Our
go-to
Mexican
restaurant
is
Tony's,
but
they
were
closed
today,
so
we
thought
we'd
try
La
Cocina.
We
haven't
eaten
there
since
it
first
opened
at
their
current
location
years
ago.
We
were
greeted
with
a
sewer
smell
as
we
walked
in
the
door.
As
we
left
we
found
the
smell
was
coming
from
the
restrooms,
which
are
located
right
behind
the
front
desk,
so
that
explains
that.
We
can't
eat
cilantro,
so
when
they
brought
the
salsa
and
chips
I
told
them
we'd
skip
the
salsa
but
they
had
salsa
without
cilantro,
so
that
was
nice.
My
wife
had
the
chicken
soft
taco
plate.
It
was
good,
but
she
was
not
a
fan
of
the
rice.
I
had
the
ultimate
enchilada
plate.
It
was
also
good,
but
I
also
thought
the
rice
was
lacking.
It's
easy
to
see
that
the
whole
place
needs
to
be
renovated
as
the
carpet
was
very
dirty,
the
paint
was
chipped
and
the
decorative
tiles
on
the
tables
have
seen
better
days.
The
service
was
great
from
the
host
to
our
server
Jeanette,
who
was
very
nice.
We
thought
it
was
a
bit
pricey
for
the
less
than
stellar
ambience.
If/when
they
ever
renovated
we
might
give
them
another
try,
but
until
then
we'll
stay
with
Tony's.
