Stopped here hungry after a long day at Lava Beds. Looks like new owners reopened the restaurant last week after a year of being closed. Jojo was accommodating and made us an excellent vegan burrito on request. If you are vegan or vegetarian stop here and ask!

Phenomenal food and people. The food was so delicious. Super fresh food that you can tell a lot of passion was put into making it. One of the best restaurants around. From the waitress to the Chef you couldn't ask for a nicer group of people. I love the back room where it's a little private. Make sure you get dessert! The cheesecake and pies are amazing. Can't wait to send all my friends and family there.

Awesome little place practically in the middle of nowhere. The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, the food was excellect with locally sources potatoes for chips and fries, horse radish and homemade bread for buns and rolls, it just doesn't get any better as far as the best of rural home cooked meals and desserts, the prices were great for what we got in this current time....if your in the area and pass it by, you'd have missed out :(.....don't miss out!

Out of nowhere. We were tired and hungry and needed to park 2 Toy Haulers. Burgers were great, BLT, great. Place was filled with locals I assume, and they were all super friendly. Thank you

The Mexican food was really great! We ate dinner here, I ordered the chile rellenos which came with rice and a side of beans, and all of it was delicious. There were many customers inside and the servers were kind and attended to us very well. If this place was near me I would go again.

01/20 Most phenomenal experience. Drove 30 miles to get the best waitress, best food and best bourbon pecan pie ever. 02/25 Going To Capt. Jack's Stronghold Restaurant is a wonderful experience. Everything is locally sourced, for example they will get the potato's from the potato farm and it makes the best fries, the food is wonderfully cooked and the atmosphere is homey and fun.

This place was just a little building that didn't look like much, but WOW! What a stick of dinomite [because, like dinomite very big explosions can come in very small packages]! The service was spectacular, even though we arrived from Carson City just before they were closing. Even from outside the windows as we approached we never saw so much as a hint of the usual drop shoulder pouting that so many other places openly show two hours till closing. No ma'am! Totally professional and about as friendly as the family we were in route to visit [ my awesome parents ]. The ONLY thing a can say against this truly one of a kind place is "location", and it's because the whole group with me that day wishes it was located closer to our home! That however, is why Captain Jack's Stronghold is a MUST STOP! If you don't travel that route daily you may miss out not stopping at least once. Thank You to all the staff there that evening, customer service, and cooks alike. It was truly an awesome experience.

We had the prime rib and it was great. Our server was so sweet. Next time going for the Mexican food. Definitely going back.
