Nice... Neat and tidy railway station

A small but decent , rushless railway station which is nearer to thrissur railway station.Almost all basic food , transport facilities available outside the railway station.There is only stop for passenger trains and only some Express / super fast trains.As there is no rush you can easily take a ticket without waiting.Thrissur railway station is the next station from here which is very close , as you can reach there in 5mins.

Well maintained, clean and calm station. Amenities are limited. Though passenger trains have stops, express trains hardly stops here. I would definitely recommend this place for railfanning.

Great clean railway station. You have get trains to the South(I meant Trivandrum) from here than Thrissur because some trains are starting from guruvayur and you are more likely to get in the train and be seated when you choose this station if you can't go to guruvayur.

Small station, situated within thrissur city, hustle free ticket booking centre if u go offline ticket booking. Booking only till 8p.m.New renovated ticket counters. No ques, no crowds. If u are going to northern part of thrissur city, its better to opt this station.No parking facilities.

Visited yesterday to pick my daughter. I am a regular passenger from this station at2005 to 2008 to Tirur for attending Bank office. There is drastic improvement of this station with new building for station office, garden settings, new seats for passenger. The only draw back of this station is there is no convenient foot over bridge.

Punkunnam is an good locality, Central located with all amenities and famous Vadakanathar Temples, Thiruvambadi temple and Para merkavu Temple. This locality is besides world famous Thrissur Pooram and famous Guruvayur Sri Krishna temple within 25 km are some of the highlights.

Very small station next to Thrissur. Most of the trains dont stop here. That's why not a busy station. Very clean surroundings. No announcements for information. Very good seats arranged by private participation.

Punkunnam is a small station located in a quiet residential locality in Thrissur. This is a great option for office goers and others who can avoid travel to TCR to board trains. Also, this is a great transit point for trains to Guruvayoor in case your connecting train stops here. Absence of a shelter is a bit of a disadvantage, but this is a boon as the charm of the station is well preserved. With the recent renovation, the station has got concrete platforms on both sides, a new booking office, a rest area (Vishram Kendra) and steps towards Paturaikkal The station has a small kiosk, but post COVID, this remains closed. Further, the washrooms are locked too. This is an inconvenience. Swaraj round is just 1.5 Kms from here and Guruvayoor is 26Km...

When I visited.... Noooooo crowded. Well cleaned and some plants were posted in pots. It's a small railway station 🚂 🚉 .

A small station inside the THRISSUR city. Only a few trains stop here. There are 2 platforms. Please check the train timetable before you travel, whether the train halt here. Some shops are there outside. One can park comfortably the two wheeler; few four wheelers also can be parked. There is a level crossing nearby. Avoid that road, if you are in a hurry to go somewhere. Sometimes the gates are closed for 15 minutes for trains to cross. There are benches on the platforms where one can sit and relax in the mornings and evenings. Few elderly people can be seen walking in the evenings. Less crowded most of the time.

A small but well maintained Railway station 2km away from Thrissur on SHORANUR route. It's very clean and beautification done in cooperation with a private builder. The trains Guruvayur turn left from here. The distance to Guruvayur is 21km from here. All the train s to Guruvayur stop here including express es.
