Had an amazing fish soup as an appetizer and fish and chips for main! The soup was really good, I am definitely taking that fish soup as my main course when I visit next time! They had a lot of steak options too, but I was definitely in for the best cod you can get part of Norway!

Note: never order Asian food here. Had the beef Bulgogi and "dumplings". The Bulgogi meat was decent on some parts. Half the meat was tender enough but other parts were really dry and hard to chew. The rice i got was mostly okay, but it had multiple chunks of completely hard rice that had probably been scraped from the bottom of the cooker. I mentioned this and got a new bowl of rice on the side. The second bowl of rice was overall fine. Nothing to brag about but fine. Right after the second bowl arrived someone else came with another one. This third bowl was atrocious. The rice was borderline paper-mache. No consistency, no nothing. I cannot fathom how in three bowls of rice you go from mostly okay but with hard parts, to decent, and then to literal mush. The chef is clearly incapable of making rice on a consistent basis and should refrain from doing it till he gets a grip. I also ordered the "dumplings". What i got was not dumplings, but steamed buns. These are not the same thing.. I made the staff aware of the incorrect information on at least the English menu, and they said they would look into it. After i gave them the feedback i got the dessert on the house, which was fine, but also expected at that point. The Panna Cotta was actually very Good and very well made, which was at least somewhat a saving grace. The staff were very attentive and tried their best, so i will give plus points for that. Anyhow, until something changes, DO NOT order Asian food at this restaurant.

Very good food and friendly staff. Prices are high but its a good deal considering that this is Norway 🇳🇴. You can have a good meal for 500 nok including beer. The location is good, in the city center of Tromso. You order and pay at the bar using your table number. Its a Norwegian take of a TGI Friday's restaurant. They have an all you can eat pizza bar in the afternoons.

A bit pricey but the food was really worth it! Looved the pork belly skewers. The food overall was really tasty! I had the chicken confit, the meat was very tender and veggies perfectly cooked. The only downside is I was served sweet potato puree instead of the truffle one (i guess they were out of truffle)? I am sure truffle would compliment the dish beautifully however the dish was tasty. We also got gorgonzola pasta and we definitively recommend it!

Worst service ever had in Tromsø and Norway. Apparently the short waiter with strict face believed himself equal to the Norwegian cuesomers but superior than foreign customers. When I made my order for 30 minutes and felt really starving so I went asking him with all respect. He said 'you just put your order 10 minutes ago. After I showed him the recipt he said 'it's not 30 minutes, it's 25 minutes and you can see it's full house''. But No, it was 28 minutes and No, there were not many people when I and my friend were there. When an old lady who spoke Norwegian to him asking why their food hasn't been severed, he suddenly became very polite. My table number was 181 and I and my friend will never go back to this restaurant again because of him. I talked with friends and this guy seems like has a 'good' reputation by treating their customers differently. Shame on him and the restaurant that hire this kind of person in 2023!

Food is expensive in Tromsø, so I understand that it's gonna cost, but to pay $75 for two sandwiches and some egg rolls and the sandwiches have mostly bread and not much meat was disappointing. You basically serve yourself, and on top of that it wasn't very tasty. Good place to watch people walk up and down the main street though.

Restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Cozy and typical with a good choice of dishes. Good and abundant portion. Reasonable prices considering the country which is very costly

I came for pizza buffet (like a proffesional student) and there wasn't any vegetarian on the table, I asked for one and they made it - it was really cool and pizza was tasty, delicious sauces ! but salad buffet is only lettuce 🙈 i was hoping for some more vegetables, at least tomatos. Seaside climate inside.

There was a large piece of hair inside our salmon and when we stopped our meal to inform the staff they simply said “thanks for letting us know.” Overall table service level was poor and the food average.

We love the food so much that we ended up visiting twice. You need to find an empty table for yourself, which is pretty common in Tromso, as we found out. The place is quite cozy. We had the amazing the chicken confit and the English breakfast. The confit sauce was simply out of this world! Though the second time round it was more cheesy.

I usually don’t make a review but I feel like I need to do. Here is the best place for food in Tromso and I visited here for 4times. (I stayed for 5 times) every food is great and deserved to pay it! Especially meat menus are highly recommended!!

The restaurant's decor is unique, but the food is rather ordinary, and the prices are high. It's more suitable for taking photos; I truly don't understand why so many people choose to dine here.

As I only tried the pizza here I can't give a great review. There is an extensive menu with a ton of options. What I can tell you is the pizza dough is the only bread that did not agree with me in all of Norway. But it was tasty and I will go back and try other items off the menu. The restaurant has so much decor. And multiple levels of seating.

During our stay in tromso we probably stopped by Egon like 3+ times. Loved the convenience of choosing your own table, walking to the bar to order and pay. And then a server bringing your meal promptly. Made it ideal if we just wanted to stop by for dessert or a quick bite without making it time consuming. It’s also convenient when going with a big group of people because each person can pay at the bar individually. They have a vast menu. The fish cream soup was great, their burgers are great too. Their drinks were not watered down. The place is cozy and the staff are very friendly. Definitely recommend egon.

We know Egon restaurant pretty well, since my husband worked there 5 years ago. So always when we visit Tromso, we eat in Egon. From our experiences, we can say, in Egon really depends who is the 👩‍🍳 Chef. A few times in last year we were a bit disappointed with service and quality of the dish. But anyway, the positive experiences outweighed the negative, so we keep going. Yesterday we arrived to the city very late, so we were the last guests coming into restaurant. (Open to 24:00, we came 23:30) Expecting that at such a time, probably the quality of food will be not so great. Luckily our thoughts were so wrong. Thank you so much Lady Chef for a delicious meal. Everything was just perfect. My husband had pasta Gorgonzola and I had my favourite veggie burger. The best dishes we have eaten in Egon so far. Also we would like to thanks the waiters. You still had a plenty of work to finish after we left. Once again Thank you, looking forward back 🥰 @catandcouple

Comfortable. Pleasant. Open until late, well-offered Norwegian dishes, excellent fish soup, excellent beers. Attentive service, but orders must be made at the counter (...who knows why?). Advised.

This restaurant has a very romantic, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The music playing was mostly jazz which I really enjoyed along with the candles and the wood interior design. The service was very friendly and helpful, especially when I had questions regarding paying with an EC-card instead of a credit card. Now to the food: the prices are normal for Norway, I believe, though I would have loved perhaps a bigger portion for what I had (Golden State Burger). However, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the meal and would definitely go back to try the all-you-can-eat buffet they offer.

This self service type restaurant has a variety of food from pizza to fish. You seat yourself and have to go to the bar to obtain a menu; go back to order at the bar while providing the table number and they bring hot food to your table. Food is average and meets the price point. Warm, friendly environment and great adult beverage menu. Walking distance from several hotels. Pictured is the cod dinner prepared gluten free.

Lovely restaurant with great ambiance. Portions are also reasonable. Overall bit pricy but worth the dinning experience. I wish they had some more options for vegetarian. We had ordered Fajitas and Quesadilla. Taste was great.

It is a very Porsche Restaurant. Very polite staff who make you feel like an elite guest. They had lot of drinks which very both alcoholic and non alcoholic. We did order some vegetarian food. As starters we ordered Bruschetta. It was rich with pine seeds and Soya sauce. It tasted really good and it came in at a relatively reasonable time too. Then or Main course Vegetarian Quesadilla, vegetarian noodles and vegan bowl was served a bit late after an hour or so. That's one star minus. But the food was really rich both with the content and the way it was decorated. Vegetarian Quesadilla was really tasty. At the end when the food was cold, cheese became a bit rubbery. Apart from that all the sauces and the food was wonderful. vegetarian noodles was really nice. It had lot of vegetables and rich sauces. It was tinge on a sweet taste which was a bit too much for my spicy tooth but it was tasty. Vegan bowl was really nice. I really enjoyed it. But I felt it was a little expensive

We went here for dinner and paid 790NOK (£65) for one starter (fish soup), 2 burgers and 2 sodas. Three inside is very cosy, lots of seating space and it had a present relaxed vibe. I'm taking away 1 star because the service was not the best. After we were done with the soup we waited a long time until anyone noticed us. When they finally brought food it was the wrong thing - twice. Didn't help that the lady serving us didn't speak English I guess. But all in all food was good, and we enjoyed our time there.

Good food, cozy atmosphere for such a large restaurant, and an extensive, multilingual menu. We very much enjoyed our meal and the ambiance here. Service is limited; waiter only stopped by to take our order and then to deliver food, but I think that’s by design and it’s perfectly fine - we actually enjoyed the privacy. Only downside was the rowdy and tipsy group of tourists we were seated next to, but that’s not something the restaurant could control.

Good food and drinks. We ordered the Salmon and potatoes, Pizza Prosciutto, the Veg Fajita, and the Burger. Everything was really good.

Chanced upon this restaurant during our 1st day in Tromso. I must say the food quality has way exceeded our expectations! Go for the Asian Chicken Bowl, Sweet & Sour Rice, Cod fm North Norway, Chopped Steak are all very yummy, just to name a few. Will definitely come again if time permits. Just a little shortcoming, lady service staff could be a little more patient and more polite else they certainly deserve a 5 ⭐️

Lots of choices for food, it was really good! I had a sweet & sour chicken bowl, it was a big portion tho, sadly too much for me. But was well worth the money. I recommend this a lot more than this that is on jekta k1.

We tried salmon fillet and taco crispy chicken. Taco was great and highly recommend it. The cost of these two is around 480 NOK.

The classic place. Cozy atmosphere in wooden booths. Some of the seats are a bit small and in 90 degrees. But there are benches too. Food is tasty and looks appetizing.

Very good food and service. Come here Isa must! I can recommend the quesadillas as a starter together with the chicken tacos. For main dish the gorgonzola pasta was amazing! I do NOT recommend the Asian noodles, please just don't...

We went here twice during our visit. You order your food at the bar, which wasn't explained to us the first time. The staff seemed a little grouchy both times we went. The food comes out quick and was really good. They're open later then a lot of places which was nice and convenient!

A nice woody restaurant with average good food at normal prices for Norway (which is extremely expensive overall; around 200-250 NOK / meal). You have to order from your phone or at the bar. A few vegetarian varieties, apart from fish, which might be the best alternative in Norway (not such a vegeterian friendly place): vegan boul, noodles and asian dish, some pizza varieties. They have Italian and American pizza, but of course the Italian one doesn't compair with true Italian pizza. It's just as good as anywhere else outside Italy. Glutenfree friendly. No terrace.

Nice place with a good ambiance. Friendly staff…! Food tasted good, they have plenty of veg options. I like the ordering process, you can just order it online while in the restaurant providing your table number or you can order it going to the counter. They didn’t provide water, so that’s the only annoying thing. I can surely recommend!! Overall experience Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Staff: 5/5 Quantity: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 4/5

Went for the all you can eat pizza buffet. Note that if you're vegetarian you'll need to ask a member of staff to arrange a suitable pizza to be added to the buffet. It was well worth the wait. Maybe the best pizza I've had in Tromsø. Highly recommended.

😐 Average pizza, very dry on the edges. Calzones had way too much cheese and not much flavour. The coke tasted like it’s been watered down. The place is spacious and don’t need to reserve in advance.
