One of the most beautiful places Ive eaten dinner in my life but the experience left a bit to be desired. Took us a while to be seated, then took us even longer to be served. Must have waited 30 minutes to get a waiter and another 45 to get our food. We also ordered a dessert which was forgotten and we had to remind the waitress about it. The appetizer was not really bursting with flavor and the fish and chips I had were very bland for a $35 dish. Clam chowder was ok but had another down the road that blew the doors off this at a much more affordable price.

Great place right by the beach. Crab cakes were so good! Scallops were good but the rice was strangely undercooked. Great cut of new York strip .... But it was cooked to well done when we asked for medium. They made us another one but had to wait. The waitress was super nice though and got the problem fixed asap. Clam chowder was also very good!

Food was really amazing! Great service, they gave us a free burrata salad because our mains were taking longer than usual. View was beautiful. Restaurant does need an interior update and it is very expensive, but the food was worth it.

Outstanding all the way around: cocktails/wine (featuring great local options), food (fresh seafood and fresh made pasta), service, and ambiance. One of our local favorites!

Def recommend and would return! PS. Heat lamps would fit on the outside deck between tables—that would help.

Every seat had a great view of the ocean. Good variety of foods but pricey. I had whole trout entree and my husband had fish and chips. Both were very good. Great service.

Very nice atmosphere, probably has great views when it isn't overcast and gloomy since it's overlooking a beach. Limited menu which is primarily seafood. I'm not a seafood person so I had to choose between a few high-dollar streaks or a Caesar salad. My buddy had the halibut for dinner and he said it was very good, it looked good to me and I don't even like fish. Service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. I probably would not return because of the differences in my taste and the menu, however, if you do like seafood you'd probably want to have dinner here at least once.

Beautiful view, very nice location and atmosphere. I just had a cheese platter, but plates around me looks nice and good. I find it a bit pricy though.

They sat us in the back by the kitchen and waiters station. Nice view. Place desperately needs to be remodeled. VERY run down. I could tell by the probably previously frozen bread the food wasn’t going to be good. Food was very heavily salted and not good what so ever. Very overpriced. Drinks are good. Worst 100$ I’ve ever spent on food. Service was not that great either.

We walked in at 5pm and had no problem getting a table.

Always a place we like to take family out to when visiting or for special occasions, as the atmosphere and view are hard to beat. The food itself is also varied and delicious and we have yet to meet a dish we did not thoroughly enjoy. Our last venture included starting with some amazing Smoked Salmon wontons, and our main dishes were the Seared Ahi Tuna and Cioppino, both of which were delicious, flavorful, and filling. It can get quite busy there which results in a longer wait time, but it's worth the trip if you find yourself in the area.

The view is beautiful!!The food was amazing!! The staff was very friendly, the only complaint would be that the service was slow.

We enjoyed our meal here. The food was good but overall it fell short of "great". Portions were a bit on the smaller side and prices were not on the small side. Really no complaints, just not the best dining experience of our trip.

Priceless view outside, but if you don’t have a table with a view, consider it a 1 star review. The interior of the restaurant is not nice. I’ve been here twice, once I got stuck sitting by the access to the kitchen and the flatware cupboard/drinks station, and the other time I sat outside. The first time I got the chicken and it was on par with what you’d get at a diner, except 10x as expensive. The next time salad was DRENCHED in disgusting overly-sweet dressing, and the main course had fried onion bits on it that weren’t mentioned on the menu. I should’ve sent it back instead of trying to pick them out. Not quality ingredients and not quality cooking. The food was not good, and was borderline bad. It was absolutely unacceptable for the price. The servers were fine, not good but not bad. The wait was minimal with a reservation. The second time going confirmed my fist assessment- not worth it at all if you are expecting the quality of the food to warrant the price. But, great location if you can be SURE you can get a table with a view.

I have worked with 5 star chefs for many years. I must say that I was so impressed with the presentation that I couldn't wait to dive into the dish. Oh, and let me tell you, the dish did not disappoint. It was exactly what I thought, DELICIOUS. Kudos to the team at the Moonstone Grill, I look forward to visiting your other businesses when I'm back in town.

Hand a birthday dinner here and was impressed with the food. We did a few small plates, all were excellent. Caught the end of the sunset and enjoyed the front tow seats as the skys darkened. If you enjoy nice food in beautiful places like I do, you must give Moonstone a try.

This place is practically in the beach. Such an amazing spot for casual fine dining.

Our group of 6 came in as the restaurant was opening for dinner and even though we didn't have a reservation we were seated in a lovely spot by the window. The service is very attentive, we all loved our food, and had a wonderful meal! I am so glad this Humboldt landmark is open again and we be making it a regular spot when visiting again.

You can't beat the location. It's definitely got an old feel to it and needs some remodeling. But it's part of the Humboldt vibe. Food is great and so is the staff!

Beautiful view, fantastic drinks, good food , good service menu is limited no specials this evening

It had an amazing view. The menu was good and varied as well. The dishes were tasty, and the staff was nice. However, all that said, we felt it was overpriced. The restaurant has 5 star prices with 3 star fare. I feel like it was good food, but it wasn't 5 star food. Our bill was over $700 for seven people, and we did not order alcohol. The abalone dish was $105, but came with two abalone and angel hair pasta and brussel sprouts. We also had Alaskan Halibut, Lobster Tail, Cioppone, Halbit and Chips, and Butternut Squash. For appetizers we had the cheese board, oysters, wontons, crabcakes. For dessert we ordered cheesecake, creme brulee, brandies cherries, and chocolate cake. The brandied cherries dessert was brandied cherries atop 2 big scoops of vanilla ice cream. We were only served two cherries though??? We mentioned this and it was suggested that next time we visit that we ask for extra cherries (instead of offering to fix it and bring some more??). On the way to the restroom, we noticed most tables had a bread basket. We hadn't received one, so asked for one to be sent to the table, but it never was delivered. Again, the view and staff was amazing, but overall we left underwhelmed.

Lobster Fettuccine and Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake were both phenomenal, plus the view from the table was fantastic. Friendly staff and relaxed experience. Highly recommend!

Tasteful meal, and efficient service. Everyone was very happy with dinner. The music was chill and down tempo. Nice place to catch a dinner,especially if you hit sunset hour.
