Went
there
on
a
sunny
and
warm
day
in
the
middle
of
September.
I
have
been
living
in
Michigan
for
over
10
years
now
and
surprisingly
a
first
time
visitor
of
dunes..
Recreation
passport
is
required
for
entry.
Park
has
clean
restrooms
and
food
truck
between
Memorial
day
and
Labor
day.
Other
than
that
bring
your
own
food
and
water.
It's
about
3
hr
drive
from
Detroit
area.
When
we
arrived
we
were
told
by
a
local
couple
that
hike
through
dunes
to
Silver
lake
is
around
1
hour
and
to
lake
Michigan
2.5-3
hours.
We
didn't
have
food
or
water
or
time
to
hike
to
Michigan
lake
so
we
did
a
short
one.
Make
sure
to
take
everything
you
need
on
the
beach
with
you
when
you
live
car.
We
didn't
rent
a
buggy
to
ride
the
dunes
but
next
time
we
will.
Will
probably
research
a
deal
for
rent
before
we
go
as
there
are
multiple
companies
to
rent
from
in
the
area,
and
only
one
right
in
the
park.
Overall
great
place
to
visit,
just
be
prepared
for
a
challenging
hike
up
and
down
the
dunes:)
