Stayed one night this weekend and it was perfect! The newest room Desert Rose is very nice, love the outdoor tub and patio area. Nice clean room, bed, towels. TV with streaming available. Best location, right on main st. shops and restaurants and the brewery all right there. Also very modest price! Definitely will be back to check out some of the other rooms. Highly recommend.

This stay was just what I needed for a few days of rest & recovery after an accident. Stayed in the Sunflower Casita which is private & super cute. With its own parking spot, we were texted directions & could go right in with the key waiting in the door. I appreciated not having to go to a lobby to check in. We had TWO private tubs for soaking at any time we wanted. One on our patio & one a few steps away. The room was cute. Art, sunflowers, decor. Patio (we moved a chair & table out there to enjoy it more); living room with a hide-a-bed couch (not a futon), an AC, & a strong ceiling fan; a kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee, table & chairs & an AC (there is also a communal kitchen area for cooking that I did not see); a bathroom with a large shower; & a bedroom with a comfy king bed, big smart TV with lots of channels (we logged in to our Netflix/Amazon accounts to watch movies). All with charming sunflowers & folk art decor. I soaked in the hot springs 8 times. It really is healing! I booked a nice massage. In their main lodging area there is a room with a massage table. They have 3 therapists you can choose on their website . I met the patio kitty. It was perfect quiet rest & relaxation for me. But it is located right in the heart of the historic downtown area with lots to see & do within walking distance. I will go back & I look forward to staying there again! The only things that kept me from giving it 5 stars are that the bedroom did not have an AC or ceiling fan (will bring my own next time) and that the hot spring tubs didn't have a cool water valve. It is July & it was 98 outside! A bit more furniture by the tub & in the living room would make it better for "hanging out" - I would have liked a small TV in the living room. Great Wifi & we felt totally safe & secure here - as 2 women traveling alone. This is a wonderful place & I recommend going there. I look forward to going back!

We stayed for a 3-day getaway and loved the centrally located but quiet and friendly location, especially the gated courtyard/patio area. The rooms are nicely funky with good amenities, comfy beds, nice towels, great robes, refrigerator, coffeepot and microwave. One note: there is not an ice machine on site, so if you want ice, bring your own. In-room soaking tub was a plus although possibly a little tricky to climb into for older folks. We really appreciate dog-friendly accommodations, and Firewater did not disappoint. Dog walkers will appreciate the short trek to the grassy areas surrounding the city buildings one block behind and two blocks west of the Firewater.

Richard and his staff have been so warm and welcoming. The room was amazing! Very clean and cozy with plenty of room. The mineral tub was out of this world! I spent hours just soaking in the water and staring at the stars. Heile and Jackie checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Richard sat with us for conservation on more than one occasion, making us feel more like family than tourists. And of course I must give an honorable mention to Boots, who greeted us at the gate. You can't go wrong choosing Firewater for your stay.

My granddaughter loved the firewater lodge so much that she requested to go there on her birthday! 10 years old. Our whole family came and had the best time ever! The accommodations are amazing! There’s a bbq and a kitchen with everything you need. The water is so relaxing and hot. It’s definitely the best place to stay in town!

authentic New Mexican decor, with vintage artsy tiles, and old Spanish tiles and Adobe, it just adds to the ambiance of the private soaking as many hours as desired, in your own tub, in your room. I usually soak the first 24 hours when I arrive. Then I am ready for human contact in the quaint town where you never know what experience you will have. Fire Water Lodge is the place to stay if you want hot springs flowing in the tub in your room!!! Already booking my next vacation here!! You will not be disappointed! The extra little care like turning the heater on in the room before arrival! Very appreciative. I just spent $300 for 1 night in California and it was 47 degrees in the room when I arrived! So these touches go above and beyond & rank high in my book!!

For anyone thinking this place is gonna be a prefab side of the Interstate Hotel, you're going to be disappointed. It's classic old New Mexico. It has some age but that's why it's better than a chain hotel. It's clean, the sheets are fresh and crisp. The baths are hot and that's all that matters.

If you are looking for luxury or even Holiday Inn this isn’t it. It feels like we are back in Route 66 glory days. Restored old travel motel with a great fun colorful NM vibe. We had the room with hot springs tub in it, which was awesome once we figured out how to turn it on. 🤪 Beautiful quiet courtyard and walking distance to restaurants. Heads up, most of the town shops are only open Thursday -Saturday. This was a bummer I had hoped to pick up supplies from local art store. If you are good with a little shabby chic and fun kitschy atmosphere you will love it here.

Richard has truly created a relaxing and nourishing facility in which to experience the genuine geo thermal healing waters of TorC. I have grown to appreciate all of the updates that have been put in since my very first visit. Weather you have yet to visit or are returning, I am sure you will really enjoy the exceptional value and great hospitality of Fire Water Lodge

Everything is perfect. The room is ready for you with the key in the door. Outdoor soaks are available if you're feeling social or you can stay in your private sanctuary. Wonderful experience guaranteed.

Stayed in the Willow Room. Clean, decent room with a seriously huge private bath with very hot water. Courtyard is nice and quiet with a cute resident cat named Boots. To be frank, T or C is not exactly a must-see destination (especially Mon-Wed when all the restaurants and shops are closed) , but we had plenty of fun hanging out for a couple nights and certainly enjoyed the private mineral bath.

Stayed here overnight with some friends and we were all pleased with the entire experience. Staff, rooms, tubs, location, amenities, and price. It was all on point. Even the courtyard kitty was welcoming to us! There are many places in T or C to go for a hot springs experience. From extremely down to earth and low frills to extremely expensive with all the fancy pants amenities. I think we happened to be right in the mid-range with this place and was it was perfect for us. Already planning our next stay at Firewater. Individual experience may vary!

I have stayed at the Fire Water Lodge twice now and I have had a very pleasant stay both times. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and the tub on the private patio was deep and filled quickly. Having a mini fridge with a microwave was nice to save on eating out all the time. Much more reasonable price with very similar amenities to some of the other hotels in town. My only kind of complaint was the room didn't have a curtain in the doorway of the shower. Would recommend them to everyone!

Enjoyed a short weekend here in the Sunflower room. Spacious room and every amenity you need. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Loved the privacy of our very own hot spring tub outdoors. Will be back

We stayed a night recently. The water was very hot coming out of the spring and we needed to cool it with cold shower water (full cold with the hot spring water = excellent temperature). Our tub was plenty big enough for two of us though the description said it was for one. We aren't small. Check your email receipt for check in procedures as things were a bit different than typical. Super easy. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. A bit old and dated, but we seek that out in road lodging. There is a community tub for the few rooms without a built in tub. We were in late on a Sunday night and out early on Monday morning so we didn't see much of T or C. We highly recommend this place! We soaked 3 times, so do the math if you are considering staying at a bland chain place and doing a public soak. This is a real value. The only negatives were the very minimal cable (seemed like only local and QVC type stuff) and we never got hot water from the shower head, but soaking 3 times, it didn't bother us much at all.

This place is amazing. The owner/staff person Shelly is really friendly and the cat in the courtyard. The AC was blasting when you came in so it was already comfortable and the bed was top tier. The water was real hot and relaxing, I’d assume it’s absolutely killer in the fall and winter. Over all I’d definitely recommend it.

We would like to thank Richard and the staff for providing a wonderful experience at this Unique and special lodge. Oh yes and Boots too! The Eucalyptus room was very clean, quiet and very private. The outdoor private geothermal hot mineral large tub was awesome!! Peaceful and calming, the water has a way of making our bodies and our minds feel healthier by just relaxing for 20 minutes at a time. We also enjoyed a small table for two outside to sit and enjoy the waterfall filling the tub. Watching the night sky while in the tub was also a pleasure! Slept the best we have in years after enjoying the tub every night. This was our 50th anniversary and what a memorable and wonderful one it was. We look forward to our next visit.

This was a fun stay. The bath was great. Robes laid out for us. We stayed in the Morning Glory room. So adorable. Southwestern decor. Very clean and comfortable. Definitely will schedule again if we find ourselves nearby in the future. Thank you for a nice couple of nights.

The rooms were very clean with nice amenities with funky and eclectic decor; however our visit was in January and the one tiny portable heater provided didn't work. The tiles outside the entry to our room were missing and the lock a bit awkward. There were no on-site staff of which we were aware, so not sure how quick any concerns would or could be addressed. The parking was quite tight, but location was good for walking to nearby restaurants, shops and brew pub.

My biggest issue with the room was that the bed was not comfortable. Maybe it is just my preference but, I do not care for overly firm mattresses. Be that as it may, this is my reason for giving this place 3 stars. The room itself was rustic and small. I prefer more room around the sink for doing hair and makeup. If you shave, notice the mirror is not over the sink, so that may be an issue. Also the light in the room seemed dependent on having windows open. Which is not ideal during a romantic getaway. The staff was very nice and told us all about the local plants on the property.

It was truly incredible to stay at Fire Water Lodge. Check in process was incredibly easy and I recommend staying in the Desert Rose room with a hot tub right outside your door with privacy. I couldn’t leave this lodge happier.

We stayed in the Datura room. Very comfortable bed, great hot springs tub that doubles as a large shower. Air conditioner worked well even in the July heat. TorC is an odd little town with not that much in the way of good restaurants - our room was a great place to bring back takeout and relax.

I have stayed there in just about every room! I have never been disappointed. They have the best hottest water in town and they let it flow. I stayed at an expensive resort in town and they only gave you 1 hour in the hotspring waters..The owner and employees are super cool and friendly and are there to make you happy,I hope to return very soon!

Great little place! Private hot tub....perfect for you and your sweetie...towels (and robes!!l were provided....the hot tub was awesome....the room was cozy....but it wasn't meant to be spending a lot of time inside though....the central courtyard is pretty big and could be fun if several groups of friends rented the place for the weekend

OK, the booking process was great, and getting in went smoothly. On arrival the place was clean. The tub filled easily and the water was nice, until it got dark. Then the cockroaches came out in force. They were crawling on the side of the tub and all over the porch. Also in and out of the waterfall where the water comes out. Very disturbing and ended or soak on a bad note. Then we found more roaches inside, both dead and alive. Later, we found live silverfish. Had to pack up all our clothes. Overall, just kind of gross. They clearly try and clean the place as it was not dirty, but the roaches and silverfish were just too much. Until they get that under control, I can not recommend this place.

Absolutely amazing. We spent 2 nights of our honeymoon in the River Casita. It was beautiful. The soaking tub overlooking the river was beautiful. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do including the Truth or Consequences Brewery three times where we had Grapevine Bistro food delivered (also amazing). Comfy bed, quiet. 100% will be back. Only recommendation would be hooks out on enclosed patio to hang towels/robes after using hot tub.

The hot springs tub inside the room is amazing! It was such a wonderful experience! We stayed in Room 9. Here are a few interesting observations from that room. The mirror in the bathroom hangs at about 5'6". This is only a minor inconvenience of you're taller than that. I'm around 6' tall, and I had to bend over a little when shaving in the morning. The air conditioning unit in 9 is also interesting. When standing at the foot of the bed, facing the bed, the left side of the bed (closest to the door) gets directly hit by the cold air. The right side of the bed (farthest from the door, closest to the bathroom door) doesn't really get much cold air. If you like warm blankets and a colder room, sleep on the left side of the bed. The right side tends to be much warmer.

We got in late had to scramble for food. Brewery had outside chilly but pleasant dog and covid friendly atmosphere. Did not get to try the hotel restaurant but it was busy. The communal kitchen was very comfortable hippy ish pleasant Christmas breakfast in the morning sun on the veranda. The more expensive in room hot tub was exquisite. (Pictured above) palm trees at Christmas time novel for this Utah boy.

Great spot. We drove down from Albuquerque and stayed in the Sunflower Casita, which was across the street from the main lodge. Room was spacious, 1930s style motel, well furnished, very relaxing. Most of the rooms have in room tubs with the hot springs piped right in, but ours had a private, enclosed metal tub right across from it. Beautiful, relaxing and lovely to take in the hot water in the cool night air. I've been coming to TorC for 10+ years but this was our first time here and I'd highly recommend it. 5/5 and we're looking forward to returning.

We had the best time here while on a work trip. It was the evening of the lunar eclipse, and the perfect end to our stressful 2-week job. The person who helped us with our booking was extremely accommodating, and kept the kitchen open late for us. We were able to make an amazing meal for ourselves using our own food and their tools. We did our best to respect the space in return while enjoying the celestial event. The Agave Room was homey, like staying in a relative's guest room. The hot mineral spring fed bathtub was heavenly. We will definitely be back.

I tried to write a review of Fire Water a couple of years ago, but I had trouble figuring it out and completely forgot until I came across this (sorry, Richard). My husband and I have been going to the lodge for more than 20 years, and we love it. The rooms are beautiful and unique, and always meticulously clean. You can be alone or alone together in your room, or if you want to, you can venture out into the lovely courtyard and perhaps meet other guests. The kitchen is a nice perk, and you're right downtown for shopping, restaurants, and even an old-fashioned local movie theatre. Lots of hiking nearby, and of course, the water is magical.
