Anthony
should
be
up
there
with
Trinidad
legends
such
as
Brian
Charles
Lara.
What
the
man
doesn’t
know
about
his
wonderful
island
home
is
not
worth
knowing.
I
was
dropped
in
it
by
another
tour
company
just
90
minutes
before
my
planned
trip
to
Maracas
Bay.
Thankfully
I
had
met
Anthony
the
night
before
on
his
food
tour
(also
excellent
by
the
way),
so
I
dropped
him
a
message
on
the
off
chance
he
could
help
me
out.
The
man
was
there
an
hour
later
and
what
followed
was
one
of
the
best
days
I’ve
had
on
my
travels
anywhere
in
the
world.
I
told
Anthony
what
the
other
company
had
planned
for
the
tour;
he
blew
that
itinerary
out
of
the
water!
Instead
of
a
drive
and
drop
at
Maracas,
I
got
to
visit
3
more
stunning
beaches,
spend
some
time
swimming
in
the
Caribbean
and
actually
learn
about
where
I
was.
Anthony
stopped
off
along
the
way
at
a
couple
of
look
out
points
so
I
could
get
the
obligatory
selfies,
before
crushing
into
Maracas
for
a
look
around.
With
the
weather
closing
in,
he
suggested
we
head
further
along
the
coast
to
Las
Cuevas.
What
a
place!
A
long
crescent
of
golden
sand,
clam
crystal
waters
and
amazing
vibes.
I’ve
been
to
beaches
all
over
the
world
from
Australia
to
The
Maldives,
but
this
is
my
favourite.
There’s
just
something
about
the
place
that’s
special.
After
a
swim,
pelican
watching
and
some
time
to
chill
on
the
sand,
talking
about
the
immense
potential
for
tourism
in
Trinidad,
Anthony
promised
to
take
me
further
along
the
north
coast
to
beaches
that
tourists
don’t
normally
get
to
see.
We
topped
at
L’anse
Paoua
beach
-
a
tiny
little
bay
that
is
well
and
truly
off
the
tourist
trail,
but
somewhere
that
is
picture
postcard
Caribbean…
it
even
has
the
horizontal
palm
tree!
Having
done
three
beaches,
Anthony
then
decided
it
was
worth
having
a
change
of
scenery,
so
he
took
me
to
the
end
of
the
road,
where
the
rainforest
becomes
too
dense
and
the
road
just
stops.
We
stood
and
chilled
on
a
bridge
overlooking
the
river
as
it
opened
into
the
sea,
with
barbecuing
locals
and
the
sounds
of
the
forest
as
company.
With
the
driver
acting
as
the
pivot
point,
we
headed
back
towards
Maracas,
with
Anthony
talking
passionately
about
his
love
for
all
things
food
and
the
stories
that
come
with
it.
True
to
form,
he
threw
in
another
surprise
on
the
way,
stopping
at
Yara
beach
-
a
place
mainly
used
by
fisherman
that
slowly
reveals
itself
with
a
winding
walk
down
a
steep
path.
We
were
the
only
ones
on
the
beach…
something
of
a
theme
for
the
day.
With
the
sun
slowly
beginning
to
set,
we
decided
to
drag
ourselves
off
the
deserted
beach
and
head
into
Maracas.
After
an
epic
day
of
beach
hopping
along
the
north
coast,
we
ended
it
with
a
Bake
and
Shark
and
a
cold
beer
overlooking
the
beach,
continuing
to
talk
at
about
the
intoxicating
Trini
culture
and
the
values
of
equality
and
harmony
that
symbolise
the
island.
The
company
was
excellent,
the
beaches
stunning
and
the
food
delicious.
This
was
as
close
to
a
perfect
day
as
you
could
wish
for.
Forget
your
run
of
the
mill
‘Maracas
Bay
Trip’
-
they’re
not
even
in
the
same
league
as
Anthony’s
trip.
If
you
want
to
experience
Trinidad’s
beauty,
history,
culture
and
food,
then
there’s
nobody
better
than
Anthony
to
guide
you.
Give
his
a
shout,
you
won’t
regret
it!
