White Penny is beautiful designed hostel. Absolutely stunning architecture. Each piece of furniture is thought through in the entire property But the staff is a major problem. What I noticed was that the manager and the entire team was throughout on their phone playing games and not really bothered about the guests staying. Absolutely lazy people. When I checked in the beds were not made , the toilet was dirty with stains. Nobody bothers to clean the rooms there or even collect the thrash for that matter. The staff has no clue about anything and ask each other for details. Not trained well and definitely with no hospitality skills. No greetings , no smile on the face. And when asked something to be done seems like they are doing a huge favour on us. Plus the construction noise is super annoying. My suggestion is do not open your doors to the guests until your work is complete and your rubbish staff is trained or changed.

Here's a more honest review based on the current situation of the hostel. There's construction going on, so you need to be aware that if you are planning to stay in during the day, it's not going to be peaceful. Other than that, here are the pros and cons: Pros: It's in a great location Beautiful architecture Attracts a quiet and more zen crowd as it's not a party hostel ( Thank God) The staff are pleasant and toilets, etc clean Comfortable bed Cons: My bedding had stains Same for the wall in my bed area Staff are not well versed with the area, when I asked for the nearest cafe, etc they seemed clueless No idea why there's a restaurant but it doesn't open early so we can't have breakfast I am pretty particular about bedsheets etc having stains as it just shows that they aren't attentive to the details. For that, I'm taking 2 stars out because it's my deal breaker.

Best place to stay in Seminyak, I had a great time here, the staffs are very accomodating our needs on a daily basis. Spacious room and clean bathroom. Lots of open space and only a minute walk to Petitenget Beach. They have a restaurant too that serve a variety of meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lots of hip places near there too. Overall a fantastic and affordable place to stay in Seminyak.

Pros: 1. clean comfortable large bed 2. Air conditioner in the room is cold enough, and adjustable with a remote control 3. Location almost right next to the beach Cons: 1. Virtually no advice or service available on arranging taxis, shuttles, or tours. Staff are completely clueless about these. 2. The toilets and shower rooms are badly designed. They are very open to public view. So you have to get dressed inside the shower rooms themselves. Its inconvenient.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at. The hostel has a very rustic vibe while being modern and luxurious. Service is on point and staff is super attentive and friendly. The property is beautiful and looks new. They are also making a restaurant in the compound. There is a shortcut directly from the hostel to motel mexicola. I would give it higher ratings if there was.

I was only at white penny for one night but honestly i wanted to stay more. Such a cute place, very new and clean. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful (helped send me my laptop bag to the airport when i forgot it at the hotel) I stayed in the female dorm with ensuite bathroom and it was amazing. The beds are nice , large and comfortable with a thick curtain for privacy. The bathrooms were super clean. Also when I came back home around 10pm, the girls in my room were already asleep! So i had such a quiet restful night. The location is perfect to get a taste of the nightlife in town. All in all one of the best hostels ive stayed in!

Stayed for 1 night. The staffs at the reception desk are very friendly and accommodating. The beds at the mixed dorm is very clean and comfortable. Good value for price.

I never write reviews but this hostel definitely deserves it. It has been like home to me. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable, they provide towels, bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. I have been in many hostels and this is like a luxury one, in my opinion much better than even most of the 3- or 4-stars hotels I've been. The staff is so friendly and kind, they really care about you. The location is literally amazing, 2 minutes from Petitenget Beach, in the center of Seminyak, close to shops, cafes, restaurants and clubs. Would always repeat my stay there.
