Easy to book online. The Lobby was open, and the gentleman checking us in let us know the lobby is open until 11pm. The room door was a little iffy - it was a basic hollow wood door with no sound insulation. Lucky for us the parking lot was empty. I will be honest and admit I was a little skeptical about booking a small older motel, since we mainly stay at newer well known chains. This was the cleanest bathroom/shower/sink I have seen in a long time. The water pressure in the shower was beyond amazing. We stayed in late January, so it got very cold at night. The in-wall ac/heater worked perfectly and kept the room nice and cozy. This is as basic a motel as it gets, but it is clean, quiet and well worth the price. Pets are welcome but only a limited supply of pet-friendly rooms; be sure and book ahead if traveling with a pet. We would definitely stay again should we pass by on another travel.

Nice staff and wonderful owners. Cheap rooms that are very comfortable. I been staying at this motel for years when passing through. Much better than motels in Santa Rosa.

We were on a Route 66 road trip and found this cool little motel. I hate motels (I watch to many movies) but after seeing the reviews, we decided to stay. Owner was beyond nice, room was clean, smelled clean, nice and cool, quiet. Bed was comfortable. I would definitely recommend if you are passing through to stay here!

The woman who owns the place is very, very nice! We had an incredible conversation with her. The rooms were incredibly clean. I do recommend a small fridge and microwave in rooms other than the suites. We had a room without a fridge and microwave. It made our food storage a little more complicated.

Simple, clean, spacious, and quiet. Sheets are nice, towels are supple and plenty, bed and pillow just the right firmness. We loved the vintage charm at the historic motel. Friendly front desk with great restaurant recommendations. At $92 a night (with tax), this is a gem. We loved the little touch of the designated towel for cleaning shoes and wipe down the car windshield. Internet is spotty at times. Can use additional outlets by the nightstands. Overall, it was a comfortabe stay and good night sleep! We would stay again.

The room was clean, quiet, comfortable. No fridge or personal care amenities, or breakfasts. The office is closed from 11pm to 3pm the next day, so no early check-ins. I stayed two nights and felt very comfortable. There are two eateries up the road, Del's and Kix, that have good food and friendly servers.

Outstanding service from the gentleman at the front Office. Super friendly. The little motel is amazing. As a truck driver I’ve seen many hotel/motels already but hands down this motel by far the best. Vintage, clean, big enough and comfortable. Also pet friendly but book in advance. On the website the booking is really easy and fast. We had just a night stay, but whenever we are back in this area we will look no other place to stay.

Great beds. Friendly owner happy to let us check-in late. Cool Route 66 Motel. I gotta say it's handy to park right in front of your room. Clean room.

I’ve stayed at this property before pre-pandemic and it was pleasant. I returned again recently post-pandemic and the effects of reduced tourism is showing. The stay wasn’t as satisfactory as before. The property showed signs of deferred maintenance. Signs of wear and tear. A couple of abandoned cars in the parking lot. One with all flats so it’s been sitting a while. The Wi-Fi was terribly spotty and difficult to connect to. Was faster to use data. I know these motels are struggling. I didn’t mind giving my money there, but I’d really like to see the property spruced up before I stay again.

Kooky Route 66 town. This motel has been meticulously restored. The sink is made from petrified wood. Super friendly owners. So glad we stayed here.

We were looking for a place to stay for the night and found this little gem. We got a king room that was very large and clean. This place has that route 66 vibe that we were looking for at a great price. Very well maintained motel. Don't miss this place when looking for a nice quiet room.

Driving by on Route 66 looking for fun motel and saw this interesting place with airplanes and very low chairs in front of property. Walked up to look at chairs and some guy came out of office yelling at me…’Can I help you!?’ (As if I had crossed a ‘no trespassing’ sign. Or I was going to steal something). It was just a chair in front of a motel… Told him I was just looking at the chair… and he walked away without any further communication. Very strange and not welcoming. Felt very uncomfortable and left. Definitely would not decide to stay based on this odd, unfriendly verbal assault. No wonder these businesses are going under.

We had to stop to get our car fix and had to stay over night. Robert recommend and called this place for us. Great, very clean place, and friendly staff. Has mini refrigerator, microwave, and tv.

My aunt and I were traveling Route 66 and made a last minute reservation here. The owners were very welcoming and offered great recommendations for nearby restaurants. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

I wanted Route 66 as part of my vacation experience. The Motel is quaint but not outdated. The bed is good. There are no amenities, just a good place to stay the night, shower, and be on your way. The price was really reasonable too. The room is a good size.

I loved staying here, so quiet and friendly. The room actually felt warm and cozy almost as if it was home. If I'm back in the area again I most definitely going back. Thank you guys for the welcoming stay at your motel. We will be back again, keep your homely welcome sign and smile shining. Happy 4th.

Very cool little motel and exceptional customer service. Beds are old, room is old, but it's all in theme, and good value. Pet-friendly!

A fun little slice of Americana on Route 66. Rooms are ok but don't expect any extra amenities. If you want to experience a blast from the past, this motel may be worth trying.

Overshadowed by the place down the road with the neon sign 🤔 this motel is a gem. Seemed deserted when I arrived mid afternoon but I received a welcoming check-in - and a recommendation and menu for a local place - and a wonderful room. Very classic in style - in a good way! - and immaculately clean. And it's Pet-Friendly! No Frills basic lodgings, but very comfortable - and did I mention clean? 😁 also felt very safe, oft an issue with solo traveling, however experienced you are. Thanks !! 👍

Second time staying here st the Historic Route 66 Motel. Clean, comfortable, parking directly in front of the room, the heat was turned on, and pet friendly. The area has changed in 5 years with more businesses closed, even more of a ghost town feel, but the Motel is nice.

The hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, the parking area felt safe, and the hotel clerk that made the reservation for us and checked us in was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The dogs were welcome too for only a $10 fee which beats anywhere else we called in town. We'd stay here again.

Was a great room until my 70+ year old dad was woken up by getting stung by a scorpion! Asked to be put in another room and was denied. Asked for the room to be cleaned. Denied!. We will NEVER stay here again!

Went to take pictures by the planes and after we took the pictures we looked at the planes and we had touched them for around 1 minute or so until a staff member came outside and specifically targeted me. She yelled “NO TOUCHING THE PLANES” in an unfriendly manner but however there was no sign that said don’t touch the planes. If she would have came up in a nicer way instead of yelling I would have understood. In my opinion it doesn’t make sense to have planes out front and not expect people to touch them.

We researched all the motels we stayed at on our recent Route 66 motorcycle trip, including prices and amenities. Every single stay we had was problem free with the exception of this one motel. We pulled up to be greeted by what seemed like a ghost town motel. There were no guests and no-one was in the office. We called and called to no avail. Turns out there is a note taped to the door that the office is closed til 3 PM and we were there on Texas time so we were an hour early. We waited in the heat til finally someone arrived - and argued that we were on the wrong time. Sorry! When we went to register there was a price difference from what we were quoted. Seems the price quoted that included tax did not include tax. When we questioned about this mistake we were told that there are other motels we could try if we wanted to. What? So we took a cheaper room. We went to the room assigned and parked the bike in the only shade we could find - on the sidewalk against the building (there was no-one else in the hotel). It was really hot at 3PM and we were going to be going out and I didn't want to grab a handful of hot metal from sitting in the sun. We went into the room and peeled out of our riding clothes and cranked the A/C. About 10 minutes later there was a loud bang on the door and the manager told my wife in a very harsh way to move the bike or leave. He then said he would refund our money, and we should go. We were getting dressed and he banged on the door again and "escorted" us out. These people were extremely rude. We stayed at the Rodeway Inn just down the street - $40 cheaper and we were asked to park directly in front of the office window under the overhang - in the shade.

Bait and switch. I called to ask if they had dog friendly rooms available for the following night. The person I spoke to said I know we do but I will just check and said yes and the price would be $75 and took my name for reservation. When I arrived at dusk that next night, I was told the price would be $97 because of the dog. I said well I was told $75. They said well that was without the dog, maybe they didn't know you had a dog. And I said when I arrived you said "you have one dog right?" and they had to acknowledge it was noted that I had a dog. But they would not honor the price quoted to me. This is like ordering a meat lovers pizza and being told it's $15 and when get there they say oh that price was for a cheese pizza but the actual meat lovers pizza you ordered will be $25. Why tell me a price that isn't related to what I was reserving? Then to make it worse, they recommended another place nearby that was cheaper. It was now dark and that place was gross, I even got 3 bedbug bites on my arm from it but fortunately none hitchhiked home with me. I didn't have service so I couldn't check the reviews before I stayed there. If Historic Route 66 Motel had been honest about the price from the start, I would have kept researching and found another well-reviewed place to stay before I got to town after driving all day. There are actually a lot of cool motels in the area and they all seemed to have availability.

Rolled in at 10:30 pm looking for a room. I was looking for an inexpensive room with 2 beds. The gentleman at the desk was kind enough to give me a fair price but also recommend a few places down the road if I was looking for something cheaper. After checking out his recommendations I came back and booked my room here. I mean, you get what you pay for and this room was worth every fairly priced penny. Being able to back my car in right in front of my room was such a perk. The room was quiet, incredibly comfortable and extremely clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
