The paid parking situation is terrible, and you have to walk a lot from the parking lot to the gate. And there are Porta potty for restroom. It's incredibly hot in June, so we took plenty of frozen water bottles that helped a lot. However, it's worth seeing this ancient port city which was very advanced.

Get a local guide if you can to understand a lot more of the history of what you are seeing. There are info boards outside of some of the ruins otherwise. It's very hot there with little shade so bring appropriate clothing and water. Combine that with getting there very early (8am open) to make the best of the heat but also experience some of it before the crowds come (it's get busy). Note also you have to walk 10 mins from the entrance before passing through the stone wall into the site. Worth going once for sure.

We came here as part of a tour. But I think you can come here on your own. You have to pay for parking then entrance fee. The ruins are beautiful and there is an ocean view if you climb up a little bit. Also lots of iguana looking around, which was an added bonus for sight seeing.

Must visit, honestly we expected it to be smaller but we were pleasantly surprised as to how big the site is! I think it was 85 pesos entry fee and it was more than worth it. There's a small shop where you can buy water (recommended on hot days as there's not a lot of shade). There's also info signs that explain the Mayan culture, so a plus for history/culture buffs. After your visit you can go to the beach on foot as it's maybe 5 minutes (tops) away, make it a full day trip!

Very amazing place to go and see. It's super hot, but it was so worth it. Make sure to wear sunscreen and bring water. We didn't bother with a guide. We wanted to take our time. Definitely take advantage of the shady spots to sit for a minute and cool off. Unfortunately with it being summer time the sea was full of sargaso and was dark brown instead of its normal beautiful turquoise. But still very pretty.

Amazing views! I love exploring ruins, but unfortunately there were a lot of restrictions in this one, to preserve it of course. I didn't mind it, but if you want to take pictures inside certain temples, don't expect to find that here. Otherwise, I think it's an amazing spot to learn more about the mayan culture and enjoy breathtaking views!

It's should be a natural park but I felt like you couldn't do anything. They were constructing literally everywhere and there's only one main road where you can go. The nature is beautiful but you can't get off the road and into the dense forest which is such a shame. Wildlife is amazing here and I'd love to see more of it but couldn't find a place to go into 'nature'. You have to pay 58 pesos for an entry wristband and sit in traffic to wait to get in or out. I expected to be able to see more

If you're in the area, this is a must visit. Do not be fooled by aggressive vendors along the road. Park and purchase tickets directly at the gates. People wearing official looking attire will do everything to fool you into purchasing from them, but do not bite.

Quite expensive compared to ruins in Cobá or Palenque. You have to pay 58$ for entry to biosphere reserve and 90$ on top of that for ruins. The place is currently under construction so the way to the ruins is confusing. We were missing some proper maps to show us that we could go on the beach as well. Ruins were nice as they are close to the sea. Some of the views were impressive. Quite crowded.

Be advised that the park is under restoration. Some areas are closed. Visited September 2023. Highly recommended drink water, wear natural fabric, hat, and sunglasses. Must use mosquitoes 🦟 repellent. Parking area is about 10 minutes walking from the entrance .

Beatiful and amazing. Sights to ocean are wonderful. In front one the largest coral riff in the world. A drawback Some descriptive sights need to be maintained, letters have disappeared.

Just beautiful... and hot! pack a lot of water, take an umbrella or hats at the very minimum. There is a lot of walking involved so be sure to wear comfortable footwear and clothing.

This place is really amazing. It’s a little bit of a walk but not too far, But do bring comfortable walking shoes. You don’t get a chance to climb on any of the structures but they’re still really cool. And there’s lots of Mexican chicken down there as well. Bring a hat and suntan lotion. Do you wanna visit this place at least once during your trip to Cancun.

Beautiful park, well managed and cleanly kept. The line to get in was pretty long but a guy (not sure if he was with the park or not) let us pay him $5 to skip it. We went on a Sunday, there were a lot of people there but it still didn't feel overly crowded.

we were not in the park itself, but on the beach with turtles and stingrays we bought with great pleasure. On the way, drive closer to the beach, not listening to the Mexican barkers that you need to park your car right next to them. Parking costs $20 and $50 pesos. The cost of swimming with turtles is $400 pesos per person. But we went away from the central beach and swam ourselves and saw a huge turtle with fish on its shell. Enjoyed to the fullest.

The ruins are beautiful, worth a visit. Go early to avoid the crowds. The stairs do to the beach were closed off on our visit. but go prepared. 1. The ruins park and most shops/sellers around are cash ONLY 2. It is hot and sunny for most of the walk around the park. It's bigger than you expect. But it is an ancient village. Wear a hat, comfortable shoes and carry water. 3. You will Hustled by people trying to convince you to park right by the entrance,it's a fair walk from there. They'll expect cash for allowing you to park, so a taxi might be easier. There's loads of beach clubs/ beaches near by. Double up the trip.

Was fantastic but the main section is closed off and you can't walk in which wad a bit of a buzz kill. Also it is very hot, make sure you dress light and apply sunscreen prior to going.

Pretty cool place. I didn't know that the second largest reef was located here. The lines are pretty long but if you take a tour you can get in faster.

Great archeology site,no shade, nothing food/drinkwater inside site. probably need 90mins to see it all 90pesos entry if you're not doing it as part of an excursion

Awesome place. Great value compared to other nearby archaeological sites nearby. The structures are impressive. The views of the Caribbean from the cliffs were great

I liked the site a lot! The architecture and the landscape are really beautiful! Definitely worth a visit if you come to Tulum. Also the entrance ticket has a fair price (just 85 pesos). It gets extremely crowded and it could seem more like an amusement park in some hours during the day, which is really annoying. But this is a bit what happens everywhere on the Riviera Maya. Just get out of this area guys, it's too touristy and expensive. There's much more authentic and local stuff to see in other states in Mexico! 😉

The park was well kept and had good views. Beach road was blocked off. So we had to park either on the road or pay to park at a beach club. It's better to use the alternative entrance.

Great ruins but infested with selfie obsessed tourists since it’s right next to the big hotels. There are other Maya ruins along the coast with the same style and 1% of the people you’ll find here. Entry is 85$

I would give 4.5 stars if I could. Only reason not to give 5: it"s crazy driving there on the long narrow road with no shoulder, people walking and biking anywhere - be patient and pay attention! Otherwise, very interesting, educational. And beautiful. Enjoy.

Only mayan ruins located on the coast! Ruins are small compared to to Chichen Itza but a great experience! Be sure to bargain with the tour guides! There is an entrance fee and a tax...these 2 add up to 148 pesos per adult. Be sure to keep your bracelet if you want to go swimming in Playa Paraiso 😎
