A serene weekend getaway near Bangalore. The location is perfect for relaxation with family and friends, featuring a unique Jain temple with Peacock Feather broom architecture. There's ample parking and a trek with 435 sculptured steps leading to breathtaking views on top of a monolithic hillock. Snacks, natural drinks, and a washroom are available at the bottom. The temple is accessible by car too. Although cars are not allowed till the hilltop on weekends, autoriksha is available if you want to skip the steps. The serene vibes, nearby lake, makes it a must-visit place just 90km from Bangalore. A peaceful, natural escape for picnics and photography.

Nice place to spend half a day. Still under construction as of Dec 2022. You can either climb the 400+ steps or drive to the top. The auto walas and parking guys have ganged up and don't allow private cars. The govt needs to handle such people.

A great serene weekend getaway from Bangalore. The location is perfect for a calm and relaxing experience with family and friends. The Jain temple has an unique and beautiful architecture of the Pinchi - a Peacock Feather broom used by Jain monks. Plenty of parking space for cars and bikes. Next, you can walk to the nearby monolithic hillock. The neatly sculptured 435 steps trek to the top is superb. The climb is worth the effort with undeterred cool breeze and fantastic scenic views. A must visit. The temple on top of the hillock is unique and most suited for a relaxing experience. Snack and natural drinks are available at the bottom of the hillock along with a decent washroom. For those not able to trek up the hill, you can drive up to the back entrance of the temple. Visit between 6am-6pm. Total stay duration of 3-4 hours.

Its a Unique Jain temple. Situated close to Bangalore. We can see bahubali statue close to the peacock feather broom type looking temple. It's a beautiful temple. You can take good pictures here. Also there is hill next to this place. As of now the temple above the hill is still under construction. There are about 430steps. Behind the hill you can see an amazing Lake view. Also there are no good hotels or restaurants nearby. You need to go back to the city for the same

Perfect for a quick visit; the hill and the lake. You can climb up the hill then take the road in the back to the lake; good hiking. There is also a little fall at the lake but only forms during the rain for extra water. The road from the lake to the hill is also perfect for little off-roading if you have such a Vehicle. The temple is beautiful.

It's more than 60 kms from Bangalore. This place is not at all worth the effort to travel for more than 2 hours and visit. People who follow Jainism, for them this place be worth it but for people who are looking for a weekend getaway, please don't visit here it can be a disappointment for you. The view from the top of hill is nice but one needs to climb 500 stairs to see that, again not worth it.

This place is 80km away from Bangalore near tumkur, which is very nice, scenic and trekking place..You have a Jain statue, a meditation centre and a hill top temple for which you need to climb 500-600 steps. During sunset the scene is worth watching. It is a one day excursion place. The temple closes at 5 pm so if your coming from Bangalore start accordingly . You need minimum 2 hrs to go around the place. You have toilets and small eatery places hence can visit with family for picnic as well.

60+ km from Basavanagudi Bangalore, approximately 1.5 hours journey in car, one can plan for an half day visit, the foot steps (400+) are slightly steep and not easy climbing, but good for weekend, there's a way for car to drive entry near from lake which is behind the hill, but due to mud road the car driving is slightly risky as it slips, the lake is good for spending sometime, above the hill there are 3 Jain temple, 800 years old temple, now they are renovating temple and the neighboring place, sunset is awesome view from top of hill, no toilet on hill though, there's one but not clean,

Beautiful calm place - a Digambara Jain temple but everyone is welcome. Went there in weekend and below are observations. 1. Ample parking space. You can take your vehicle to the top after 4.30pm on weekends. Weekdays no restrictions. 2. The dome and the statue at the base has restrictions on ladies clothings. Needs to be for fully clothed. Skirts frocks etc not allowed, however no restrictions to the hilltop. 3. 440 Steps to the top. Carry a bottle of water. 4 Backside has a peaceful valley n lake view. 5. Snacks n juice vendors at the parking. Keep the place neat n clean. 6. Lot of restaurants on the way. 7. climbing the stairs mid-day will cause a lot of exhaustion

It was good short day trip from Bangalore. We started at 3pm and reached at 5.20pm. It took a little long than 2 hours as I missed a turn in between. After reaching we had to pay 40rs parking fee and parking area was a bid field. Washroom also nearby. A small food stall near the park. We did not climb on the hill having 450 steps as we had less time to return. The peacock temple inside the park was well maintained and peaceful. Big thing it was very less crowdy, so we took pictures and relaxed for sometime near the lake. The lake is behind the Mandargiri hill for which we had to take our car out of parking and drove around the hill to its back. For enjoying sunset and relaxing, I recommend this place.

It is a beautiful place for a one day picnic with friends and family. It is advisable to visit this place in the MORNING as hiking gets difficult once the sun is up. There is a parking lot available for cars and the charge is very nominal. There are autorickshaw services available if one cannot walk that long from the parking lot to the hill. The view from the hill is amazing and pleasant. The temples on the hill are also very beautiful and peaceful. There is a lake near the hill where people can sit and enjoy the food they have carried. The authority DON'T ALLOW cars near the lake on WEEKENDS but on weekdays people can drive their cars near the lake. There are road side vendors available from whom we can buy water, sugarcane juice, cucumber, chips, etc.

This place is situated around 70 km from the outskirts of Banglore. A decent place to visit with family. There is a Jain temple here with the peacock feather kind of architecture (not worth the hype). The hill is a good place to climb. The construction of the temple at the top isn't completed yet. Paid parking is available. There are small shops nearby for light snacks. Do visit morning or early evening to enjoy the view.

The lake view from the hilltop is serene, one can easily spend a day sitting at the hilltop on a cloudy day, there are high winds at the hilltop so take some woolens for early morning/late evenings. Carry your food/water but avoid littering :-)

To reach the peacock temple one has to climb hill of around 600 steps. The Scenic view , the breeze, the peacock temple and jain temple and statue keeps you mesmerized. It is around 75kms from Bangalore. Parking can be done on the roadside . The view while scaling mountain is super. There is small lake on the hill top. Good place for day outing. Do carry sunglasses and hats if you are visiting on sunny days.

An area covered with lush green breathtaking surroundings with small hills around. The statue of the lord and the peacock feather decorated prayer hall is just beside the parking lot. The road to the lake is under construction. Hopefully will be completed soon. A nice place to visit with family. Have found few shops and snacks corner for lunches (trip was on a Sunday). The road from Bangalore is also good.

If you wish to take stairs there are ~200 stairs. There is a lake on the down side and also a Jain temple on the top. The peacock temple is at the bottom and is v beautiful.

Nice getaway place near Bengaluru. It has nearly 400-500 steps to climb. We get coconut water and snacks near the parking lot. Better go by walk instead of renting autos which are costly. (If there are health issues, you can opt for autos) Try reaching the spot before 9AM to enjoy the weather.

Not much crowded. 1 day trip can be planned. Jain temple at the top of the huge rock where you need to climb around 350+ stairs. Behind the temple, there is a beautiful lake. Better to visit in morning and come back by lunch time.

Very good place for a short trip. Takes one and half hour from Bangalore by 2 wheeler. Can explore jain temples on the top of the hill. And there's a lake beside on the top of the hill where you can chill and spend time. Snacks are available on the way. Only 20-30mins trek to climb up. So a very good place for a half day outing πŸ‘Œ

It is no doubt a 5 start place. But my rating is for the service and commercialization of the place. To take your own vehicle up the hill, you need to pay parking charge and mandatory donation foe 200 rupees. After paying this youbhave to wait 30 to 45 min to get the slot. If youvtake auto, they will charge you 200 rupees for literally a 2 minutes drive. If you wish to take the steps, it's great through

A must visit place for 1 day outing from Bangalore. About 70 kms from the city centre and takes about 2.5 hours to reach by car. After climbing about 450 steps to reach hill top, you get to see amazing views all around and a beautiful jain temple which is believed to be about 900 years old. There is a beautiful lake behind the temple, you can just sit and spend few peaceful hours beside the lake. To and fro Autos are also available if you want to avoid climbing stairs. Refreshments are also available at the hill top parking. There is also a peacock feather shaped Guru Mandir near the ground parking. It’s better to start early and reach there by 8-9AM as it becomes quite hot during the day.

The temple is not much worth the hype, temple outer surface is good but nothing much. But you can try the hills they are too very peaceful and much crowded so you can enjoy the view, you can bike to the top but be careful as those are mud roads and helmets are a must, going to the top in 1st gear is a good option as it’s steep Temple - 3 (if you are religious person it’s a good place to worship as it’s peaceful) Journey- That’s awesome but tiresome while returning back due to traffic Hills - 5 Backwaters - 2 (water is used for washing and not maintained ) Overall- 3.5

55kms distance from Orion mall to mandargiri. Park your vehicle and head towards hill point, need to climb around 450 steps. Visit here for Sunrise view, if sunset means plan accordingly because temple closing time at 5pm. Mini pond is there on top. Get the myadala lake view. Can spend time with friends and family. Near by peacock feather dome shaped monument and basadi temple can visit.

A good place to spend a day with family and friends. Statue of lord Mahaveer, peacock temple, 4 temples on top (450 steps to climb) and a lake behind that are the top attractions here. Few shops are there where you can buy water, cola, chips, sugarcane juice, coconut water etc.. no entry fee only 40 rs. For car parking. Toilets here are very dirty and need some maintenance. They charge 5 rs. Per person but no soap and not much cleanliness is there.

Nice place to visit. We visited in evening of a weekday. It was secluded and loved it. The road from foothill to top is newly constructed. We were allowed to go uphill to the top in our car, with a parking charge for β‚Ή40. The temple was however closed in the evening. Renovation is in progress, would love to revisit after 3-4 months.

Small climb up to the top of the hill which should be about ~150 steps brings you to the temples on top of the hill. Some of them you may be allowed to enter if any of the priests are inside but view from the top is good. The Mydala lake is walking distance from here, though you can drive (good for offroading) you will need a vehicle with high ground clearance. You can walk along the lake or just enjoy the peace and calm environment near the lake. Makes for a good family outing.

If you are residing in Bengaliru, If you need a small easy trek, then Basadi betta (Mandara giri) is a right place for you. A beautiful monument of a jain theerthankara, a rock hill, after that... a lake surrounded by beauty of nature.

  • 4/5 Sreevathsa B V. 1 year ago on Google
Great place for weekend trip from Bangalore. Ample parking space charged at Rs40 per car. The digambara statue and unique peacock feather mediation center is the centre of attraction. Place is kept neat and tidy. Request people to maintain the same. The mandaragiri mountain has steps to climb on top of it making it easy for trekking. Its a steep climb. The mountain has a temple and a lake with a beautiful view. Currently , road to the top is under construction and only local auto can take you on top to lake view. The toilet facility needs improvement and also drinking water facilities.

beautiful architecture. This Jain temple is a popular one and there is a temple on the hill top too. feels so serene and peaceful ✌️ there is good amount of parking space available for cars and bikes. there is also a lake at the foothill but it is little dirty due to ppl misusing the entire area and dumping all garbage in it. sincere advice to the tourists who visit here, please keep the premises clean and don't dump plastic bottles and other junk into the lake.
