Wonderful place filled with artefacts and remakes. Telling the story of the orginial peoples they belonged to. Its worth a visit as the pottery has so much detail because that is how they depicted their history and stories.

The ruins of Chan Chan are definitely worth a visit! Located between Trujillo and Huanchaco it is a quick trip here. Starting with the museum where there are original pieces of pottery and other cultural pieces, then you can either walk or take a ride for around s/5 to the ruins of Chan Chan. I personally would recommend getting a tour guide as there is alot to learn from these 2000 year old ruins. However, it's also nice having a wander round as these ruins are so spectacular.

A fair collection of pre-Inca ceramics and curios. If you have an informative guide then it's a good experience and gives you an idea of what to expect if you visit the one (smaller) palace on site. Be aware that "small" is in relative terms. You'll be stunned at how large it actually is.

Pretty decent place. They still haven't finished it right now. My and my friends had a good time looking around it costs 10SOL for access to both the museum and the site of Chan Chan. There was some small stalls outside selling the usual tourist clobber, unfortunately I wasn't able to find anything I wanted. My friend Matthew found the museum boring which worked well for him as once he said that we had seen everything in it. I think overall the museum was alright

One of Perú's museums that sre right next to its respective ruin, it offers some. insight on what went on in chan chan back when it was populated, with some. of the daily use pottery which represented their lifestyle, customd and traditions, as the fishermen they were, as well as their beliefs and the gods they adored. There's a video on the second floor explaining all of these facts way better than I do. I thought the hologram was a really nice touch, showing their deities and mummys

Great open air museum. The indoors museum is simple but nice. I didn't understand this concept of paying for the entrance ticket and have to pay extra 40 soles to have a worker explaining with more details the pieces inside the museum.

A lot to improve. Large model map is good to show the scale of the city but could do with some annotations. Has some exhibits but no real explanation of the city's history. I came before going to the ruins hoping it'd give some information about what I'm looking at but didn't help at all. But it's cheap to enter.

It's a nice addition to the actual site. Visitation will take about 15-30 minutes. Museum about 25 minutes walking distance from the archeological site.

Definitely one of the best places to visit if you are in Trujillo. On the tour you can see the extensive work on its imposing walls and the artistic relief detail that adorns it, without a doubt the largest city built of clay in America and the world.

Very impressive, interesting. The ruins are teeming with history and a lot of work has gone into its preservation. A must visit if you travel to Trujillo.

Nice to visit. Although better to ask chatgpt than pay a tour guide.

Tbh, I hadn't been to Chan Chan since when I was a kid, so I remembered it completely different. However I didn't like the treatment there. The entrances fee is fine, bit paying 60 soles for tour guide and them being so insistent about was a little off putting. I would prefer if they did the same thing as in Huacas de Moche, where you tip the guide at the end of the tour.

Chan Chan museum is a very interesting place full of history, all the things inside are really protected but in spite of that, you can take photos and also there are special digital platforms to take photos of you as a memory and then share them onto your mobile. The attention there is excellent, everybody is so gentle and polite and make the visit pretty comfortable and unique. Highly recommended 😁

Really interesting site but the lack of information in the museum and in the citadel is a shame. We felt we had to get a guide for 60 soles. The guide was definitely worth it but costly compared with the 10 soles entrance fee for Chan Chan and 10 soles entrance fee to Huaca de la luna which includes a guide.

A few nice artefacts but absolutely no information about them, not even where on site they were found or their age. For anything other than a look at nice things you have to pay extra for a guide.

Museum is very average. Very small, nothing in English. Not much there full stop. Would recommend going straight to the town
