It was quite a ride up to Summerhaven the town at the top of Mt. Lemmon! Gorgeous! It goes from Saguharo cactus to tall pines! The views are breathtaking! There are several hiking paths and day and over night camping areas. So beautiful the road is windy so be prepared, it took us about an hour and 20 minutes one way. But it's well worth it it's gorgeous! Summerhaven has eateries, like Iron Door, gift shops, a Post Office and cabins. It's good to patronise these places as they survived a wildfire in 2020.

The drive up is awesome! It's about an hour from Tucson, and it's so cool that you can go from desert to mountains fairly quickly. Especially if you want to get away from the heat for a bit. There are lots of trails, lots of views along the way if you don't want to go all the way to Sunnyvale. But, the general store has some legendary fudge. And it gets more mountainy and less crowded the further up you go. Worth at least a try.

It's making a good comeback after the big fire in 2020.

My daughter and I rode the Mount Lemmon Ski Valley Lift to view the autumn colors. We had been talking about going up the ski lift since last year. We had an incredible birds-eye view of the autumn colors, mountains, and huge pine trees. The ride is a very relaxing 15 minutes each way, and discounts are offered for seniors and students. We took our time walking around at the ski level before taking the life back down.

A wonderful mountain range just north of Tucson. Lots of hiking opportunities in both low and high elevations. Cold and possibly snow in the winter to hike and snowshoe in, and cool temps at high elevations even in the summer.

I really enjoyed coming up here. First time coming up here and it was beautiful. Went for a run from the ski area to the top and will be coming back up here more.

The lift was closed, however some perfect scenes were enjoyed. I discovered some ladybug covered flowers.

Beautiful area with a great selection of well maintained and well marked trails. Lots of scenic vistas overlooking Tucson, Mt Lemmon, and the surrounding canyons. Plenty of ways to access the Natural Area.

Beautiful place for backpacking and camping. I have nothing but good things to say. Arizona has a lot of great hiking but the Santa Catalina area is by far my favorite. It has a little something for everyone.
