We stopped in port while on a cruise. We wanted to eat somewhere off the boat. This place was phenomenal. All fresh made to order. Each dish was amazing! Top Notch!

It's an wonderful dine in experience at Art Cafe. We enjoyed each and every dish we ordered. We must say the decorations and the alignment of the services are outstanding. Must try items: Goulash Salted reindeer

Best fish soup in Tromso. Spaghetti with chili and chicken salad and king crab bisque are really good. We had to come back in the next day to eat the same ordered. Best & friendly service. Worth value of money.

Maybe a 3-star is not totally fair. Some of the dishes were very nice and some were average. The service is great and the staff is super welcoming. The house wine was super delicious and good amount. The restaurant is quite and very small and we booked the table in advance. The reindeer stew was nice and our favourite dish. The eggs Benedict were so so. We didn’t like the sauce that much, and in my opinion, was worse than others I have tried before. The salmon was good and fair amount! The bread was also okay but the salad was a bit sad. A lot of leaves and no sauce or oil/vinagre so it felt a bit too dry. Maybe it was the selection of dishes. I would give it another try, since the experience was quite pleasant in general.

Great food. It's not a café nor bistro. It's restaurant, so if you want just a coffee or small bite, choose a different place. Also if you want to be sure you'll have a spot, make a reservation, it's really small. Which is not a bad thing, it makes the atmosphere of the place much cosier.

We discovered this place on our last day in Tromsø and we loved every single dish we had. Andrea brought us some fantastic bread and homemade butter which didn’t last more than 5 minutes on the table. We had some garlic shrimps as starter, my husband had the lamb stew and I had the trout and cheesecake as dessert. All the dishes were delicious, fresh and great size portions. We. will definitely come back!!!

Loved this little gem! Andrea and her husband were awesome. Food was delicious! I had the prosciutto salad that was fresh from near by. Atmosphere is cozy. Great place for a date, felt romantic. I would recommend making reservations.

So good we ate there twice! WhatsApp ahead to get a reservation. Family of four. For the first visit had Fårikål (Norwegian Lamb & Cabbage Stew) which is only available this time of year and the reindeer dish. Flavours for both were amazing with 2 glasses of fab red wine. Desserts to die for. Second visit we had the reindeer dish and arctic salmon. Everyone wanted their own dessert this time - no sharing. Wonderful service and atmosphere. Everything you want in a great restaurant. Highly recommend.

This is a very relaxed restaurant with only 7 tables, which makes for a great dining atmosphere. The food is very delicious. Service that is like eating at a friend's house. I strongly recommend this restaurant. If you visit Tromso, be sure to reserve a table.

My husband & I had the pleasure of dining here tonight. We started with the creamy king crab bisque served with homemade bread & homemade butter. Simply delicious. We then had the reindeer served with creamy dreamy mushroom sauce lingonberry jam & tart fresh lingonberries to give a contrasting pop in the mouth. Yum. The restaurant is cosy & the staff welcoming. This was a truly standout meal. Recommend booking as it is small & obviously popular.

Crab bisque soup was filling and tasted great. Bread and homemade butter good. Service was fast and friendly. Prices reasonable.

We were so happy with our meal! Everything is house-made (even the butter) and delicious. We had the trout (the special) and goulash. It was all beautifully done and with great service!

Very cozy small restaurant decorated with paintings by contemporary artists. The king crab soup and the reindeer saute are excellent. Reservation required. Not to be missed

Luckily we booked, we saw a few customers being turned away! Good food selection with decent pricing. It's a small family run restaurant with homemade options. They recommended the national dish, which is the lamb stew and it's amazing! The chicken caesar salad was okay. The place was a little warm inside.

Probably one of the best restaurants in Tromsø. Excellent food, hefty portions, great presentation and very reasonable prices. Fantastic service. Recommend reserving a place beforehand as they can only seat around 20 people max at a time. We were lucky and turned up at 1.20pm asking for a table for 4 just before it got full and customers were turned away for a 30min wait. Pictures show the salmon/avocado salad, spaghetti olio, eggs benedict, cheesecake, chocolate cake and carrot cake.

A lovely lunch stop in the city centre. The broccoli 🥦 soup was brilliant and the atmosphere was good even before other diners arrived. Brunch (breakfasty options with eggs) served until 3pm. The art on the walls is a tempting purchase and the food and drinks make it a worthwhile stop. If you get a chance on your trip to Tromsø it's a lovely lunch.

Probably the best restaurant in Tromsø, no wonder it's no. 1 on TripAdvisor. A small family business, a coquette intimate place, carefully put together. Delicious homemade food with fresh ingredients, as their official purpose states on the menu. Very kind and attentive staff, super efficient and fast service. Tried the gourmet risotto (the only place I found in Tromsø that serves risotto!), and the goulash. We got some delicious homemade bread and homemade butter too. Vegetarian friendly! Too bad there's no terrace, could improvise a small coquette one in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk, Italian style, during sunny summer days.

First, make a reservation. We tried to walk in twice and were turned away despite the apparent availability of tables. I think they only do reservations. Lovely place. We had the king crab soup - good, extremely rich and creamy. Then the special lamb dish - excellent. And finally the cheesecake, also excellent. Freshly squeezed OJ was very fresh. Also friendly, homey service from a woman in a sweat suit, and art on the walls - which other customers were actually buying.

This was the cutest spot and had excellent food! I had the seafood soup and my friend had the mushroom pasta. Both were delicious and fresh and full of flavor. They had an excellent house wine that was organic. The bread and butter were tasty. The interior is eclectic with lots of art pieces and a cozy feel. Service was friendly and helpful.

👍 Had an amazing fish soup as an appetizer and fish and chips for main! The soup was really good, I am definitely taking that fish soup as my main course when I visit next time! They had a lot of steak options too, but I was definitely in for the best cod you can get part of Norway!

😐 Average pizza, very dry on the edges. Calzones had way too much cheese and not much flavour. The coke tasted like it’s been watered down. The place is spacious and don’t need to reserve in advance. Needed to wait nearly an hour for a pizza and a calzone, though the place was not even half full. It s...

👍👍 We had a booking for Saturday evening, and I'm glad we did as it was very busy. We got 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert and 2 cocktails for 1630NOK (£130). Everything was delicious, but the reindeer stake was one of the best things I've ever eaten. So much flavour! The restaurant is very cosy and the...
