👍 Very tasty and good internet! Quiet and comfortable. But matcha tea is served with curdled milk. I asked to remake, brought again with curdled milk. Shaved their sets. Not bad kits. But still, this place did not become a favorite. For the money, there are many more good places for lunch or breakfas... People often mention vegan, staff, restaurant, Ubud, good, dishes, great, friendly, amazing, Moksa,

(Translated by Google) Very tasty and good internet! Quiet and comfortable. But matcha tea is served with curdled milk. I asked to remake, brought again with curdled milk. Shaved their sets. Not bad kits. But still, this place did not become a favorite. For the money, there are many more good places for lunch or breakfast. The toilets are clean. The staff are friendly in general, but still 5 stars do not give this establishment. There is work to do.

One of the best vegan restaurant in Ubud. I tried nasi campur and orange chocolate mousse. So good! Definitely will come back when I visit Ubud.

I'm often hesitant to go to raw places, but I'm so glad I came here. The "heated" mains had a lot of flavour to them and didn't feel too heavy, the Balinese Rijsttafel felt really well curated. The mains not being too heavy left more room for dessert. I highly recommend the passion fruit cheese parfait!

I came here on my trip 3 years in 2019 and it was absolutely wonderful. I have never had vegan food this good. Everyone was so friendly. I have a nut allergy and they were very accommodating. There was even a really nice market in the courtyard where I bought some of the most beautiful earrings. I loved this place so much I will be coming back on my trip next month.☺️

I’m certainly no vegan not even close to vegetarian, in day to day life the closest I come is having chips with my steak! However Moksa is one of my all time favourite restaurants. I come here every time I’m in Bali and it’s the only time I ever eat vegetarian. I even did a cooking class once with chef Made. The food is always ingeniously innovative and incredibly tasty high quality produce, organic and much sourced from their own permaculture gardens. If I had my own personal chef who was capable of preparing Moksa’s menu, I could quite happily become full time vegetarian.

Favorite restaurant in the world, hands down! Slightly pricier but healthier than Zest and they don't use so much coconut oil (saturated fat) so you can sample a lot of dishes before you get full!

O my gosh, amazing is all I can say. The meal was just exploding with flavour and good service. Plant based has gone sexy, the meal is just exquisite and light. It's a lovely short walk from the main road with amazing gardens. I was welcomed warmly and as a solo traveler that is important to me. I would highly recommend even if you are not a veggie. Go on treat yourself to 3 courses!!

The staff is utterly disrespectful. This is a shame since the owner obviously has a very interesting philosophy, but the waiters and the cook are only interested in working as little as possible. It took a miracle the waiters to look at our table and see whether we needed something. As soon as it started to rain they asked us whether we wanted to sit nearer to the kitchen, but as we were perfectly sheltered from the rain from where we were it became obvious they didn't want to go through the rain (with the gigantic umbrella they are provided with) and wanted to save themselves some work. The simple brown rice had sand in it. When I complained, the waitress asked if I wanted more brown rice. She asked if we liked spicy and we said no. She suggested the noodle soup. After some minutes (2 minutes) she brought a very spicy red chili soup. I asked her to change it, and 1 minute later she brought the same soup. I tried the sauce, which now was just coconut milk, but it WAS THE SAME SOUP with still the same vegetables, still spicy from the previous sauce. It was obvious that the cook had just let the sauce flow with the same food and put coconut milk instead in the hope the problem would disappear. As the dish was still very spicy obviously, after 10 minutes the waiter brought me a second soup that only had vegetables and coconut milk and tasted like nothing. The waitress and the staff manager were full of excuses. Very unprofessional.

Our best ever vegan dining experience in the world! The food is like something off Masterchef. Such interesting and delicious dishes. The prices are reasonable in terms of Western value, it's like the kind of food you get on a fancy tasting menu but at affordable prices. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. The location and concept is really unique too. Highly recommended!

MOKSA is one of the best (if not the best 🔥) plant based restaurants in Ubud!! Great variety of delicious raw & vegan dishes and friendly staff! I also joined cooking classes with their chef Made and that was an eyes opening! He and his team are so passionate about what they are doing! They believe that food is a medicine and should be healthy and tasty! How beautiful is this ✨ The cooking class takes 4h. You will learn the foundation of raw or vegan food, how to mix ingredients, play with the flavour and how to turn simple products into a real culinary miracle! I definitely recommend this place!! ❤️

One of a kind raw gourmet food. Well thought out and complimentary flavors. Sweet, savory, unctuous. Just the best, highly recommend the chefs sampler plate and the utapam. The cardamom ice cream was super unique and well done. Paying Indonesian prices for fine dining, wow I just can't believe it. Service was a little slow even when the restaurant was mostly empty and they messed up giving me the wrong ice cream. Such a nominal thing that I can pass of for a 5 star rating ♥️ Props to the Chef

The tastiest vegan food ever. I always order the old coconut calamari version and Shirataki noodle. Price a lil expensive but it’s worth the taste. I really like the new food forest in the backyard, so beautiful. Farmer’s market on Saturday always interesting. Thanks for the service and keep up the good quality.

I used Living Food lab for my yoga retreat in Bali. They were absolutely flawless. So professionals and still so sweet! The came to the retreat venue with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food felt so nourishing and it was always lots of different flavours and variety. All of the guest were so pleased with every single meal. Imelda and rest of staff were also so lovely. I got a great feeling from the very first email I received from Imelda after sending them my intresset! There is really nothing else to say then WOW. Thank you thank you thank you for being a part of my retreat and for giving it so many yummy and nourishing meals. I wish you all the best and I can't wait to hire you again!

This place is a vegan restaurant and they grow their own vegetables which makes it an organic plays as well. It's not only a restaurant but they also have yoga and other sessions happening inside their remise. Hospitality is very good and you can also book your table online. Menu is interesting and pricing is slightly high as per the ambience of the place. But there is nothing impressive or impeccable about this place. This is just another vegan restaurant in Ubud.

Omw in other countries it's hard to find vegan restaurants, here in Ubud there is so many. But Moksa was highly recommended and it exceeded my expectation. From the hidden location between nature, to the amazing food. I over ate because I wanted to try everything. Eco friendly bamboo straws and lovely staff who are friendly and attentive. Its 15min walk from my guest house so I know where I will go for dinner.

Good thing: it's a popular place amongst vegans and I liked the drink. Bad thing: everything else. I'm just a vegetarian, so probably I'm not enlightened enough for this food. Or, I'm to used to a really high kitchen 😆 To the honour of the place, they have excluded did that I couldn't eat drink the bill. High five!

Great vegan restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. The restaurant has an open area outside with a beautiful view on a nice garden. They have a lot of different options to choose from on the menu, and everything is 100% plant based. They also offer many raw vegan dishes and everything on the menu is clearly labeled if cooked or raw. The food tastes amazing and is very beautifully decorated. They also have a little shop next to the restaurant where they sell different sweets and amazing self made vegan cashew cheeses. I can definitely highly recommend this place.

Without a doubt on my top favourite places in Ubud. It is one of the best vegan food I’ve ever eaten. I’m not even vegan but it makes eating healthy vegan a breeze. What I really appreciate is it is healthy food, it is creative and beautifully created dishes. It allows the natural flavours and ingredients to speak for themselves. No need for tons of processed and fake vegan “ingredients” like other places. No one needs to eat animal products ever again when you have food like this! Moksa makes me seriously think about living in Ubud just so I can eat here as often as I like. MUST TRY the jackfruit tacos, you won’t regret it!

You cant go wrong with this place if youre vegetarian or starting a healthy life style. All the menu guaranteed healthy and plant based. They offered raw cook or steamed. I preferred raw ;) The presentation was absolutely stunning. In some point I believe that will crank up your appetizer :D If you bring kids they also had a little garden where your kids can play too. For desert you ll get many options of cakes -this one guaranteed wont increase your body fat ;) They also provide vegetarian ice cream which is non diary product. I ll definitely come here again!

We’re not vegans but we loved the food so much that we came back twice. It was like an adventure for our taste buds! Every dish we tried was so flavorful and delicious, as well as nourishing. The eggplant rendang, the chefs bowl, squid ink rice bowl, and desserts were all mouthwatering, and the service was great too! We had a nice chat with Wayan who recommended amazing dishes! Hope Moksa is on everyone’s list of must try restaurants in Bali!

Amazing amazing place! Could not give a more glowing review to a place! The food here was impeccable. High quality, great flavors, all natural, and vegan! Came here with a few friends and all of us were speechless because of how yummy everything was. Not only that, the service was amazing. The servers were beyond kind and patient, taking into consideration allergens and spice level. And the chef/owner came up to our table himself and sent us one if the raw dishes to try! We were also all served the tropical smoothie shots for free as a welcome drink. Could not have had a better meal anywhere else! Love this place so much.

This is a special place. Some of the best food I've ever enjoyed. Fresh, flavoursome and beautifully presented. We had 2 tasting plates because we couldn't decide which amazing sounding dish to get. We also had the vegan cheese platter to start which was incredible and 2 great smoothies. The chef and owner popped out to greet us which was lovely and all the staff were very friendly. We took a walk after our meal to digest in the beautiful permaculture garden. And grabbed a raw dessert to go. You can also buy all sorts of packaged foods, honeys and crockery on site. Cannot recommend Moksa highly enough. So glad we came out to find it.

I recently took a group of 10 ladies to do a 4 plus hour cooking class with Chef Made. The women were participating in a 7 night retreat I was running and as we wind that up I know that this class was a true highlight for all of them, including me. And we have had many wonderful experiences here in Ubud! Chef Made is not only a world class chef and wonderful teacher with a great depth of knowledge of plant based cuisine, and he is still so passionate about what he does, helping others discover and explore the versatility of fresh plant foods and creating amazing and delicious meals with it. His warmth, humour and humility belies his stature as a chef and teacher and we were able to relax and really enjoy every aspect of the experience - from the wonderful veggie garden tour to the class itself to the thorough enjoyment of every dish we created together! Thank you so much to all the staff at Moksa. You are my favourite restaurant in the world and I can’t wait to return with my next group in 2024 💚🌱💚 Jan Saunders Marvellously Midlife Retreats The Beet Retreat Vegan B&B Australia

The food is super yummy, especially the BBQ tempeh! The staff are super friendly and nice, they checkin with you from time to time. The only thing to take note before you visit is the location. It’s not accesible by car easily, better to get scooters even if u come in group. I wasn’t able to get a car cuz I was wearing dress, then the staff Chiachia ( not sure if this is the right spelling), she advised me to use sarong and drive me back to my place which is 2km away at 8pm. Thanks a lot for your kindness! The place has a giant garden and great if you like outdoor with tranquility:)

You MUST come to this place! Wonderful flavours, great textures, and top notch sauces. It was a dining experience to remember! We definitely ordered more than we should have. It was all worth it because we couldn’t help but try as much as we could. The bbq tempeh ribs and the chick’n breast deserve a special mention–they were very well done! The orange chocolate cake was perfect to finish off the meal. A strong 5 out of 5 stars for this place!

This is BY FAR my favorite restaurant in Ubud. If you’re looking for insane high quality ingredients, incredibly healthy and insanely delicious taste- this is your spot! This is our second time here and I waited to leave a review just to experience more of this place. We came with friends and all tasted each others dishes and we are absolutely in love with this place. The prices are around $75-$85k for a meal and it’s beyond worth it. The vibe is the most “restaurant” and dinner vibe of all of the healthy restaurants in Ubud. It’s simply magical here and feels like fine dining. The service was also out of this world. You know the difference of the servers who feel like they just want to go home and they move through like almost zombies VS the people who really feel like they love their job and enjoy connecting with the people? Everyone here had such amazing energy and our servers took so much time helping us pick out options, they were very knowledgeable about the ingredients and really felt like they loved working here. We cannot wait to come back and try everything on the menu, there is a huge menu

In Bali, where many restaurants serve dishes rich in oils and carbohydrates, this vegan restaurant is like an oasis. It offers an opportunity to rejuvenate your body through food, providing a feeling of revitalization. I never imagined vegan cuisine could be this delicious. The use of fresh, local ingredients not only makes the dishes taste wonderful but also promotes health. If you're visiting Bali, I highly recommend experiencing this restaurant.

Best vegan food in Bali! We had the best tofu scramble we ever had at living food lab. It was amazing... So tasty and the texture was spot on. We also got cakes to take away and they were delicious also. Very reasonably priced considered the quality of the food and the quality of the service. The vibe was super relaxing and there are plenty of books on offer for those that would like to chill and read. We also got to meet the owner who is super passionate and just a genuinely nice person. Could not fault this place!

Amazing raw, healthy food. Portions appeared small but were surprisingly filling. My husband and I shared 3 entrees and it was perfect. The chef threw in some free crackers for the wait (we barely even noticed the wait!). Excellent service, food, quality. Not the cheapest spot but definitely one of the best- worth the price!

Nice vegan place, good food and green juice/smoothie that you can order per bottle also. It’s a cafe downstairs and a coworking upstairs. Fast WiFi. Friendly staff. Menu is good but some options have unusual flavour that I wouldn’t try again. All in all, I recommend to visit this place☀️

We've been suggested from a friend to go there and once we tried it we went back for two days in a row. We can't wait to be back again soon :)

Quite good food but was schooled to ear that they sell no alcohol ! Not sure if halal food or what but surprised to see that in Bali

as someone that really doesn't like all the mock meats that are so popular its really refreshing to see a chef put some thought and creativity into making an impressive array of interesting dishes. Colourful and delish.

Highly recommended plant-based restaurant in Ubud. Serves raw and vegan meals. Healthy and fresh food from farm to table. We ordered Chef’s bowl, Asam laksa noodle. We really enjoyed our meal coz its deliciously prepared. They also served us a complimentary tamarind papaya shot.

The salad really blow my mind! Love the balance of the salad appetizer. Also, we ordered two main dishes are all really tasty. But personally love their appetizer collection. Next to the restaurant is a farmer market that open every Saturday. Both highly recommended.

Restoran Vegan terenak!! Makanannya enak semua apalagi minumannya juga juara!! Yang non vegan tetep bisa enjoy makan disini karena rasanya lezat & kaya rasa. Dessertnya juga ga kalah enak. Tempatnya nyaman, pelayanan ramah & cepat. Terus tiap minggu ada Sunday Market, seru deh. Pokoknya the best & wajib ke Moksa klo lagi ke daerah Sayan, Ubud

We visited this lovely quaint place for dinner last night, the service was impeccable and the food mindblowing, while I am mostly vegan and my husband is a meat eater and he couldn’t stop praising the eggplant rendang. They were very clean and keeping all the Covid protocols in place

I only wish every restaurant could be this good! And so mindful of health without sacrificing taste. I only wish I could have tasted the whole menu. Everything I had was fabulous. The laksa was flavorful and nourishing with the right amount of spice on a rainy day. Ginger lemon tea was rich, sweet and tangy- not watery or boring at all! The raw chocolate mouse cake was so divine. The staff seemed a little disorganized looking after tables and I had to get someone’s attention to order each time. Other than that, this place is a must if you are a gourmet health foodie traveling through Ubud.

It is located in a lovely setting with a gentle breeze! The staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommended to find this little gem located outside the hussle and bustle of Ubud!

This place is a vegan heaven 🌿 They cook from their own gardens and offer cooking classes! The prices are worth to pay! No inside seating, so check the weather first. I can recommend the farmers market on Tuesdays and Saturdays! Great organic stuff.

For me personally this is the best vegan food I ever tried so far. They have very different menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast I would say is more soft and simple, lunch is comfort food and dinner is more complex food. After having eaten there many times, I can say that Moksa is the best vegan food in Bali. I will update my review if I find a better vegan restaurant in Bali (I've tried almost all of them). Thank you Chef Made Runatha and team for the amazing food

A little pretentious. Food was a bit underwhelming but ok. Service a bit sluggish and lacking the gentle, happy Ubud feel. We found Zest Ubud to be a better vegan option in the area, with an exciting and original menu.

Amazing gem of a vegan restaurant. Outdoor seating was incredible with the serene greenery. Ordered the chef’s bowl. Blown away by the freshness of the ingredients and how it was prepared from farm to table. Will come again in future.

Very delicious vegan food in natural environment. Indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful views. Ordered Chef’s Bowl, Eggplant Rendang and smoothies - very flavorful and fresh. The mango, passion fruit, strawberry cheese cake is heavenly. Friendly staff!

  • 5/5 Steven C. 4 years ago on Google
Fantastic service. Outdoor seating. You can purchase whole cakes to go. They didn't have one available for me, but I was able to buy a half cake to go. So they really cater to the customer. Edit: Came back again for lunch. Still delicious, however there is a different menu for lunch (see pics). Ordered a couple whole pies for about 450K Rupiah each (lemon and purple sweet potato)

The location is great, little river view and the big vegetable garden. There is a big seating area outside, with an nice view. I have the cappuccino with cashew milk, that was not tasty. They also have coconut milk, but both of them, are not tasty in a coffee. Soy milk and almond milk would taste much better. It’s a bit pricey. Staff is very friendly

This restaurant serves exceptional food. The taste of the dishes are layered with balanced flavours. They are playing with textures and ingredients in a brilliant way. The Mongolian BBQ dish is incredible. The raviolo is also excellent.

The culinary art of their food is really impressive, from taste to visual of what’s on the plate. But unfortunately the aesthetics of the decor and the surroundings is not up to par. Plants are dying, scattered and lifeless. It’s very surprising to see in UBUD, where everywhere is lush green. Live lasagna and jackfruit tacos are killers!

  • 5/5 Hannah T. 2 years ago on Google
The food was great, and the passion fruit kombucha was SO GOOD! We got the green curry, Mongolian jerky, and the pumpkin pesto ravioli. All were delicious, but the Mongolian jerky was the best.

A favorite place to meet, to work, to enjoy a meal. The breakfasts with fresh fruit and cashew milk coffee especially impress me. In Ubud, this is the first place to eat.

  • 5/5 Caitlin R. 2 years ago on Google
This paddock to plate vegan restaurant has the biggest menu offerings that a vegan could dream of. So many raw meals, eats and treats. I had visited 3 years ago after a yoga retreat and had to come back. Given they grow a lot of their produce onsite don't expect it to be cheap eats. Flavour is great, staff are friendly and you get free water and a shot of juice on arrival (talk about service). Please note the road to get to Moksa is unsealed and not for the faint of heart if you're nervous on a scooter or driving narrow bumpy roads in Bali. Be careful - but worth the trip.

  • 5/5 Martin G. 1 year ago on Google
The service, the food and the atmosphere are perfect. The Moksa is not easy to find but anyone who wants to try vegan dishes is the right choice here. We will be back with you on your next visit to Ubud.

Ubud has earned its reputation being intrinsically sustainable and vegetarian & vegan-friendly. This restaurant, interestingly though recommended by a friend living in Paris, offers plenty if vegan options! I chose this asem laksa noodle and jackfruit taco! Sublime. Tangyness and so many veggies are coalesced into heavenly combination. They offer other options for western-influenced like sandwiches. But I would recommend more of southeast asian dishes like laksa, nasigoreng and curries. Rich in flavour but don't overpowering! They also grow their own veggies and turn the used coconut shells and skins for natural fertilizer! The breeze sitting right in front of the garden, was so rewarding! Highly recommended.

+ One of the best vegetarian places we’ve eaten in Bali. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, nice ambiance (green/garden view). Our mains were amazing. Flavourful and made out of the freshest ingredients. They can make dishes without allium too! We had the Moksa sampler, Incredible Curry Tofu (like Thai Green Curry) and Chef’s bowl. Do give it a try if you are in Ubud. Prices are a bit on the steeper side, dishes are abt SGD 6 to SGD 10 but worth it. - Cheese sampler, we are not vegan and the “cheeses” taste odd for us. The sweet potato fries were so-so.

The best vegan restaurant in Bali! Every single dish is delicious and so much favours. Raw platter, eggplant rendang, jackfruit tacos, laksa & dessert raw cakes platter. definitely the best dinning experience in ubud and highly recommend even if you are not vegetarian or vegan!

Ordered takeaway the night before (Chef’s Bowl) and food was so good we made a trip here before leaving Ubud. Very very nice vibes and environment here. Do spend more time just to chill and relax after your meal! (If they’re not too busy that is) Everything we ordered tasted so good - I’m very certain that everything else on their menu would be so too!!!

I've traveled all over the world as vegan and this is legit one of the best vegan restaurants I've ever been to! Everything was top-notch. So fresh, so tasty and always felt great afterwards. Cauliflower wings were hands down the best I've ever had. Service and atmosphere were fantastic too and there's a cute permaculture garden you can wonder around in 🌿

We have been in here 4 times. We tried 3x lunch and 1x breakfast. Absolutely amazing. Probably the best vegan restaurant that I’ve ever tried! There is a great variety of food and absolutely delicious! Whatever we’ve tried was just amazing from lasagne, jackfruit, or even desserts were so yummy. Definitely recommend!

The restaurant is a nice outdoor setting , very nature vibes. Staff were friendly and customer service was good. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to expectations hence the 3* . It sounds a lot better than it tastes . I had some sort of platter that had a variety or small dishes on such as vegan calamari , squid , jackfruit belly , turmeric rice , soup of the day and some greens . The squid/ calamari had good texture and a seafood like taste but it wasn't very strong and didn't have much else going on. The rest of the small plates on the dish didn't have any distinct flavours , they looked good but just quite bland. My wife had the lasagne which had a very distinct taste but not one either of us really thought was amazing (this could be to preference though). The platter dishes were just about warm as well so maybe they were sat in the kitchen for a while before being brought out ? . I also ordered a fresh juice which pretty much tasted like celery and carrot even though it was meant to have Pineapple and ginger in too . Also the prices here aren't cheap compared to other places. I have ate from Alchemy for similar prices / cheaper and we much prefer their food . Overall it was okay but not worth the price for the flavour and portion size.

During our visit to Ubud, we couldn't resist checking out Moksa, as it came highly recommended by multiple people. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We had an incredible feast with a variety of dishes that left our taste buds in awe. The Balinese Rijsttafel provided an authentic culinary experience, while the Crispy Oyster Mushroom was a crispy delight with bursting flavors. The Cheese Platter Section offered delicious vegan cheese, and the Sushi Maki was perfectly rolled and full of freshness. The Incredible Curry Tofu was a delightful explosion of fragrant spices, and the Crispy Cauliflower was golden and irresistibly tasty. The restaurant's diverse vegan menu and the quality of the dishes truly impressed us. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. If you're staying in Ubud, Moksa is a definite must-visit for all vegans and food enthusiasts alike. The food experience here is unparalleled, making it a true gem in Bali.

I’ve lost count of the number times I’ve returned to Moksa, it’s a must-eat-at whenever I’m in Ubud. Impeccable service, stunning location, and the food is beyond excellent. This time, on their revamped menu was the papaya salad with tamarind dressing and the Greek Souvlaki - holy cow! If only words could describe the festivities these brought to my palette! It was so fulfilling that I felt no need for a finisher/dessert. Superbly done, take a bow, team Moksa!!!
