It's very beautiful place. You must visit this place if you are going to Dalhousie. The way to the lake is breath taking. The mountains are so alluring. Less crowd and no issues for parking your vehicle. Restrooms were clean. Food available on different stalls was tasty. You should try speed boat ride if you love adventure sports. They even allow it on sharing basis n can do bargain too if you've got the skills. In love with this place. ❤❤

Road from Banikhet to Chamera lake is in bad condition. Good views can be enjoyed while crossing Chamera lake dam. No fees @ Dam's entry / exit. Be polite with Dam security personal & obey speed limit while crossing Dam. Lake's shore was not clean in monsoon season. Boat rides were over-priced !!

one of beautiful lake in Dalhousie. This is a artificial lake created by Chamera Dam. This is perfect place who love's peaceful amidst nature's beauty. This is 62 kms distance from Dalhousie. You should talk your driver about visit of this lake. You can enjoy speed & motor boat riding here. I enjoyed 30 minutes boat riding. Costing is bit of high, But I recommend to riding. This place is less crowded.

This is a must visit place if you are visiting Dalhousie. Chamera lake and Chamera dam are situated approx 35 km from Dalhousie. Cab will coat approx 2000 INR. You can not and should not click photographs on Dam due to security reasons. View of lake from top is magnificent. Ask your cab driver to take a break and click some pics from top. You can enjoy the speed boat ride in the lake. Speed boat ride will coat you 500 INR per head for a trip of 8 minutes and 5 kilometres.

It's a good place for a boating activity.Speed boat is recommended although it's for 8 minutes & cost you 500 rs it will still be worth it.The water remains cold even during summer and you can enjoy the waves of the wind is blowing. There are multiple snack points available nearby where you can enjoy maggi and juice.

This lake is one of the best & finest lake I’ve ever been… it was very less populated… it was such a dreamy day.. I spend 30min on the motor boat ride.. there was a time when I could see the river all around me… it was a wonderful experience .. the crew is very protective and cooperative .. the use to get slow when they see people changing seats or taking pictures.. it gives you an island feeling 🫰🏻

This place is pretty scenic and very less crowded. You can enjoy the boat ride here. They have multiple options for the boat ride starting from normal motor boat to speed boat. If you have an extra day to spare in Dalhousie you should visit this place. Alternatively, if you are visiting in actual winter, and the Khajier road is closed due to snow, you may ask your driver to take a small diversion through the lake, while visiting Khajier.

Chamera Dam is built over the Ravi River and Chamera Lake was formed as a result of this dam. It is a very beautiful turquoise-green lake, close to Dalhousie (around 27 kilometers). Boating activities are available, but they are costly. If you do not want to go boating, you can stop your vehicle on the side of the lake and enjoy the scenery. It is less crowded compared to other tourist spots in Dalhousie.

Best offbeat destination one could have asked for. Boat ride is very soothing with breathtaking views. Can be enjoyed by people of all age groups. They charges us 500 rs for a 30 min ride which was justified.

Boating but costly @ 500PP. Although view wise okayish, a waterfall also exists nearby. Ask your cab driver for that. It is one of the three main points when u visit dalhousie. U can also go there by bus depending upon your budget. Board on bus going to sundla from dalhousie/banikhet. Bring your goggles, it’s a must during speed boating otherwise ur eyes get 🥹 teary 😂. Also you can have a view from top of the whole chamera lake. There’s a view point on banikhet-chamba highway for that.

Its little far from Dalhousie. Though the lake is very big. The only thing to do there is boating. There are options of speed boat and motor boat. Honestly going that far just for boating was not worth for me. Anyways its individuals preference. Rest a very beautiful place to take photos and sit and relax.

Chamera Lake, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, offers a serene retreat for nature lovers. The pristine blue waters, surrounded by lush greenery and snow-capped mountains, create a mesmerizing view. Boating on the lake is a tranquil experience, allowing visitors to soak in the breathtaking scenery. The well-maintained surroundings and the cool mountain air enhance the overall charm. However, limited facilities and accommodations nearby might be a consideration for those seeking a more developed tourist infrastructure. Overall, Chamera Lake is a tranquil haven for those seeking a peaceful escape amidst nature's beauty.

Very beautiful lake formed because of the dam on the river Ravi. Located about 40 minutes from Dalhousie and the route to the lake is very scenic. We went in January 1st week and couldn’t take the speedboat as it was raining but went in the covered motorboat. Was a fun experience albeit marred by the rain.

One of best spot in Chamba, if you're in Dalhousie you should go to Chamera lake too. People were really lenient and humble. This place is amazing for 15-20 min chill out on motor boat ride.

An early morning bike ride along the lake and the wind carrying stones that hit like bullet on helmet before the tunnel area. Had a unique experience :-)

It's a lake formed due to a dam constructed over the river Ravi . There is a boating point available a little ahead of the dam . There is a washroom available there at 5 rupees per person which is moderately clean .

Gorgeous lake with turquoise color and clear water. One can get picturesque views on the way to the lake. The lake also has some water activities like speed boating, motor boating, etc. which have a booking counter at the boating point. Although there is a long wait time in the peak season for the boating turn, but it is worth doing. You can have some snacks, fruits, juice and food outside the boating point. Overall such a beautiful place just about 30 km away from Dalhousie. One can easily hire a taxi from Dalhousie to reach this lake. On the way, there are some amazing view points and Rock Garden as well.

As we neared the base of the hills, the view of the dam and the lake from our car was awesome. The dam is built across the Ravi river. The water that is blocked by the dam forms the Chamera lake which has a bluish green hue. The lake has not much aquatic life and is ideal for water sports and boating. 2 options are: Speed boat which is Rs.500 pp and lasts for 10 mins and Motor boat is Rs.400 pp and the ride takes around 30 mins. The former is always a better option.

Stunningly clean lake with scenic views on the route to Chamba and at an an hours drive from Dalhousie. It’s managed well and is neat - all the food counters are outside so as to not dirty the place. The highlight is a boat ride which I felt was a bit expensive but nevertheless went with it and thoroughly enjoyed. It costed 400 per person for the big boat (40-50 capacity and 30 minute ride) and 500 per person for the speed boat (10-12 capacity and 8 minute ride).
