This is the most centrally located wine monopoly in Tromsø. Wine, spirits, beer stronger than 4.5ish. Alcohol is heavily taxed in Norway. The tax is largely based on the alcohol content within each product type. The upside is that the tax makes relatively less impact for more expensive wines, including fortified wines. Good selection, great management, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A larger store is located at Langnes shopping park and a smaller one at Pyramiden shopping on the mainland. You may use the Vinmonopolet.no website to browse the inventory for each of the three outlets. The beer market in Norway is split between two channels. The beers at Vinmonopolet are stronger than app. 4.5 percent. Beer in stores and other channels have abt. 4.5 or less. Good luck!

Not as big of a store (which means not as much range) as the store at Jekta, however, this is the closest you'll get to the city centre. The staff at Nerstranda Vinmonopolet are professional and knowledgeable. I've never had a problem with choice here with a decent selection of wines and spirits. If you're after a bigger selection of beers then Jekta Vinmonopolet is where you want to go.
