If you are driving I 40 through Tucumcari, detour to this taco truck. They're awesome! The tortillas are really good, the al pastor was very tasty and tender, and the carne asada was really good. I always prefer pork, but the beef was surprisingly flavorful. That red/orange cremosa has a kick.

Great food, make sure you come hungry. Large portions and taste was awesome. The molcajete was delicious. We also had aguas frescos. The watermelon and cantaloupe flavored were our favorites. Friendly, helpful staff. Be sure to visit downtown Tucumcari NM for a memorable Mexican meal.

Have you ever heard of a Mexican restaurant that doesn't have queso? Now you have. Bloody Mary's? Scratch that too. This place is like the pub with no beer. Food is all bland. The only spice is squirted on with the red sauce, and it wasn't tasty...just hot. I needed a second soda to wash things down, but they don't have free refills, and I honestly just wanted to leave quickly. *Update: I only ate less than half of my meal. It has been half an hour now, and I'm getting sharp pains in my stomach. Not good when you're on a road trip going through the desert. Thank God the wife and I have a big roll of shop towels!

Awesome Huevos Rancheros. Not the traditional New Mexican version which is served all over. Excellent take on a salsa/ranchera sauce. A must try!!!!

Very reasonably priced. Large parking area. If you're on a trip, hungry, and need a minute to rearrange the vehicle/ people in the vehicle this is the perfect place to stop. Had a shredded beef burrito and the picture does not do it justice. Check out the menu online to save time.

We were staying nearby and craving Mexican food. So we decided to give this place a shot and was really pleased with the food. We ordered carne asada steaks and a burrito. The food was so tasty and they were quick with it. Loved the friendly service too 😊

Service was great! The refried beans were the best I’ve ever had. Hot sauce and chips were good too. Will go back!

I was on the road and decided to try this place for lunch. It was delicious! The salsa was so yummy and had the right amount of spicy to it. I ordered the mulitas and they were awesome. Getting hungry just thinking about them! There are cool murals on the walls and they play good music. Recommend stopping in!

We stopped here on our drive coming from Houston to our overnight stop in Santa Rosa, NM and we’re glad we did. Right away we were greeted by James who seated and served us. He was very welcoming and friendly and we saw him interact with other customers in the same manner. The food was delicious and quickly served. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. Kudos to the owner! James let us know that the owner started out with a food truck and worked his way up to this restaurant that only opened 4 or 5 months ago.

A diamond in the rough. While traveling across the country, I came across this delightful place. The young man that waited on us was extremely polite and a great waiter. Food was very good, the restaurant's murals were done great. Kids were equally happy with the food and experience. Street parking. The town is run down many places abandoned and falling apart. If other businesses would do as this one did, it could be turned in a wonder area. I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent food, of course! We got our order to go (Chile relleno plate, flautas plate, and a mess of asada tacos) but I was sorry to leave: the smell was amazing and it brought my mom (from CA) so much joy to be in a place with familiar smells and sounds. Highly recommend!

Stopped for night at local hotel on our way home. We googled places to eat and Las Chaparritas got our attention. Boy, are we glad we ate here. Service was spot on, place was clean and food delicious. It was served hot with lots of melted cheese! The flavors were rich and spicy. We wish we lived closer!
