Such a fun stop along the i70 route! Along with the mailbox, the town of Casey, Illinois has a lot of record breaking large things such as mouse trap, golf club, ruler, wind chimes etc. my kids really enjoyed the entire town!

If you are into fun roadside attractions this is a great place to stop. So many World Records holders are in this town. You can climb to the top for a great view of the city. Actually this is a working mail box.

Very chill. You can walk up a few flights inside and see the view. And post a letter too. In a pretty garden with a bridge, stream and flowers Public bathrooms nearby and some fun shops.

We went on our way back to NE Ohio from Arkansas. The entire town was cute and quirky. We walked around a bit and saw other "World's Largest" items. Not much else going on...but it was good to stop and walk a bit on our long drive back home.

Well maintained point of interest. There's a little ice cream shop there along with some other shops. A path in the back crosses a tiny bridge and also allows access to the inside of the mailbox. It is about four sets of stairs that lead into a room. For what this is, it's great.

This was an amazing roadside attraction found in the town of Casey, IL! Not only is it a โ€œWorldโ€™s Largestโ€ item, but you could actually go up into it! Mail a letter and the flag goes up! Do yourself a favor and โ€œdeliverโ€ yourself to this city to check it out!

This tiny little town is full of big things! I can't believe after 15 years of traveling this is the first time we stopped! A must see!

The entire town of Casey is quaint and cute. All the largest.... are mostly within walking distance. I wish I had thought to bring something to mail from the largest mailbox. The postal service has pick up there.

This place was pretty cool. Right off the highway. Has cute little shops and a really cool candy store. You can go up into the mailbox and mail a postcard. You can also get into the birdcage and swing on a perch. It was pretty cool!

Worlds Largest Mailbox, Casey Illinois worlds largest functioning mailbox. Standing nearly two stories tall you can enter through the back base and take the stair case to to the top to het a view of main street and a few of the other large structures around casey. From the top the worlds largest Birdcage, and Pencil can easily be seen.

Casey is the home of the World's Largest things, including the World's Largest Rocking Chair and the World's Largest Teeter Totter and the World's Largest Birdcage. Probably a dozen of them here and there, all worth checking out, especially since this is only a couple of miles off I-70 between Terre Haute and Saint Louis. My favorite of the World's Largest things is this one, the World's Largest Mailbox. Aside from being huge, it is possible to actually go inside it and climb the stairs. Looking out the front flap (which opens and closes!), I could see down to the "Free Candy!" van parked over by the World's Largest Barber Pole. And yes, the World's Largest Mailbox does have a mail slot so you could send a real letter or postcard from here!

Perfect place to stop during our road trip. The town in general has several "world's largest" items. Great place to come for photo ops. One way to bring people into town, so don't forget to support the local shops! The ice cream there was very tasty. The world's largest rocking chair and the gigantic, world's largest mailbox that you can go up into it were my favorites. Bring a letter or postcard and you can actually mail it, simply drop in the wooden box inside! Just don't forget the stamp!

To make the claim of world's largest mailbox this structure had to be fully functional. As a working mailbox guests have the opportunity to climb the stairs inside and send a letter of their own. There is also a fully-functional red flag that goes up when letters or postcards are mailed from the mailbox. 5743.41 cubic feet. Scripture: "You yourselves are our letter, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."

Our stop in Casey was spur of the moment and it was the perfect opportunity to take a break from driving and stretch out legs. My teenage son and I had a blast running around town looking for all of the "largest" items. The town is so charming. It is evident that the residents are proud of their community. Hope to return some day during business hours.

This is an impressive and unique tourist attraction! I've never seen anything quite like it, and it's so cool that you can walk inside of it to actually mail a letter. The kids had a good time as well. There are public restrooms in the little square where the this monument is, making this a convenient and novel rest stop.

Cute, quaint downtown. Very welcoming. Looked to be some nice restaurants but werenโ€™t open for us to go to. We rolled into town, passing through, at dusk just as the rain cleared up. We needed to stretch our legs, so we walked around town to all the locations. Made for some pretty cool pictures!

My favorite of the World's Largest! Such a fun giant mailbox! You can walk up stairs to the top for some great photo opportunities, as well as mail things from inside! (which I thought was even cooler.) The area it's in is beautiful, as well. Such a fun place to stop during travels.
