Johnny B’s is a “Honey, stop the car!” kind of place! You don’t have to be a local to be treated well. It was our second stop while looking for breakfast in Truth or Consequences driving from Las Cruces to Sante Fe. We were not disappointed by any means. I highly recommend stopping here if you’re passing through on the interstate. 5 ⭐️ service. The whole staff takes care of all the guests. Every employee was friendly, nice, and helping everyone. They all seemed to enjoy each other and the guests whether you were a local or a tourist. 5 ⭐️ food. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with “Christmas” mix (red and green Chile sauce). It was delicious and I couldn’t finish my plate. My BF ordered the corned beef and hash and ate every bite of his plate!

This is a great spot to fuel up on food before the Beach . Great food and wonderful service.

Five stars for food and service. The décor is not part of this review. An unexpectedly good Rueben sandwich, the best I've had in a long time. Just right proportions and great flavors of corned beef, sauerkraut and swiss cheese. The marbled rye was very good. Russian dressing and pickles on the side the way I prefer. The sweet potato fries were also quite good - crisp and flavorful. The waitress was very attentive which I appreciated.

Stopped by for a quick dinner while traveling through town. Our waitress was great, very kind and pleasant. Food was delicious and the portions were huge! You could tell right away that it's where the locals eat because everyone seemed to know each other. Bathroom had a clean changing table for babies and the place has cute decor with tons if positive messages. My kids enjoyed reading all the pictures and ate every bite. Food came out from the kitchen hot, fresh, and fast which was appreciated because we had to get back on the road. I'll definitely stop in again when I come this way in the future.

This is the best restaurant I've been in in months! It's unpretentious food, but very well prepared. The food is flavorful and wholesome but has no unrequested add-ins (like cheese on a "hamburger", or extra margarine or, worse, sour cream in the mashed potatoes). I've always said that if it isn't on the menu, it shouldn't be in the food. Additionally, they have a very friendly atmosphere and cordial staff. The music was low and unobtrusive as well. Loud music is another one of my pet peeves. Even "fine dining" eateries who charge $50 for a good steak have proven to be quite disappointing to me because the music overpowered any attempted conversations. Finally, we enjoyed all the above at a very reasonable price! Icing on the cake is the next room ice cream parlor. My compliments to the chef and the management!!!

5 star breakfast! We stopped on our road trip and were worried because all we saw was a Denny’s and McDonalds as breakfast choices but found this place right across the street on Google. What a great find. Like many places post pandemic they appear to be understaffed with what appears to be one person serving the entire restaurant. Even though that was the case we were served quickly, our food was out in no time and we wanted for nothing. Breakfast is all in the details because we all know it’s pretty hard to screw up. Here are some of the things that make a 5 star breakfast in my book. 1. Eggs cooked perfectly and served hot. 2. Thick bacon that is crisp and has been patted dry. 3. Light and fluffy pancakes you can cut with a fork. 4. A bottle of warm syrup - no little packs or a small stingy cup. 5. The biggest biscuit I’ve ever seen - flaky, bits of butter in the dough, delicious.

A typical local burger 🍔 joint. The owner should be a big baseball fan, as this restaurant is well decorated with a lot baseball moments photos. We ordered their signature Johnny B's burger, American classic burger 🍔 with beef and chicken respectively, wouldn't say it tasted good, but can be a choice if you need something quick after your golf game at Sierra Del Rio.

The green chili patty melt was delicious! My husband got the combination plate and liked it. Only complaint on the food is the gravy that came with the kids chicken and fries was soo salty, but overall we liked it. We also got ice cream, a shake, and sundae and it was really good!! Server was super nice too!

TERRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE. My family and I came Friday night to have a nice dinner but instead WE WERE SERVED A HUGE PLATE OF RACISM. We were SAT IN THE BACK OF THE RESTAURANT as if SEGREGATION was still a thing (pic-1) Now mind you there were PLENTY of CLEAN AND EMPTY TABLES IN THE FRONT that could fit the 3 of us (pic-2) seems to me we were placed there since we were latinos. While sitting in the back I notice some NON- LATINOS come in and OUR WAITRESS SAT THEM IN THE FRONT, then moments later ANOTHER LATINO FAMILY comes and SHE SAT THEM IN THE BACK SECTION. I question the waitress as to why we were placed in the back and she replies “the tables in the front were not clean”, I politely responded that the tables were clean, there was nothing on the tables and her next response was “ I wanted to wait on you girls, that’s why I placed you there”. If you support behavior like this, go ahead and spend your hard earned money there but if you’re against racism and bigotry, go to another restaurant.

Great service, amazing breakfast. Still have yet to try their food during lunch/dinner but I am currently OBSESSED with their bacon, I crave it all the time. Love how the biscuits are large, was only able to finish one slice in the picture shown.

A cutey, homey cafe where locals knew everyone that came in. The staff was dressed in costumes and the whole dining room was decorated for Halloween. My husband's salad was very small and unimaginative, even for a dinner salad. His pork chops were very THIN and the mashed potatoes were instant. I ordered a tuna sandwich on sour dough. What I got was a tuna ( very basic) sandwich on burnt bread. I asked to verify that it was sourdough. Was shown two bags of bread. Neither of which looked like the bread that I was served. I was very disappointed. I will say that I received the extra pickles I requested and the fries were abundant and tasty.

We all just love this family owned and operated place. Good cooking. Nothing extravagant just good simple food at great prices. Super friendly staff that treats everyone nice.

Great food! You need to try the green salsa, so much flavor. Perfect portions. Staff work efficiently and with a smile. They welcome the "regulars" by name.

I like the atmosphere and the local decor from teams. The wait staff is great and the food comes out fast. But the food is mediocre. I've been twice and everything I had from the entree to the sides were all pretty bland, with the exception of the side soup that came with my meal. I had a much better burger at La Cocina nearby.

So glad we found this little hometown restaurant. Kudos to the chefs for some great tasting food. Wait staff was awesome as well. Came in hungry and left full. We had the Green Chili Cheeseburger and the Philly Cheese Steak with Green Chili Sandwich. Authentic New Mexico Green Chilis. Oh so good!! Will be one of our stops when traveling the area. Looking forward to their Biscuits and Gravy one day soon! 😋

Just happened to be wearing my NAVY veteran ball cap and was completely surprised by a young man that came up to the register while I was starting to pay for breakfast for me and my wife and said that the waitress was supposed to bring him my bill. He politely thanked me for my service and took the check from the lady at the register. WOW! I was completely and pleasantly surprised and humbled all at once. The food was great as was the service. Thank you Truth or Consequences, you folks are the best.

This is a great place to stop and eat. The waitresses are all friendly and attentive, and the food tastes great! They have a variety of options from burgers to Mexican food. (I like the combination plate. Christmas: red and green chile.) Their chile is flavorful with some heat, but not an overpowering amount of heat in my opinion.

Johhny B's was busy but we still got great service and our food was hot and delicious. The menu has a great variety(something for everyone) and priced right. Bonus, this place had an ice cream parlor. YUM this place was so GOOD!

Just wanted an old fashioned burgers fries and a shake with a slice of pie for dessert. This absolutely hit the spot everything was on point and service was great. The kitchen was fast and did a great job. The dessert was amazing my kids had some ice cream and my wife and I had some lemon pie with a chocolate shake. What an incredible experience after visiting the hot springs. 5 stars!

Americana at its best. Great mainstream american food. If you like you can add some of the local New Mexico flavor with red and green chili that is not too overpowering for the travelers who just exited I 25 or the boaters at the lake. The New Mexico dishes offered are authentic flavorful and bountiful. Service was great clean casual place kept up that is well traveled. Make it your stop for a good old american home made meal with nice people running the place. Good value for the price.

Came in with family as a party of 7 and we were seated shortly and received wonderful service. The food was amazing! The chicken fried steak, the enchiladas, sweet potato fries... everything was absolutely delicious. Now for dessert, classic banana split and the coconut pie were divine. Thank you so much!

Casual and easy going place to eat. I had the liver and onions which I know can be risky but it was very good. My husband had the chicken fried steak. Also excellent. The ice-cream parlor was a surprise! But, of course, we had to check it out also. I highly recommend this place for regular good home cooked meals.

Great service, good food, and a nice atmosphere! I came here on a field trip, and even with a large crowd, the restaurant accommodated us well. The server was friendly, the food was a delight, and even the deserts were really good. Definitely coming back here again!

I'm giving this restaurant five stars because of its location and the quality of food. However just FYI I stood in the entryway looking for a place to sit and it look like it was pretty packed with several tables dirty.. it took 10 minutes for someone to even ask me what I wanted and I just asked if there was an open seating and if so where I would sit. Being new to this restaurant I did not know where I would need to sit down now since all the tables were dirty maybe they were left dirty because of the covid and the 75% capacity restrictions with a turquoise code. Well after finally enough people came in, one of the servers actually came up and told me where I could sit. I sat down at the dirty table cleaned it up in a neat pile for them to be removed thinking that I would be helpful. Took another 10 minutes for my menu to arrive after I asked a waitress for that and finally was able to enjoy a wonderful dinner. From what I overheard from other guests and a waitress nearby is that this was extremely crowded more than usual. Maybe guests were coming in due to spring break etc. Or maybe the day was just too beautiful to stay in. Knowing that it could take long to get out of there I asked for a to-go box immediately upon ordering my meal since I told them I knew that I would end up taking it with me and was thinking that this would be helpful and she said she would bring it right back with the meal. However that did not happen for another 10 or 15 minutes. Well all said and done she finally came back with the box and I quickly placed my remainder of the food in it ask for my check which I got speedily and checked out at the counter after purchasing one of their neat looking cookies.... Good up sale... I know that they were very busy but that is not an excuse not to keep your eye on the door and see if someone needs help. I was a little upset but I realize this is probably a fluke as many of the folks knew the waitresses and I assume have been patrons for lengths of time. Love the food and I am sure that the help would be more courteous and polite if they were not probably wore out and in a rush trying to accommodate all of us. I will return in the future no problem.

I was a little worried about ordering the enchiladas. One taste and my worries where gone. I'm not saying they were the best I ever had, but for the variety of food on the menu, they were good. Serving size was adequate for the price.

My husband and I have eaten regularly at Johnny B's since we moved here 5 years ago. Lately the food has changed; the quality is not as good as it use to be. Tonight we both had the catfish special and it was extremely greasy and didn't taste fresh. Awhile back I ordered a Reuben "to go" and when I got home it only had one thinly sliced piece of corn beef. Also, they've changed their chicken from real chicken pieces to some kind of pressed chicken. I usually don't write negative reviews but I'm very disappointed.

There was 3 other tables besides us in the entire restaurant. We waited over 30 minutes and no body took our order. A staff member came by with a broom didn’t ask if we needed anything or if we were ready to order. A guy who I assume was probably the manager was just having a good ole conversation with another customer and there were multiple times we made eye contact. When we got up to leave (because nobody took our order) there was a table of staff members just sitting there talking up a storm. We normally come in for lunch but this was around 2pm when we came in. I’ve noticed that they’re pretty slow even when they’re not busy.

We had quick, friendly service here. I had the chile rellano plate, which were some of the best I've had. Ordered it Christmas style and both sauces were delicious. My wife had a Philly cheese steak sandwich which was also excellent. The prices here are super reasonable, I'd recommend this place to anyone.

👍👍 Tony's is the best..! Today was my 59th Birthday so we had to eat there to celebrate. My wife and I had our first date there 14 years ago when it was still LaPinata. As a result we had them caterer our wedding. We just moved back to T or C less than a month ago and we've already eaten there 4 times....
