Must visit place for breakfast/lunch/tea/dinner. The restaurant serves fresh taste of authentic Kerala traditional cusine. We had meals and tried duck roast, nattu kozhi curry, bullet prawns. Nattu kozhi curry was one of my fav, literally had the softest country chicken yet. Ample of seating, very friendly staff. Parking available roadside.

One of the best restaurants along the MC road. You get locally sourced (naadan) chicken here which is from their own farm. There are no beef dishes available as of now. Mutton is also available. I tried their Chicken roast, Appam, Chicken curry, Kappa, baby chicken fry and porotta. The chicken roast have bigger pieces of chicken and comes with a thick gravy. The chicken curry is having small pieces of chicken and the gravy is not so spicy. It has a mild sweetness of the shallots. Appam was soft in the center and crispy around the edges. Their staffs are courteous and there is ample amount of space available for parking and dining.

Do you want to taste the authentic kerala flavours, come here. Here they serve you the great examples of what we used to eat from our grandma's cooking style. The flavours are balanced and spices are well perfected too, especially their mutton chaap and naadan chicken perattu. Everything tastes good and gives the feel of sumptuous. They have ample space to occupy large families and travellers. Staffs are polite and have good vibe to serve you well. Price seems normal, you can eat a lot for reasonable price, also they provide exceptional quantity for what we are paying.

Just blazing in the small town area of kilimanoor, Vazhiyorakkada has been a culinary relief for us nomads constantly shuttling along the MC road. They've got some interesting local concoctions cooked to perfection. The naadan kozhi (home-grown chickens), duck, prawns, fish, beef and many more servings are prepared with a twist at the restaurant. Before lockdown, i remember the shelves stocked up on imported chocolates like Twix, Mars, Snickers, bounty and more. Their choice of icecream is from Merriboy. Flaws- Their dishes are all prepared prior to arrival. So don't expect a really out-of-the oven hot food. But not too late either. Moderately fresh. Even the Appams and Parathas are cooked continuously in bulk and not after placing the order. So, that too is served moderately hot. Nonetheless, it has been a successful venture for quite a long time.

Our shop is located at an easily accessible location by the side of MC Road near Kilimanoor on the way to Trivandrum City. vazhiyorakkada have been serving meals on naadan banana leaf for the past 18 years of there service and have not compromised it even for a single day. It is one tradition they never try to compromise.

It was after all the reviews from youtube I planned to have a stop over there on the way to trivandrum. Since I already had breakfast, I just planned to have tea (metre chaya) and snacks which was highlighted in most videos. Snacks were not available in the morning, but the tea was really great and refreshing and thanks. While returning from Trivandrum in the evening, I planned again to have a tea and snacks. The tea was real flop. I did not ask for any speciality. There was more water and less milk and it was not at all good and not recommended. THis is what I felt as it was not consistent on the same day. Will try to visit again to update. So please be consistent.

People inside the city avoid this hotel under any cost.In the 90's it was one of the popular vegetarian hotel in kollam city and was famous for big poori masala, masala dosa .At that time the ground level and the first floor got dining area so much rush and so harder to get a seat,now nobody is interested except these nostalgic persons.I will not recommend this hotel for you.It's in the heart of kollam city somebody will take over this hotel and make it prosperous just wait for that day.

Vazhiyorakkada, is a highly rated restaurant in the MC Road near kilimanoor. Easy to recognize in normal traffic with parking space available nearby. This is a restaurant which serves traditional food and according to them they don't serve Broiler chicken, cattle meat and they don't even use packet milk. So, those who like the above mentioned varieties, do check-in. In addition, they serve food on banana leaves and the dining areas are arranged like Cabin like setting. The tables weren't clean as expected and the food can be considered only as a passable one. I expected much more considering the social media reviews I saw. Earlier charm is gone. Writing this review on jun 17th 2023 visit for food take away. (Could be my 5th visit in the last 4 years) 1 They started off well initially but could not maintain the quality and taste. 2. A very stinking smell all around due to a canal crossing in front of the shop. Which felt very annoying 3. I feel that almost all waiters are a bit overacting to just get good tips at the end. That's just my feeling. I had 3 times the same feeling 4. Nadan kozhy tender fry was ok, the rest of the Currys like duck roast (the pepper was too hot to handle ), chicken roast was oily with hard meat and even got chicken skin pieces in it , was disappointing overall. Not going to visit again.

A great non veg food destination for the travellers who travel in Trivandrum Kottayam road. We have tried fish vattichathu, fish fry and mutton. The meals was decent. Pricing also reasonable. Parking can be found in the roadside just opposite to the hotel. I would definitely recommend this place while we are travelling on this road for lunch. Cleanliness is is 5/10.

Not as per expectations. Had heard a lot about this place, but did not find it that great. Had breakfast. 1.) Puttu was just ok. Slightly sticky. Mid way the meal, they ran out of puttu, so could not order more. 2.) Some appams were undercooked at center. 3.) Duck curry was ok but meat was hard. 4.) Tea was not very hot. Overall service was also not that great. It was very slow. My advice: Go once with low expectations. You will be able to say "I have been there". But I don't think it is worth a revisit.

The best restaurant in Thiruvananthapuram for trying traditional Kerala cuisine. Their non vegetarian dishes (country chicken, duck, fish varieties) and vegetarian dishes are equally good! Kerala meals is with side dishes which are exactly like homemade food. They use their own poultry for the non vegetarian dishes. No beef/pork/mutton. I have seen the growth of this place from a restaurant without a name board to today’s photo spot location which maintains the quality of food and service.

The place has recently re-opened as the Covid-19 restrictions in the state are getting eased. It was raining heavily, however thanks to plenty of road side parking the ingress and egress in and out of the restaurant was convenient. In addition to normal seating halls, there are hut like spaces in offering, and that was very good. Service was quick and commendable. Food was also good for the money you pay. If you are using the MC road for your travel, this place is highly recommended. Also, this is the only branch for the restaurant, so better avoid other smaller restaurants with same name.
