*new edit 07/08/22 Went again today. Second time with just myself and my man, no charges, as we did not occupy a camping spot but some shade relief under trees! Met tons of cool people enjoying the water. Everyone in great spirits. Water a bit lower than last visit by a few feet but still nice and moving. Stayed about 2.5 hours and got some quick lunch at the store at the highway. Our new Go-To spot for summer, for sure!*hra. 07.08.22 Excellent place to stay on the river for a day/nights. Camping rates very reasonable. Very clean around the camping areas and portapotties available. We went for a few hours and enjoyed it a lot! Ton of river outfitters for floats, kayaks and rafting.

I love peytons place its one of the farther places you can go. If you take the long trip there are tons of places to stop and jump off into the water. Even tho it was crazy busy they got us on the water fast. It would make things faster if you print out the liability waiver online ahead of time.

The Best Place on the River! Wouldn’t hang at any other landing on the Illinois! The hospitality here from the whole crew is amazing!

Peyton’s place has always been my favorite. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and super helpful. I’ve never had an issue with equipment that they didn’t actively fix on the spot. I will always kayak/raft with this company and highly encourage others to check into this company.

Excellent experience. The camp grounds are well taken care of plently of space for those wanting to camp in RVs or primitive camping in tents. The float trip was wonderful despite the rain and our bus driver had a wonderful sense of humor plus he always waved at other drivers. Overall I would go back again and again

Stayed at Peyton's Place for a Friday float trip. We had a great stay in their log cabin. The store was well stocked and the staff was fantastic, everyone we spoke with was helpful and very pleasant. The young men that took us out and picked us up from the float were awesome and the entire trip was fun.

This is our go-to spot to kayak the river. We’ve always had a great experience and they’re SUPER friendly! Be sure to reserve in advance for the weekends, because they fill up fast. We’ve already been 5 times in the last couple of months!!!

In all the chaos of the floating of the river.....I managed to maneuver my way through the ocean of people waiting in lines to get their rentals. I walked to the register and there stood a smiling face ready and willing to help and answer questions. What a breath of fresh air for a first timer floating the Illinois river! Had the most amazing time!!

It's awesome! But I really wish they'd try to do something with all the poison ivy/oak/sumac. Every year, we have a blast. But almost guaranteed to come home with poison something if your camping. Lol. All good. All worth it! Great times!

Great place! Lots of fun! If you do the 11 miles it is very long!!! Only complaint was at the end once you get to the final spot where you leave your float and gear. Employees were too busy talking to even notice us. We had to go ask them where they wanted the gear. They didn’t give us any instructions or cared to help. Put the gear on the trailer and left float on the the shore due to lack of instructions.

Love this place! Great place for friends or family gatherings. We hang out in the river some days and take the long float trip with a 12+group of friends and family. normally stay a couple of times during the summer about 5 days each visit.

Great place to rent your rafts, driver was friendly and informative, but the a frame cabins aren't worth the price. Cobwebs everywhere. When I booked i told them it was myself,my husband and 2 teens,I asked for an extra blanket for my teens and they acted like it was a big deal,1 lady said I put an extra sheet in the room🤦‍♀️a sheet isn't a blanket, but the other lady went ahead and gave me 1. You have a 2 night minimum to book a cabin which wasn't a big deal for us but maybe to someone else. We only stayed 1 night just because it was so uncomfortable. They do have a grill you can use which is nice if you are planning on staying awhile with a covered picnic table. We liked that they were pet friendly because we are a famliy that likes to bring our well behaved pets everywhere with us. They do get busy so make for sure you are there early before everyone piles in. For the most part the staff were great and it was a fun trip for my famliy. O and the water does get very hot in the shower.

Peyton's place was amazing. We will be going back for sure! Our new family vaca spot. The park was clean, staff was extremely nice, professional and approachable. The float was even better. We pre planned and our wait time was under 10 minutes. They was ready for us. We had the bus to ourselves, we was treated with the up most respect. Don't listen to these bad reviews. Those are from young immature dummies. Becky and her crew are amazing. It's family friendly, if u have kiddos and are looking for a safe spot, this is it! We stayed 5 days and never had one issue, other than it was too short! Hopefully b back next month. Definitely next summer

We enjoyed our stay here. Though we booked a pull through RV site and it certainly wasn't pull through. It was pull your trailer up and then have to disconnect and drive through and around the campsites next to you. But they were clean, utilities worked as required, and got the price, it was a decent campground.

I've been using them for years, definitely make a reservation though if you're floating on the weekend. The campgrounds are nice with several options for RVs, tent camping and individual bathrooms at the office if you're only floating, canoeing, etc. And remember no glass on the river, the patrols are out.

Went for 4th July weekend which was packed! We stayed in our RV, and had a great float. My problem is the bathhouse/restrooms stayed nasty. By nasty I mean used feminine products just thrown under benches in the showers. I realize this is no error in the management but the people who stayed. Still gross though. They only have one bathhouse/restroom building so there was also a ton of tent campers so lines for the showers were ridiculous.

Well this is the 3rd year in a row that we have booked with Peytons place and this will be the last time. The room was very dirty. The toilet was nasty and had feces stuck to it. The sheets had dust on them. Went to get the coffee pot ready and it was DISGUSTING. Needless to say, we won't be back. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Had a lot of fun and normally do the 12 mile float but this time only did the six and it didn't seem a whole lot shorter even though it was half of the trip had a great time and will be back

Amazing place!!!, my personal favorite. Best landing of any float operation on the river. Staff are friendly and courteous and always helpful. The occasional bald eagle sightings are a bonus as well. The wife and I spend 3 to 4 months a year going as often as we can and the remaining months wishing we were. If you ever manage to get out there any given summer weekend chances are you will find us there lol.

Great float trip! River was a little low but we didn't have to get out. Such a busy day on the river, but everyone was in good spirits!
