I'd already been to the other store they have on town( 3 years ago before covid), so I knew that prices were absurdly high but I saw their "chocolate beer" so I decided to give it a try to see check what all the fuss was about. Sadly, again 18k cop for a pint of beer that is not that good. Beer has no bubbles so it like a shake up beer bottle with no gas. Also, beer is sweet, way too sweet. It's not a porter type beer roast but a added sweet beer. Not my type but if you're a sweet guy, this will remind you root beer.

Fantastic place in Villa de Leyva. Diferent to everythig else. Ask for the garden to seat and dinoempanadas of longaniza to start. Not cheap, but worth the price.

Definitely designed for tourists to spend their money. It is a restaurant on one side and chocolate store/museum on the other side. The restaurant is focused on chocolate items and not a full service place. It is a novelty restaurant. Then you feel obligated to visit the chocolate store to spend more money. Luckily, the small chocolate museum is free if you provide the receipt from restaurant. The museum is cute and takes about 10 minutes to tour and take pictures. Not sure what the regular cost of the museum is but I would not pay it. Have not eaten the chocolate yet but I am sure it is delicious.

The places is beautiful but we were VERY disappointed at the costumer service. It was awful!! Bathrooms were filthy. The women's bathroom was cover by hair everywhere and the men's was stopped up with toilet paper. It was sickening!! Since it is a high in restaurant we were expecting a lot from it and left saddened!

The place has an amazing architecture, and the museum is pretty interesting. We waited a lot because the dishes are very innovative. However, they finished being pretty average. Try the chocolate beer.

Museum is a big word, it's just a short exhibition, paying a small fee in chocolate from the shop is the only requirement to enter the exhibition. The choice of chocolates and specialties is great though! They also have a nice garden on the back if you want to eat there.

Is a great restaurant to eat or drink something of chocolate, many things very delicious. Is a very beautiful restaurant to go alone or with some people. All decor is about chocolate. I loved it. Nice restairant in a nice town.

I came across numerous recommendations for this place, emphasizing its popularity as a hotspot for social media-worthy pictures. And I must admit, those claims hold true. The establishment's decor is certainly unique, to put it mildly. As for the food, we decided to try their pizza, but unfortunately, the dough was undercooked in the center. Their chocolate beer could be described as more of a cocktail, and I wouldn't recommend having more than one, it was too sweet for me, maybe others enjoy it. On the bright side, the dessert was surprisingly delightful and not overly sweet. Considering the relatively high prices and the place's existing reputation, it would be great to see them invest a bit more in refining their recipes and not just to abuse their poorly gained popularity.

Very authentic place. A MUST TO VISIT, tour or enjoy. Check all places. For a small town is a Gem

The chocolate was great. The museum consists of two rooms and little information. The service was subpar. The baker wasn't there, and they couldn't tell when he'd arrive. Walked into the restaurant and it took over five minutes for an employee to approach us. I would not recommend it.

Incredibly bad service. 1 server for 20-25 tables who was never there. We left

The beauty of the decoration and environment of the Chef Cacao Restaurant are giving the customers a high expectation of the quality of food they are going to get. Unfurtunately, it brings only dissapointments. I gave 3 opportunities to this place already en the food has been terrible every time that I go. Something so basic as having fresh bread in the morning is not heppening. This is not cook to order, I do not recommend anyone to visit this place. We still had to pay for our meals, but we barely had one bite.

👍 I had very high expectation because this place is very known. However, the chantilly cream was not on point. Still a very good miloha but definitely you can find same and better quality milohas around Villa de Leyva

😠 Highly disappointed by their famous cheese wheel pasta (a.k.a. pasta alla ruota), I have eaten this dish in many places before and usually the grana padano wheel is generously scraped on the inside before adding the hot pasta, in this place the waiter gave us a lecture about grana padano cheese, the...

👍 This place is so good looking and makes you feel really disconnected from the city life it's worth the trip. Their cheese wheel pasta is absolutely delicious. Almost to perfection. 👍👍 Friendly staff and great food. We came from breakfast and ordered the rib broth and poached eggs. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection (strangely difficult to find a good poached egg). We also ordered hot chocolate which was devine.

🫤 The pizza was terrible. The music was nice but too loud. No physical menus, no menus in English, not even with the QR code. None vegetarian options. The beef and fish were good.
