We had picked and used many restaurants in Tromsø and saw that the 'food hygiene smileys' at The Wok were consistently good so we decided to visit on our last night. It was quite a windy night, I had a cold with a 'barking cough'. On arrival there were only 2 people in the restaurant and there was no friendly greeting for us. Upon settling down we were not offered a cloakroom and I stood up to leave the main room as I felt a cough coming on and did not want to disturb other too much. After ordering I need to cough again, a reaction to coming in from the cold I guess. We were then asked to pay in advance, we were not happy and despite the tea being delivered we decided to leave. We were very disappointed and did not really understand after speaking in English and Norwegian why we were not wanted. I come from France and my friend from the UK we are both a little bit deaf. We moved on to the 'Indian Restaurant' in Storgata where out reception could not have been better. I had to give this review '1 star' but 'O' would be more fitting.

Amazing and truly authentic Chinese restaurant in the middle of Tromsø! You have to visit it. Simple yet causy atmosphere with quality food! Very professional and friendly service! Thanks to our permanent server Yuan for making this experience extra special!

Service is great but the good is so plain and prices too stiff. At such prices they should deliver at whole other experience, interior design wise as well.

A nice place to get Chinese food in Tromso the portions are large and prices are typical for Tromso... a little on the expensive side. I'd recommend it as a comfort meal on a cold day.

Way too expensive for what they are actually serving. You can get 3 small dumplings for 130kr. Insane.

We came here June 2015 with princess cruise and we had a verry good chinese food. And I still remember until now.

Arrived in Tromso late, was tired so got a takeaway. I ordered a main and a rice, was extremely expensive and the chicken dish I ordered wasn't what I received. £44 for 2 items it alot. The chicken dish was ok, abit too much fatty batter, but the rice was nice.

Travelled from London to Tromsø and visited Shanghai Wok. Really cute restaurant with some fantastic customer service. Had a really pleasant meal and the best first night evening im Tromsø
