Loved it. It was 5 soles to get in. (Less the $2) it had some cool stuff.

A small museum with a wonderful collection representing the cultures of northern Peru. Unique pieces tell the story of these people and how they were connected to one another over the centuries prior to the arrival of the Spanish. There is a particularly interesting mummy on display.

Very nice museum. Small, very beautiful rooms and with fair information for each exhibition. Their ceramics are the best in the museum.

One of the most significant archaeological discoveries associated with the Paracas culture is the Paracas Candelabra, also known as the Candelabra of the Andes. It is a large geoglyph etched into the face of a hillside in the Pisco Bay area near the town of Paracas. The purpose and meaning of the Candelabra remain a subject of speculation and mystery.

Hard to find but worth it when you do. Great collection of Chimu and Moche pottery and a perfectly preserved Mummy on display. All in a 18th Century Mansion built by an Indian. No other patrons on our visit there. Many display lights out.

Interesting tour through the history of the region with a corresponding focus on the cultures of northern Peru, from hunter-gatherers to the colonial period. Compared to other museums, nice use of models and figures (attempted reconstructions). Most of the explanation boards are also in English.

This museum has a fine collection of artifacts spanning many of the cultures that lived in the La Libertad region. The building that contains the museum is lovely but needs some modernization.

I was absolutely mesmerized by the works of art in the museum. There are different rooms which depict the architecture and lifestyle of the history. There are enormous colourful canvas, amazing sculptures, exquisite silver and gold jewellery and even kings and queens´ garments.
