This was really beautiful! The cave is huge from the inside. You get to see everything inside. It is very organized and well done. The tour guide is okay. You can't hear everything well. But the views are breathtaking! I recommend going in a ride boat to experience it all. Just make sure you are not claustrophobic, because it might get a but tight inside. But it is 100% safe and worth going inside! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I give 3 Stars cause i felt more on a speed dating with few stops than on a Tour. We were rushing way too fast to the checkpoints where some “special” formations were to see. The Cave in general is beautiful and there is so much to see, once you are able to look a bit around. Costs: 23.5 Duration: 30-40minutes (w/o boat tour cause it were raining) I would recommend an visit but go at the end.

Place is nice and you will walk so long , only the last 10 minutes I like in the boat ⛵ which will take you from caves to outside (extra charges ) . Food items not allowed to take inside caves .

I highly recommend visiting this cave and opting for the boat exit. You get the option of walking out after the tour or taking the boat and the boat is definitely worth the cost I'm not a big fan of the artificially added colored lighting but the cave in itself is naturally beautiful. It feels like you're in a movie scene. Definitely worth going to.

A nice spot to visit, and some advice to all buy tickets to the boat from outside because they don't sell it inside! We had a tour guide who drove us but did not tell us about the tickets thing! So we only went in the cave by foot! Moreover, they start tours with a huge number of people, so you can't hear the tour guide at all because of the VERY long line during walking inside the Cave! There was a lights show however we also missed it because there were too many people and we weren't at the beginning of the line! So the management should either make the groups smaller or let people go on their own!!

Wonderful experience. Must visit destination. Brilliantly designed walkway.. the natural beauty maintained and experienced the wonders of nature. Its a long walk and need some patience. The tour guide may lead you fast, but take your time and feel the cave climate. Don’t forget to visit the fossil exhibits in the visitor center near the ticket counter.

Prometheus cave is real beautiful, there are many formations inside and you have to walk long but there is special track and stairs in the middle of formations and the best part of the trip is that you can click the memories in your eyes and also in your camera or phone. The tour guide was good and bilingual Russian and English so be ready to listen the history twice if u are bilingual. Weather inside is cold but acceptable. There is a point where oxygen is very less and difficult to breath. But if you are patient of asthma there is a cure or relief in this cave. The cave have no history so there is not lot to listen. There is a light show near the exit and it’s wonderful. Don’t forget to buy the boat ticket for way back it’s very nice experience. Total ticket of cave and boat will cost you roughly 40Gel. Highly recommended to visit

We enjoyed our experience here, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The cost to enter the cave 23 GEL each. Very comfortable walking as there is a cement walkway and proper stairs and handrails where needed. Great experience, the lighting made for nice effects 3btraveler

The cave we enormously beautiful! It was well maintained and a must visit place in Kutaisi. You will join an excursion for 1.4 km with a guide to explain everything. Just too bad the water is low when we went there so we didn’t experience the boat ride. Four ⭐️ for now. And will definitely recommend this place to visit in Kutaisi.

Yes, gooo... just pack for bags and gooo... don't worry about reviews... I can confirm you won't regret it a bit.... if you're going in winter, get your jacket, but dress light inside, because down the cave will be humid.... Don't miss out the boat ride, it's the cherry on the cake you don't want to miss...

Great placw to visit and enjoy the prehistoric foot prints as well as amazing nature. The glass bottom viewing deck is something I recommend as it is giving you a birds eye view and great place for pictures.

Really mystic cave with big halls, various kind of stalagmites which looks like statues. Beautiful lights and classic music increase this mystic feelings. Also you can see the part of cave with boat though underground river.

Prometheus Cave is a fascinating yet a bit scary place 🙃 the interior is so raw .. the walking tour is much more fascinating.. you can enjoy a boat tour too..  👍 The constant temperature inside the cave is 14•c so just take a light coat or shawl incase you feel more cold. The total length of the cave is about 11 km, of which 1060 m are open to visitors. The cave has a total of 22 halls, six of which are currently open to tourists.

The trip inside the cave is really amazing, you will enjoy the 1 hour trip with the tour guide. Be careful the floor is very muddy so wear shoes. The ticket price is 23 lari for adults. The boat is 17 lari. You will enjoy the light shows inside the cave 😍. Totally worth going.

Went to this place last November 2021 and I chose to take both guided tour and boat ride inside this 70 million year old cave. It was one of the most amazing places I have been to. Paid about 15 USD for both services I took. This is something you shouldn’t miss visiting when you go to Georgia. It was worth the long drive from Tbilisi❤️✨

If you want to feel prehistoric atmosphere, the cave complex is for you. Dating back 65-70 million years, the Prometheus cave consists of several halls located 45-80 meters below forest/surface with endless stalactites, stalagmites and stalagnates. The path is around 1.420 km, but not too hard to cover it.

What an amazing place. Truly a wonderful experience. The guide spoke in Georgian, English and Russian. The cave was roughly 1400 meters and the whole path was filled with beautiful stalagmites, stalactites and stalagnates. At the end of the tour we paid a bit extra for a boat ride which was a great experience.

Must visit spot in kutaisi. Well organized facility. Multicolored minerals and music with lighting show emphasize all beauty of this place. Temperature inside is 14 degree always. The entrance to the cave costs 23 gel without boat ride including guide who explains history in English, Russian, Georgian .

The cave itself is beautiful. Biggest cave I have seen from the inside (cave as well as the different 'chambers'). I definitely recommend it. You can only go in by booking a tour (you can book online or at the entrance). Do not expect much of the tour. Audio quality is bad and the group is very big. If you're in the back you won't understand anything. You can opt for the boat ride at the end of the tour. This'll take about 10 minutes and takes you out of the cave. From here on there's a small bus which you can take back to the visitors centre (for free)

A visit to this karst cave could be pleasant, if only a some safety rules were observed there. There is practically no trail lighting, no warning signs, direction indicators, step lights, safety ropes or railings. The groups are large, the girl, accompanying us, rushed ahead, illuminating her path with a flashlight and not thinking about the tourists, wandering in the dark. This greatly spoiled the pleasure of contemplating the local beauties. The cave is often closed due to the rise of groundwater, you will only find out about this when you are in front of closed doors, there are no warnings on the website or at the entrance to the object (we try to visit it trice, boat was absent). Extremely disorganized attraction

For families and for those who wants to walk for a little while, it is very nice and good to see but for those who wants and epic adventure I don't believe this is the one although they say that there is a more difficult trail and it is for explorars only. Overall it is a very nice and enjoyable experience for the family and kids.

Purchasing a ticket inside the service center, my suggestion is to purchase a ticket with boat service. Be strong because there are so many stairs you will go through.. for me the moment I go out of the cave using a boat is really amazing 🤗

This cave is about 65million years old, but was discovered in the late 1980s. The caves are well maintained and accessible. There’s also a guide that educates the tourists about the caves. The tourists are taken to the caves in batches. The walking tour costs around 23GEL(non native tourists) The boat tour in cave costs an additional 17.50GE(non native tourists). Though we didn’t take the boat tour, it is recommended to take it.

I have been to various caves and this one definitely stands out. Reason being its size. An extremely large cave, very beautiful through out the whole time you are in there. The visit last approximately 45minutes and you will have a guide that speaks both Russian/English/Georgian. You have set times and you will pay a different price to those who are residing in country. Honestly I'm not bothered that the county makes the statement that Tourists will pay more. Definitely worth it.

The cave is really huge. The lights inside create perfect experience for your sights. Ticket cost is around 17 GEL (5.30€). At some points you will need to wait after ticket purchase as they need to gather the whole group to start the tour. The tour guide speaks both English and Russian.

Nice caves, but a guide didnt stop even for a sec, didn’t explain a bit, and we just ran through without a stop :( The guide said she will be the last to go. Well, she was not and only told to follow the group

It was a long cave but there's pretty much nothing to do. After you walk for 5 minutes you'll realize it's just a cave nothing special about it. It would be nice if there was some climbing route or any sort of activity instead of just walking for 1.5 km.

This was the best experience we had in Kutaisi, very beautiful experience and amazing place. The natural cave was cold from inside, had natural water, and different types of rocks and natural resources. Despite being a spelunker and loving caves since my childhood I had to be disappointed here in Prometheus cave. The frequency of the tour is less than 1 per hour yet tourists are pouring in even in March when I came there were about 40-50 of us in a group. It was so loud and crowded that the whole experience felt impossible to enjoy. The cave itself is really impressive and I know it's not its fault. Some of the chambers are 30m tall and just evoke huge respect. If you are lucky and won't get a full house you will love it. 23 GEL entry and 17 for a boat ride. For Georgia this is quite expensive which reflects the fact that it's mostly visited by tourists. There are other caves in the area which are more local and less pricey, maybe try those.

  • 5/5 Reema Ann M. 1 year ago on Google
Inside of the cave was so beautiful… it is really worth a visit. Inside the cave only 6 halls are open to visitors. There is so much to explore inside. If you want an adventure ride there is also a boating, where we can get a ride through the cave.

  • 5/5 Outsider k. 1 year ago on Google
Nice cave to see, entry only with guide. Small parking in front of turist center, but not too much peoples this year. Great thing is music in two places in cave. You can enjoy visual and sound experience same time. Current price is 17gel, takes about hour to complete. There is bus taking folks back from exit to entry. Guide uses three languages to talk about cave - English, Georgian and orks. Folks are loud in side - you should stop talking and enjoy it quietly.

  • 4/5 Jakub S. 1 year ago on Google
Nice cave. Before visiting I read that it is all lit up in colour, which spoils its natural beauty. This is currently no longer true (September 2022), the stalactites are illuminated with regular light, only one larger hall has a colorful light show going on. However, when planning a trip again, I would leave Prometheus Cave out of my Georgia itinerary, it's not that special, there are nicer caves to see around the world.

  • 5/5 Hani K. 1 year ago on Google
This place is mind blowing, it's a must visit if you are coming to Kutaisi, better to visit not in winter or rainy season, cause we couldn't get the boat trip due to high river level. But the cave experience was crazy, the tour guide was so nice and was explaining everything in Georgian and in English. The view inside, the fresh air, the muddy walls, everything has different experience.

  • 5/5 Andres M. 1 year ago on Google
This is stunning, the longest cave, lovely guides! The path was sturdy and quite spacious so didn’t have to squeeze through, in the end there will be a bust that will take you to the initial start point.

One of the longest and deepest cave in Georgia which is well designed for tourist perspective but it’s not as purest as true nature since they have to build the long passage way, stairs and lightings to facilitate the visitors. The best thing about this Prometheus cave is the boat ride under the dark caves. Overall experience is good

  • 5/5 Darya A. 10 months ago on Google
It's a magnificent place. The cave itself is incredible. And also everything is well thought out, from safety inside to logistics. I recommend taking another boat ride. If it's in season, the cave is also open on Mondays.

Our journey to the Prometheus Caves, located near the enchanting city of Kutaisi, proved to be an awe-inspiring and truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped foot into this magnificent underground wonder, we were transported into a realm of natural beauty that left us is absolute awe. As we ventured deeper into the depths of the caves, we were greeted by a mesmerizing display of stalactites and stalagmites, each formed over thousands of years, creating breathtaking formations that seemed almost otherworldly. The sheer scale and grandeur of the caves were nothing short of astonishing. Massive caverns, adorned with intricate calcite formations, revealed themselves at every turn. The underground river, with its crystal-clear waters, added an ethereal touch to the whole experience. We embarked on a guided tour that expertly showcased the highlights of the caves, providing us with fascinating insights into their geological history and cultural significance. The lighting within the caves was masterfully done, accentuating the natural beauty and creating an enchanting atmosphere. The interplay of shadows and reflections enhanced the dramatic effect, making the entire journey through the caves a feast for the senses.

One magical place to visit when you are in Kutaisi. An amazing cave, which your eyes can't believe to be natural! Entry is in groups and try to be in the front with the guide to properly ‘hear’. It's a 1.4km walk and climb of over a 700 stairs approximate but not that tedious. Return to the main gate is commuted by a bus, hence carry only essentials. Can't use strollers or prams if you have babies, and better to be carried in a baby carrier since it will be tiring for even a toddler. The cave is also lit up in vibrant colors. Must visit place without doubt.

It was a great experience i high recommend it. I was there with my wife and our 3 months baby boy. And had a great time .it was a 1.400km walk throught the cave and then there was a boat ride.

The cave monument is amazing. But the guides were not audible clearly and we missed the boat ride due to low water levels. the walk inside is 880 steps long to be covered in 1 hour as you cannot rest in between as the group moves together. It’s very difficult for people with knee pain and it’s best they rest in the visitor center.

Amazing place with a natural cave system that has been fully explored and developed to suit tourists. Amazing views inside so don’t forget to bring a camera and something to shield it from water dripping above.

Incredible place, mystical at the same time. Guide gives you pretty comprehensive info about the cave and stalactides. It's highly recommended to take a boat ride, but take into consideration that if it's or was a little rain you won't be able to use it.

The caves are really beautiful and a great way to spend time in nature. The air in the caves is so fresh and pure that I felt really refreshed afterwards! A lot of effort has been put in to lighting the stalactites and stalagmites and there is also music that plays towards the end of the tour, which I found to be really magical. There are many stairs to walk up and down so this would not be a good place to visit for anyone with mobility issues. I found the guide very difficult to hear as she was not wearing a microphone and we had a really large group, so it was a pity that I was unable to learn anything about the caves. Highly recommended visiting this place.

It's a great place. Big and long cave, come visit, you won't regret it. Cons: a lot of people in groups (they are noisy and disturbing), the exit is quite far from the entrance, you have to walk up the hill

Must visit Place is quite big. Mostly ppl go there with a tour. It's harder to get here by buses. Going back by boats is cool, but you need to wait about 10 minutes in a queue. Lack of light makes it difficult to take good pictures.

A very large and well-maintained cave. Entrance fee is 23 gel per adult, and you need to wait until there are 50-60 people to start the tour with a guide. Boat tour is optional, but not available every time. Guidance is well enough, but it is a bit hard to listen all the information because of the crowd. Cave is very impressive. Especially the last part with lights and music is very atmospheric.

Great place to visit with family. Pretty big cave, fully equipped for the safest and breathtaking underground walk. Don't forget to take a boat trip at the end of the track! It's really worth it to be there!

Interesting place. Nice cave formations, lights and stuff. We were a huge group (unfortunately), so we didn't hear anything from the guide. Be ready for slippery path and chilly temperature.
