Last Friday I visited Sofi's Restaurant in Surprise. It's right next to the Peter Piper Pizza on Bell. I opted for 3 "mini" tacos. They were full of meat, so much meat I could have made 2 additional tacos. They also threw in some rice and beans which I was not expecting as I didn't order a meal. They had delicious home made hot salsas "chili" that complemented the tacos fantasticly. There was a hot, medium and mild, I only tried the hot and it had some kick. The beans were delicious and had cotija cheese as opposed to the more Americanized cheddar cheese option more commonly used at Americanized Mexican restaurants. I should have ordered some more tortillas so I could have made some additional tacos with the extra meat and beans, next time I'll do that. The wait staff was on it and the service was top notch. If I were being super critical, the only downside I would say is the dining space. It seemed a little cold (decor wise) and could maybe use some more decorations. I like booths and there were mostly tables, but besides that minor critique, 5 stars. Bottom line: good quality food at a very reasonable price and good service. A huge plus for me, locally owned and not a chain.

This place is great. The service was awesome and the food was great. I got the chili rellano.. it was delicious!

I love this place. The kindness of the people who work there make it seem like heaven. The food is amazing. There just isn't anything better anywhere. When I leave, I feel well nourished. I've been there only two times so far. I am just starting. There is an American menu also. But I think I will try everything on the Mexican menu before exploring the steaks and burgers. But when I do, I am expecting to get the best hamburger I have ever had. Next time I eat there, I will get 2 or 3 meals to take home so that I can enjoy this exquisite cuisine for a couple days at home.

I kept hearing about this place in the Sun City Chit Chat group on Facebook. I told my Mama we need to go give it a try, because other pics the food looked good and authentic. And this day, I was craving some really good beans. I ordered the beef flautas and rice n beans. The beans were so very good, just like if I made them at home. The rice was tasty. And the flautas & guacamole sauce lacked seasoning. But I still ate them and added salt. My Mama ordered the red chicken enchiladas, rice and beans. And she ate everything on her plate. I also, tasted the chicken enchiladas and they were tasty!! The Chips were fresh made as the salsa. The price for both of our meals was $20 and some change. We both drank water. That is a steal!!! We will be back to try breakfast next time. P.S. We got our food very fast, we didnt wait very long.

I love this place and we love to support local businesses so we heard about this place from a couple of friends from the Recreation Center of Sun City. The food is great, the prices are reasonable and the people are very friendly. This is my second time. Best salsas I’ve ever had. Recommended 100%

We had breakfast at Sophie’s today. Huge & tasty breakfast burrito & my husband had eggs with pancakes. All was delicious with great prices. Everyone was friendly with very fast service. We’ll be back!

Nice place to eat, great food, service. Owner was our server, great sense of humor, just wish they had carnitas on the menu. The owner explained why the didn't so I understand that part.

First visit. Wife loved the special Chile Relleno's but my meal of street taco's had way too much salt! The chicken in the tacos was very tender but again way too much salt. Salt should be something a customer asks for if they want it. Don't just pour it on the food. Don't know if we will be back.

What a great little restaurant I just stumbled upon it and I'm so glad I did. Best beans ever and the carne asada quesadilla was delicious! Their secret salsa best ever and Sofi is a hoot you can tell she loves what she does and her customers love her. I will be back
