The Gentle Yogi Studio is THE most welcoming, inclusive and joyous studio in Trinidad and Tobago. Never have I felt more happy and excited to workout and grow my practice through a wide array of classes on offer. Their virtual space is also well thought out, flexible and easy to use all the way from Colombia!

I've been using their online library of classes and videos since the pandemic started. I love being able to practice consistently with the option to be part of a supportive community. I appreciate the variety in videos as well as the challenges and workshops that are useful to get out of that comfort zone. Highly recommend.

Always happy to take a class with these amazing teachers! They offer so much at this studio. Not just yoga for all levels , but also Barre class and all the props and materials you'll need yoga mats, socks, blocks and straps. I've even done their Vision board workshop which helped me clarify my plans for the future. Classes are great and the teachers are truly knowledgeable.

I joined this studio for mental health reasons and a poor coping mechanism I had in treating with professional and personal stress factors in 2019. At the end of the first month of practice, my mood, patience and overall health had visibly improved. The Instructors- The instructors, a dynamic duo I would say of sisters, are very helpful, with a beautiful aura , as much needed in this field. You'll instantly click and the wider group, you'd never feel 'left out'. The Class- The classes are such a warm and friendly break from the hassle of life in general and it's good to be reminded (at least for an hour) you have given your best, worthy and strong. Classes range from slow pace to advance with a lot of healthy laughter! The location is a super bonus as its out of the City and easily accessible. Can't wait to rejoin the actual classes as they've moved online. Highly recommended (any both men and women)

I truly love working with my TGY folks. Their classes are so relaxing and are a great way to mindfully start or end your day. I love their instructional styles and the flow of the classes. I was even exposed to using very helpful yoga props during class to help in my stretching and flexibility. I will highly recommend their classes to anyone wishing to take a yoga class at any level of practice. They currently have online classes and tutorials which can be accessed either through their website or youtube channel. You won't be disappointed.

I went to TGY for about two years before moving abroad, and one of the silver linings of the pandemic has been that their classes are now available online and I'm able to do them now too! Even before lockdown, I hadn't been able to find a yoga studio that I liked as much, and I'm SO glad to have this option. Both online and offline, there's a range of types of classes available, from gentle flows and mediation to more active classes and even barre exercise, as well as shorter videos and longer ones. No matter how much time I have to get on my mat or how active I want to be that day, I can find something suitable. Aleisha and Ayanna always bring the positive vibes and energy while also keeping it real. They're careful to make sure you stay within movements that are comfortable for you, and they also give adaptations for those with concerns like back or wrist issues or any other conditions to be mindful of, to make sure everyone can practice safely and be comfortable. The studio community is so nice and welcoming and inclusive, regardless of age, body size, religion, gender or how advanced your practice is. I highly recommend The Gentle Yogi studio!

I did a zoom yoga class hosted by The Gentle Yogi Studio recently. It was awesome! Aleisha & Ayanna did a great job! They made me feel welcomed and very comfortable. Aleisha did a great job of facilitating the practice. Ayanna did an awesome job of adjusting us to make sure we were in the right positions and to avoid injury! Both were very professional and I enjoyed this class so much! Would 100% recommend to everyone whether you regularly practice yoga or if you're just a beginner!

The Gentle Yogi Studio and their lovely team have made such an impact in my life it's beyond words. When I started doing yoga it was simply as an activity, fast forward and it's now a lifestyle, and lifesaver. Yoga has helped with my anxiety, mental health, and currently with my chronic asthma. My daily yoga practice with this team transcends from simple instructions to crafting a connection of support, understanding and care even in its current virtual space. If you're looking for a fun, energetic, supportive and friendly space to start you're yoga journey look no further ....they will make you laugh, dance and even cry sometimes which is good....but most of all they would help you change your life. And they don't worry if you're new and don't know where to start...they've got you covered with all the equipment you'll need from mats, block, socks, to even my lifesaving wellness shots. The Gentle Yogi Studio is a wellness centre like no other in Trinidad and Tobago.

Aleisha and Ayanna bring their years of knowledge and practice to an individualized and wholistic approach to teaching classes, providing support and mentoring yogis at any point along the path. They understand how yoga can create balance and challenge for the student and when each should be applied. They are good teachers and excellent humans.

The Gentle Yogi was introduced to me by a friend because I wanted to try yoga but more importantly I wanted somewhere in the east. So I visited the studio and my yoga journey began . Practicing yoga with these ladies has been an utmost joy . It have been a combination of proper instruction and technique, firm encouragement , reeeeeeelaxation and lots of fun/ vibes. I may come for the yoga but I stay ( or rather return repeatedly) because of Ayanna and Aleisha.

After a bit of a hiatus, I dove back into practicing with The Gentle Yogi by signing up for the 2022 GY strong challenge. Whatever nerves and doubts I had in myself, were soon eased by the positive and encouraging atmosphere set by Aleisha and Ayanna. Slowly but steadily, the classes transformed my physical body as well as my mental space. At the end of January, I felt stronger and happier than I've been in years and I'm so excited to continue with my journey. I'm grateful for the opportunity for live classes and also enjoy using the online library at my own convenience.

After struggling with a persistent limp from a hip injury, I started private yoga sessions with Ayanna at The Gentle Yogi in late 2022. Initially skeptical, I soon recognized the benefits of yoga as Ayanna introduced me to various asanas and breathing techniques. My regular running and hiking routine had led to neglect of flexibility, resulting in tight hamstrings and limited hip mobility. Yoga, however, began to address these issues, and my limp started to improve. Ayanna's patient guidance and the use of props like blocks helped me adapt and progress in my practice, improving my posture along the way. Since May 2023, I've been a regular at The Gentle Yogi studio on Southern Main Road, Curepe. Ayanna, her sister Aleisha, and the rest of the team ensure each class is fresh and challenging, making it a welcome part of my routine. Yoga has boosted my strength, flexibility, and posture, while also reducing stress, improving balance, and enhancing sleep quality. Though still a beginner, I'm heartened by my progress. The Gentle Yogi is not just a yoga studio—it's a place for guided growth and self-discovery. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a well-rounded approach to wellness.

As a relatively new yogi, I look forward to attending each and every yoga class at Gentle Yogi. In every yoga class, both Ayanna and Aleisha, exude a warm and welcoming aura, making me feel at ease every single class. I wholeheartedly recommend Gentle Yogi to both seasoned yogis and those looking to embark on a yoga journey.

Thank you @thegentleyogi, for an amazing first class with Asha. As a busy mom of a 2 year old and a 2 month old, I almost cancelled class at the last minute (lack of sleep, anxiety, feeling guilty for taking time for self care.. need I say more?) I was nervous about inflexibility and lack of regular exercise after having 2 pregnancies in 2 years. However, I must say, this was the best hour spent in a very long time. I left class feeling rejuvenated, relaxed and in the best mood to head back home to my family. I am thankful to The Gentle Yogi for a wonderfully welcoming and comfortable start to my first yoga experience.

I have been a member of The Gentle Yogi since 2017 and practicing yoga on and off since 1996. What I love about Aleisha and Ayanna as yoga teachers is they ascribe to yoga as a way of life, not just the physical practice but the mental and spiritual aspects. In addition to helping me with managing accident related back injuries; through their guidance they have helped me develop the ability to deal with non physical stresses and challenges. They take the time to ensure you understand the asanas, which muscles to engage, how to breathe; providing you with the proper foundation to build your practice. The range of classes as well is amazing; meditation to gentle flow to yin yang to warrior flow to barre.

What I love about the Gentle Yogi is the warmth and positivity I feel every time I go. Both Aleisha and Ayanna are always very accommodating and welcoming to me as a busy mom trying to make time for self care. The yoga sessions are thoroughly enjoyable and invigorating. I am so happy and grateful I found them 🙂

I must say practicing yoga with you, Ayanna and Aleisha, is exhilarating, as you transfer your positive energy and enthusiasm during the sessions. I love the way you combine the theory and the practical to ensure the poses are executed accurately. I have seen improvements in my strength and flexibility since attending your classes. After each practice, I feel energized physically, mentally and spiritually, which leads to a good night sleep. Thank you for many more fantastic sessions!!!

The GY Strong Challenge was amazing. I am so glad I signed up. It allowed me to reset, recharge and pause in this hectic time. What a great way to start the year. Ayanna and Aleisha are empowering, thoughtful, kind and full of compassion, and most importantly non-judgmental in their approach to teaching yoga. They have developed a holistic challenge that impacts mind, body and soul. Thank you the Gentle Yogi, you made my January!!! 😊 🧘🏽‍♀️ 🧘🏽‍♀️ 🌻 .
