town...2 minutes walking distance from Hana Coorg Home Stay, 94835 33987 or 88613 22374.

Old tomb of a local king. Interesting place for people with interest in local history. Nicely laidout garden helps people to spend quality time with kids. Toilet facility is missing.

It's nice and calm place. It's more like a park. People are walking, children are playing. We didn't get to see inside the tomb. I don't know if people are allowed to see. But it's really small.

A Good Place to visit if you are touring the places in madikeri. This place is located within the city limits. Has a Well maintained park but no time schedule is maintained here by the watchman to open the doors. Play area for children has been set up here.

(Translated by Google) The Historical Memorial: Situated in the picturesque hill station of Madikeri town, this place is a historical monument. King Veerarajendra's wife, Mahadevamma, is one of the rulers of the Haleri dynasty who ruled the land. On the left is a quarry of royal priesthoods built in 1834. Moreover, the tombstones of the fallen army commander Badinda Bopu and his son Badinda Somaiah, who died in battle with Tipu Sultan, can also be seen. The chords built in the Indosarcenic style have a rare architecture. The stone carvings here are also impressive. The building features the main dome and a small dome at the four corners. The window is fitted with five chandelier rods.
