Beautiful monument to feel proud of Colombia. Unfortunately shops don't accept debit or credit cards from other countries, just Colombian Banks. Handicap access is imposible, parking is free. A lot shops for souvenirs, snaks and coffee.

It is a place to learn and relive the history of our country. Visiting the monument is free, but if you want to enter the museum it costs $3,000 cop per person.

When a people give everything, including their lives l, in the defense of their freedom, it is a humbling experience to observe. The statues are expertly crafted. The emotion captured on the faces of the men is powerful

Definitely this is a place to come to visit is free, if you want you can hear the explanation of the monument and the importance for Colombian country, and you can give some tip to the person. In front of the monument you will find a museum, just for 3.000 COP you can hear more about the monument and daily life.

Amazing spot, you can ask one of the period-dressed guides for an account of the events in the area (tip-based). This is the largest monument in Colombia and worth the trip if you are in the area. The little town square by the monument is nice as well.

Quite interesting place mainly for those who likes the history. Here took place a battle so important for the country's freedom. Bigger than Puente de Boyacá's (Boyacá's bridge) and the monument is so big.

Very historical place in Paipa - Duitama circuit. It is the bravery of those ancestors that Colombia is a free country. The guides in historical costumes are a highlight in the monument. The monument is in the middle of fincas and mountains which adds beauty to the place. The monument is very well maintained and the museum nearby shows the life of the people during that time. The monument with each of the rider and the horse is intricately carved and expressive.

It a beautiful place that honours a battle for independence and it is worth a visit even if you are not interested in history because the surroundings are very beautiful the roads are fine and it has a small plaza where you can rest or buy souvenirs. Highly recommended is you are nearby

The monument represents a Juan José Rondón and his 14 spearmen since they were of great importance to change the course of the battle in favor of the Patriot army in the search for the independence of Colombia. Work carried out in 1969 by the teacher Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt on the 150th anniversary of independence
