Words can’t really describe how unique and incredible the Locavore experience is! It was a wonderfully exotic culinary experience that will top most of the fine dining high-end restaurants in the world. A 20-course adventure through local ingredients carefully hand-crafted in non-traditional ways that come together unlike anything you’ve ever experienced! Make sure to reserve in advance and treat yourself to one of the most elegant and unique experiences in Ubud! Enjoy!!!

Suggest to AVOID this place. This is the biggest bill I have paid in Bali and turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the whole trip. The other 1 star comments probably summarized what i have to say. I have been to many fine dine and Michelin star restaurants, I can conclude that this place is just a hype, the food is just average (some are poor), the presentation is just soso, there is no “story” or artifacts behind each small dish - nothing really connects to any art, i hardly find any specialty in any dish, the first dish were the raw flowers and they tasted really bad, the second dish was the deep fried flower and again taste nothing but the oil and flour. Not a bit of the experience live up to the price tag of US$100 per head (remember the 20% tax). I have lost the chance to try other nice restaurants around Bali, as I only have limited number of nights in the area.

Awesome culinary experience. The presentation and experience are incredibly cool. The meal is technically 9 courses but they give you 5 or 6 surprise courses throughout the meal. All the food is delicious, the cocktail pairings are great, but the overall presentation and experience of the meal is what stands out. Definitely one of the best culinary experiences I have ever had. If this was in a city with a Michelin guide, it would definitely have a 1+ star.

Traditional Indonesian food served family style. Their welcome snack is an awesome experience on its own. Recommended small plates: clams, grilled seafood with curry paste in leave wrap. The young banana vegetable dish is superb! We had steamed fish and goat leg skewers as main dishes. Fish was very fresh and flavorful while goat meat was a tad hard for my taste, putting it in the accompanying curry soup helped. Overall definitely 5 star and my favorite restaurant in Ubud!

Overall, it is very disappointing experience. First of all, the experience after entering the restaurant was very bad. After a waiter took me to sit down, she walked back to the service desk and looked at you while discussing you with other waiters. It was very rude! Secondly, the overall taste of the dishes is very ordinary, mainly gimmicks. Several dishes are salty, including the oyster mushrooms, cold and hot tomatoes, etc. Compared with the Michelin restaurant I have eaten before, the ingredients in this restaurant are relatively cheap. Finally, from the perspective of price, it is not worth it. I added pairing drinks, the price is about 140 US dollars, and there are extra 35 US of taxes and service fees. It is hard to imagine how such a level ranks in the list of the top 50 restaurants in Asia.

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, however found the whole experience pretty disappointing. I’m a designer and appreciate art, but when I’m paying for fine dining I want to be wowed by flavour and presentation. Unfortunately it seems presentation is the only thing that was considered. To top off the underwhelming experience we were slapped with a huge bill that was way more than we’d spent on anything the entire trip. Wouldn’t recommend, there are much nicer places in Ubud to eat and enjoy.

Definitely would deserve 10 stars. We had a fantastic experience! We had the long menu, it says 7 courses but we counted 14 delicious dishes. The recipes are original, meticulously crafted, using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. We were happy to discover new flavors! Vegans and non vegans loved the flavors and textures. What a treat and a feast for the eyes as well! We were impressed by the mocktails, as well as the whole tea experience, which is worth a try. Service was attentive without being over the top, friendly and professional. Definitely a must try if you’re in Ubud.

What a fantastic dining experience! Why does this place not have a Michelin star?! We were told this is the best restaurant in Bali and I'm not surprised. Everything about it, the service, the decor, the beautiful plates, and of course the food - inventive, playful, sense-tickling and delicious. Many places like this try "weird" things in ways that make you think "but why?" but at Locavore it all made sense, and all taste impressions were perfectly balanced. We ordered the 9 course tasting menu, which of course wasn't cheap for Bali prices - but then again, we counted a total of 18 different dishes, each a cute little experience in itself. There's far beyond what's on the menu! Every time we thought we knew what was coming next, the staff would surprise us "No, this is actually your pre-dessert" oh, okay, nice! We arrived hungry and excited, and left (after 3,5h!) completely full and content - so yes, the separate dishes might be small, but they are many - and if the price puts you off, remember that this is an extraordinary experience of luxury, a journey through different Balinese flavours, and one of the best ways in the world to spend your money if you have a curious mind and enjoy good food. 😁 Thank you Locavore and lovely staff for a wonderful dinner!

Meh. Overall, the quality has declined over the years, while the price has doubled due to perceived popularity throughout Indonesia. The courses were a hit-or-miss (mostly misses). Staff was wearing a face shield but no mask. Kudos to the team for persistently following up with customers to invite them back for brunch / dinners / special occasions.

A fantastic fine-dining lunch experience that has nothing to shy away from occidental restaurants that have similar ambitions. As I’m dining quite regularly at Michelin stars restaurants in Europe, I was a bit surprised by this restaurant’s reviews: It has “only” 4.5 stars. Thus, when we booked this place for our anniversary, I didn’t have any expectations and I was extremely surprised by the excellent quality of the service, the tasty vegetarian menu and the overall attention put to details: - They use local, non-dairy and gluten free ingredients. We had the Herbivore menu with 18 courses and it was a very tasteful ride. Special mention to the « into the wild » dish and the Black rice blini snack. - The service was friendly, professional, communicative and attentive- they were even cleaning our table perfectly between courses to remove any leftovers on the table. Honestly, I have never seen such a perfect table set-up for each course - The courses cadence was perfect: usually in Michelin restaurants they tend to rush and hurry each dish one after another and you don’t have time to appreciate them and just feel overstuffed. There was a small break before the desserts part which was appreciated. - We tried all the blended drinks as we don’t drink alcohol and liked the most the tamarind one and the Lemongrass one. - Here the portions were balanced: enough to taste and to not feel like you’re not going to make it past the 5th course. Overall, we had the nicest anniversary there and the staff was extremely attentive: they came to ask us if we had feedback and we even had a card signed by all the staff. You can feel that they truly care about their customers and what they do, they work hard to offer a high-level experience and for me this justifies the price. Small details=huge difference. That is a true fine-dining experience in my opinion 🙌🏽✨ Thank you for a memorable anniversary 💖

The recently renovated Locavore is now the sensational plant based dining experience Herbivore and is superb. Under the leadership of Frenchmen Chef Arnaud, who is seen as one of the top plant based chefs in Asia you are in for a great night out! His team delivers a delicious performance with each dish being unique and an amazing combination of flavours and colours! The matching drinks are beautifully presented and again full of flavours and style! The dining room is elegantly decorated with the service team being the perfect hosts and superbly trained. Overall the experience is brilliant and great value when you compare to many international cities offerings. Make sure you book well in advance for this very special occasion…..🥂

Decent setting, the service was Amazing, servers were really nice, even told me when the bathroom was available when it was being used . Other thing was my reservation was at 12, when I arrived at 11:55, they kindly ask me to come back ten minutes later due to setting up for the to go restaurants. The ambience was nice, but simple and basic, bathroom was small and only had one stall. For the price I paid I expected a better setting. Food was decent, had some very good dishes, however I would say I only enjoyed less then half the dishes. Most were overly salted. The food that the ingredients were also not very expensive, I felt that if I could cook it at home it would be less then a tenth of the price. I would not go back.

Highly recommend this restaurant! We didn’t book a table which we thought would be a problem, but it wasn’t. Perhaps phone ahead during busy times though as it was completely full all night (Thursday). Delicious barbecue out the front which we ordered our main from. Once you’ve ordered you are presented with a large circular platter filled with Indonesian delicacies - all complimentary. I was actually quite full after them!! It comes with a card to decipher what each dish is, a really fun experience to try different local dishes. Lovely decor and busy vibe. The staff were really friendly too. We ordered pork, rice and a vegetarian dish which were all delicious. Highlight was the complimentary platter for me! Good sized dishes and plenty of flavour.

We came here to check off the Top 50 Best Restaurants in Asia. Decided to take the 9 course meal Locavore menu. Here is our review: Food: okay. We love the local flavors and locally sourced fresh ingredients. The taste is more towards sour spectrum and we think it could be more balanced. Presentation: good. We like the flowers opening act and flower tempura. Portioning: just nice. We were full after our 9 course meal. Timing: will be nice to get our food a little quicker. Since portions are bite sized, we were hungry in the beginning. I Service: great. Waitresses were very attentive and polite.

When food and art combine.. Locavore has managed to fuse food and art into one unforgettable dining experience I’ve ever had so far. Still amazed by how they wrapped the whole things almost perfectly. They divided into 4 chapters and each course represented the scene of each movie from different chapters. Staff came to us, explaining every dish they served us. Every dish was great, but somehow the lamb dishes were too strong for me personally. Though, maybe because they represented American Psycho. But the rest of it was delicious! What I love about this place was, everything looked casual and yess you don’t have to dress up in formal setting. The owner was very friendly and easy to talk to. He asked for every customer’s feedbacks once a while. Anyhow, I love the experience I had with them. It completed my trip in Ubud

Pricey but worth it dining experience. The ingredients were high quality and freshly prepared, and the food was insanely delicious. Lots of strong spicy flavors but the staff will ask you for your preference when ordering, as well as food allergies. Super friendly service all around, the ambiance was lively and beautiful, and the cocktails were excellent. We ordered a la carte but there is also a set menu, although everyone on the table needs to order it (you can't have it for one person only). The heritage Balinese pork was exceptional. Overall, was very satisfied with the meal and experience. Totally worth it, highly recommend.

Wonderful experience in locavore. Cozy place where you feel comfortable, not the usual cold fine dining place. Service is great and friendly. They explain every dish and know the menu very well. They can speak both English and bahasa. We took the 9 courses menu, with a total of 16 dishes with the snacks. On the 16, only one or two were "ok", 4 or 5 where very good, and around 10 are "wow". We took the drink pairing and it didnt disappointed, its like a fireworks of flavors when have the drinks and the food together. Totally worth it, great time at locavore.

Was there for the Chinese New Year special Sunday 3-course lunch. Started off great with the appetizers. The pork pot stickers were juicy and flavorful. The mains, however, were hit-and-miss: the mixed veggies were awfully salty (too much soy sauce), the rest were ok but not that special. Luckily the dessert (glutinous rice ball with sesame filling in gingery soup) was quite good. Staff were attentive and friendly. All in all, maybe Chinese food is not their forte. Will come back to try something different.

I walked here on a Wednesday afternoon in mid-December 2022. I had made reservations for this place a couple of weeks beforehand and it was fine. The day I went there were still a bunch of open seats. The food was excellent and surprisingly delicious and tasty. It's an 18-course meal but 9 of the courses were "snacks". I didn't get too full and was able to finish everything except the lamb course. FYI, they said they didn't box things that you don't finish because "it doesn't taste as good reheated". The entire meal came with a booklet describing each dish and the inspiration behind it. When I didn't finish the beef tartar, they asked if it was okay and I told them that I ran out the pickles. So they gave me more pickles so that I could finish my steak tartar. I did notice that the couple next to me was offered a choice of tea/coffee but I wasn't - not sure why. I asked them what kind of teas they offered to go with their dessert but they only had Jasmine or Green Tea so I didn't get any (I only drink dark black teas - not Earl Grey). Overall, I think this place is definitely worth a try.

Locavore was a nice experience. The service and the atmosphere was pleasant. I loved the menu and how descriptive it was. We chose the drink pairing which was fabulous, I’d highly recommend it. Only one or two courses really wowed us and the rest was nice but I was expecting a bit more. It’s all unique and I love how creative it was. Presentation was excellent and everything was timed perfectly. The bread and butter was delicious, especially for gluten and dairy free.

First time doing fine dining :) it is a really nice experience, really unique food and amazing service. However the price is 📈 $$$$, ~ 1.7 million per person after tax and the food is definitely not worth that price unless you value sustainability that much. Its okay if just wanna try it once but definitely won't come back here until my wallet is thick enough one day

Unbelievably good experience! Would give 10 stars if I could. We had one of each (veg and non-veg) 9-course tasting menu for lunch since there were no dinner reservations available (book as far I n advance as you can), but it was still great after a morning hike. Dishes were original with some local ingredients we had never experienced before. There were probably 6-7 extra “snack” and dessert dishes in addition to those on the menu, and there were several surprises that made this a truly singular experience (without giving it away, the menu unveiling was so fun!). Dishes progressed from bright and citrusy to dark and savory, and the staff were eager to explain each dish. Drink pairing was similarly excellent with local inspiration. What made this extra special was the service. It may have been the best I’ve experienced—attentive and thoughtful without being cloying or pretentious. They truly seemed to enjoy sharing their work and culture with us. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you!

This restaurant has once again exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and interesting. They went at no lengths to make my girlfriend's birthday really special. The only issue we have was that the place was kind of warm whilst dining and they could have turned up the AC a bit. But other than that, we had a great experience. Looking forward to our next meal here!

Phenomenal. (Spoiler alert with the photos!) Highly recommend if you want to treat yourself to a nice meal while staying in Ubud. The Locavore team put together a menu that use local ingredients in such creative yet approachable way, every course told a beautiful story of the restaurants settings and surroundings. I did not have the drink pairing, but all the cocktails I ordered were great. We did the larger tasting and I was very full (comfortable and happy) at the end of my meal. But we also took our time. Don't rush the experience, enjoy every course as intended, and I think everyone can have a lovely time as we did.

Changing season, the nature adapts to it. This is where you would learn how to appreciate foods in general. 19 dishes (snack, main and dessert) for about 2.5 hrs. Beverage pairing available. But It may fill you up. So it's up to you. Cocktails here - brilliant too! Super Vegetarian & Vegan friendly place. An eye opening place for your palate, stomach and memories to cherish! When you happen to be in Ubud, Make a reservation and let yourself be submissive to the food play.

Always very very happy to dine here. The service is top-notch, the food is consistently amazing, and the ambience is comforting. Locavore always manages to elevate local produce with dishes that are endlessly creative and tasty. The numerous dishes don’t feel like they’re too much as the portion, the pacing, and the flavors are on point. I’ve tried the regular menu and the vegetarian menu, and both are equally tasty.

Perhaps this place was special in the past, but now it it isn't. None of the 19 snacks and courses served over 3 hours(!) were "wow". We had several better meals at a fraction of the price during our stay in Ubud. My fiancée and I were bored and ready to leave after 90 minutes. If the experience were trimmed down to 90 minutes with only the best courses, I would probably give it 4 stars. But 19 mostly mediocre courses over three hours? 2 stars.

We had amazing birthday dinner for my husband at Locavore. We really had the best experience. Foods was amazing. We were impressed by the watermelon dish, It surprisingly taste like meat. We had the 16 courses + 10 drinks pairing. It took us from 6pm to 9pm. From where it opens till closes. We were so lucky to have the restaurant only for us that night. I have shellfish allergy and I don't eat raw meat. However, I felt so accommodated. They replaced it with vegan option. Staffs were very attentive, friendly and call us by name. I'm impressed, usually Indonesian people are hesitate to use guest's name. The only thing is they need to be more confident when presenting the menu, speak louder and make eye contact to the guest as they speak. However I genuinely not recommending this restaurant for everyone. Only if you know how to value a high standard of molecular gastronomy then you will enjoy it. Because with such high price, I don't find any expensive ingredient. Everything is sourced locally and many even typically found grow naturally in the rice field. The restaurant setting also, very usual nothing looks expensive, or glamorous even though it is still very nice, lively and cozy. At Locavore you basically pay for the art, and molecular gastronomy. The ingredient is indeed, easy to find but the cooking technique is something very unique and only they know that technique. And when you come to dine here, you pay for the experience, to upscale your dining experience. Not because you want to fill up your stomach. You want that unforgettable unique experience in every bite.

The best dining experience for quite a while, and this meal will be remembered for a long time too. The chef is no doubt a genius, and the execution is spotless too. The drink paring is a must try, it elevates the whole thing. Plus the vegetarian menu is as good as the meaty one, if not better.

I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The restaurant's exquisite ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The attentive and knowledgeable staff were passionate about providing top-notch service, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. The menu was a culinary masterpiece, offering delightful flavors. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavors that delighted my taste buds. The ingredients were fresh and expertly paired, showcasing the chef's creativity and skill. I highly recommend Locavore to anyone seeking a remarkable culinary journey in Bali. It's a place where exceptional food, impeccable service, and a captivating ambiance combine to create a truly unforgettable dining experience. Not only that, but it was my sister's birthday celebration, and the staff surprised us with a special dessert and a heartfelt happy birthday card signed by the team. It made the evening even more memorable and truly touched our hearts 🩷

Absolutely loved this place. Food was superb but biggest impression made the staff who had really learnt every single thing about the dish. Not once did they go to "ask from the kitchen". Customer care beyond expectations and tells a lot about work culture and motivation. I loved how the menu was built as art galleries, it brought Interesting touch to the experience. It was also very nice touch to get Birthday wishes from entire staff. 🥰

One in a million, go there. I had an extraordinary meal of 20 courses, each one a painting in food. The meal began with a votive offering of pungent and perfumed leaves and flowers which set the tone for an incredible experience of terroir dining. My favourite - betel leaf filled with tamarind jam and cashews, topped with roasted coconut and served with grains of local pyramid salt. Divine. It’s a toss up between that and the lobster tartar served with aromatics cashew butter, lime and kendondog leaves. OMG. I had the drinks pairing which is well worth it too, some of those were truly original. I sat at the kitchen bar watching 10 chefs at work in front of me. The service is impeccable but what really stands out is the staff who are truly excited by the amazing flavour combinations they are creating from Balinese ingredients. This pure joy of cooking and taste comes through in the food and has made this one of the top 10 of all meals I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten and reviewed many delicious meals over the years. Go enjoy.

Exquisite food and atmosphere without being overly stuffy. It’s hard to imagine vegetarian food can earn Michelin stars, but Herbivore blew us away. Also great value for money. A similar meal in SF or NYC would easily cost $400+ for the level of food creativity and service.

What a beautiful restaurant! Hidden away in the Ubud city we found it by walking past and it was already shut for the day so we came back the next day! It’s a plant based degustation and I was so amazed by how delicate and detailed all the dishes were made. Every dish was amazing and I wish if I had a restaurant like this in my country! Warm and friendly service, nice natural and clean atmosphere and amazing food. I would highly recommend it for everyone! It’s an experience you can’t have, don’t miss out! Thanks to all the team, we absolutely loved it ❤️❤️

Herbivore is more than a restaurant, it's an art exhibition for your taste buds. We were blown away by the powerful flavors that came with each unique dish. As an expat, I could recognize various inspirations from Indonesian and Southeast Asian cuisine, and was impressed how each dish took those flavor concepts to a new level. The sorbet for dessert was particularly good. I sometimes preferred the flavors of the non-alcoholic drink pairings over the alcoholic ones, but the Arak served at the end was the best I've had in my 8 years in Indonesia. Highly recommend!

Amazing food experience. My wife and I had a cooking class there. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the class. Our teachers were helpful and guided us through several recipes and their preparation. The lunch we had after was excellent. Cocktails were very enjoyable. We went back a day later for a proper dinner. Again it was well presented and service was brilliant.

Truly unique and delectable Indonesian dining experience - you don't have a meal, you experience the Indonesian culture and flavors! Friendly and prompt wait staff. Newly opened by the Locavore folks and likely to become one of the best restaurants in Bali soon! Unique Indo themed cocktails is cherry on top.

Great service and awesome traditional Indonesian food with a modern twist! They bring out a plate of traditional sides for you to try at the start which was really nice. If you’re at all sensitive to spice this may not be the place for you as everything is medium spice. We didn’t find it too spicy but I imagine a lot of people would.

Incredible experience from start to finish! Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and had the best meal we’d had in ages.. genuinely!! There was a little surprise at the start which we loved, then the food we ordered (all Indonesian) was sensational. The Cincang Karo (BBQ Pork Belly), although very fatty, tasted incredible! The fish cooked in a banana and a coconut sauce (can’t remember the name - new on the menu) was also delicious again. Would recommend them both for sure!! Cocktails didn’t hit the high notes, but you can’t have it all. The Malbec was a worth substitute.

This place was highly recommended to us. We went for lunch on our last day in Ubud. I thought it was just ok. I probably ordered the wrong things. But I loved the cucumber coconut water drink. It was super refreshing and i could have drank it all day. Prices are a bit high. But the staff are nice and we didn’t have any issues with getting a table for lunch. The soft shell crab wasn’t good but the appetizer plate you get before the meal was amazing. I also had the octopus appetizer which was just ok.

When you can't get a seat in one of the World's Best 50 Restaurants, you settle for its offshoot... By far the best Indonesian food I've had. The sambal selection, the goat ribs (Rabeg) "curry" and BBQ pork belly (Se'i Babi) are big wins... Meats are cooked perfectly and flavours are punchy... Highly recommended if you find yourself in Ubud. In fact, plan it as part of your itinerary...

Incredible Indonesian food with a modern twist! Every dish was so tasty, the appetizer sample of local dishes and ingredients was fantastic, their vegetarian soup served in a coconut reminded me of one of my favorite thai restaurants but x 100. I was so full but ate every drop. Their cocktails were some of the best I have had (also highly recommend going to The Night Rooster just down the street after for mind blowing cocktails) AND they introduced me to how tasty Snake Fruit is! Highly recommended.

This is supposed to be the casual branch out from Locavore - some people expect this to be fine dining but no it's not anywhere close to it because it is NOT fine dining. It's casual Balinese dining where you order dishes and rice to eat. If you want fine dining then might as well book Locavore. It's a complete different experience from Locavore as they serve totally different food. The entire concept is different. We thought we could walk in but no, it's mandatory to make a reservation!! We ended up taking the 9pm slot because it was full house on a Thursday night... Coconut soup, bamboo pork, stir fry pork, banana flower salad, green chilli duck and the sambal selection. Service is honestly really too slow - it takes forever to order but food arrived relatively quick. Our bill came up to around IDR750k with a glass of wine which I found it to be reasonable. It's a little high if you're comparing it to regular warungs around, but here you're paying for a better ambience as well. Overall, we really enjoyed dining here and will definitely return if we ever return to Ubud. Please do make a visit here for those of you searching for casual Balinese dining. Remember to make a reservation to avoid disappointment!!!

Out of a 6 week trip throughout Asia, this was my favorite restaurant, and I ate at some really great places. Appetizer sampler tray sets the tone for what follows. They also have 5 or 6 spice sauces you can order, the latter of which my Vietnamese friend really loved. I enjoyed the mildest one with the explosion of favors already in their entrees. I could go on and on, but you simply must try if you wish to sample Indonesian food at its best!

This is not regarding the food, instead a problem with management. January 20th we had a reservation for 3 people. Everything seemed great in the beginning. Service explained that their dishes are local and spicy so they asked us about our tolerance and our main guest explained she could only do mild, if at all. So we picked our dishes, server came back and said the squid would be spicy but the rest spicy. All okay. The main course duck comes and it was medium (which later was said it is cooked that way and cannot be changed), we could not really eat it. Most of our plates were not finished with A LOT of leftovers. They suggested at the end they could exchange the duck for a chicken but at this point dinner was done for us. Everything reflected on the bill, and we asked to take leftovers so at least my son could eat it. There was a lot of miscommunication between us and the servers, no manager and we left pretty unhappy with the experience. If the spices could have been toned down as asked it would have been a great experience. With such a costly bill for the area, it was not worth it for us.

We took a set menu which is by the way 455k +service(which is missing) +tax, the food came after 45 minutes of waiting, everything was cold, they brought the rice in the end of the super spicy meal (so we didn’t need it at that time already), disgusting desert and in the end of everything my birthday “cake” with 2 candles like for the funeral. I’m super disappointed about this restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Local indonesia food with a modern touch, such delicious meals. Even the cocktails are amazing. If you love spicy, do try out all their sambal ranking from mild to the “blow your mind” spicy. if you are an adventurous eater do try their frog legs stir fried with local “kecap manis” a type of sweet soy sauce that made in Indonesia.

What I like: Love how Locavore utilizes local ingredients and creates amazing dishes with them ! Appetizers and desserts were equally godly :) super satisfied. The cocktail pairing enhanced the dining experience, lovely. I’d love to come again sometimes for the cocktails ! They hit the spot real good :) What I don’t like: Well, the main courses were a lot of misses in my humble opinion. The fish and the sea grapes was not as fresh as I expected, the duck was served in room temperature and somehow lack of flavor (despite the brilliant sauces), and the inside of the breaded veal brain was apparently not cooked thoroughly (I asked the waitress, but she clarified that it was cooked, and the reddish part wasn’t blood. I am not sure though). I do believe that there will be a lot of improvements if I have the opportunity to dine again, after all it’s Locavore :) !

The food was very unique and quite creative. A very nice dining experience. The drinks, particularly, were quite good! The fermented grape drink they had was marvelous. While the experience was very good overall, for the price, I expected more of the dishes to have been legendary - such as the hardened black rice with egg. That was amazing. But there were a few that missed that level.

What's not to love about Locavore! Ate here twice, once for lunch & recently for dinner. Creatively crafted menu from locally sourced seasonal ingredients. It's degustation style menu so you'll have small portions of a lot of dishes. You can also choose to have cocktail pairing with your food. Come hungry 😄 Food taste great and some intriguing. Another thing i really appreciate is their array of beautiful plates & vessels to serve their food & drinks. 2 thumbs up! It's better to make reservations because usually they are fully booked. During this pandemic period, they only serve dinner.

Locavore does not deserve one (or more) Michelin stars, as many argue. Locavore deserves a whole new world-famous guide. A guide where the use of local products is as celebrated as their quality. A guide where vegetarian dishes are valorised as top quality meat or fish. A guide where cocktails - possibly the best we’ve ever had - can match food as well as the most complex wines. A guide where service does not have to comply to some 18th century French dining etiquette and some breadcrumbs left on your table cloth are not a crime. A guide where a toilet can be just a toilet and does not need Danish design or Diptyque candles. Well, in that guide, Locavore happens to be, hands down, one of the best restaurants in the world. Given the incredible hype, I admit we have entered this restaurant with some degree of bias. After the first of the 5 amuse-bouche we were already deeply convinced. A constructive feedback: with a little extra effort, desserts could be brought to the next level so that the whole journey ends with a bang.

Sensational experience in Ubud. All dishes were obviously created with love. The service & kitchen staff are excellent - food quality, mix & preparation was mind blowing. The fried chicken wing stuffed with prawn did not really fit in the theme and made us bloat before the main course. Still an excellent dish on it‘s own. The chocolate base of the raspberry beret - oops sorry sorbet - was too thick to conquer with fork and spoon. Still an amazing dish. Our favourites were the lobster tartar & the lamb skewers. Definitely go with the drinks pairing - paired to perfection. Thank you chefs, thank you team. Can’t wait for the next ‚ACT‘.

I would’ve expected to find a restaurant that utilizes local ingredients with cutting-edge experiments in Copenhagen. I was beyond happy when I found it in my backyard, a.k.a. Bali. To get started, I love how smoky and full of umami taste the black rice blini was. I was impressed by the charred baby corn with cricket garum powder and felt a homey feeling when I galloped on the crispy coconut rice flatbread. My favorite one is the slowly roasted watermelon that has a similar texture as lean tuna, and since I do not eat red meat, I enjoyed the mushroom schnitzel. The coconut dessert reminded me of enjoying the beach in the summer, a little bit of sweet-spicy from the ginger honey, and some coconut smell. I hate to say "However, ...". Unfortunately, there is "however" in this case. I found that the ceviche kelor sauce was very salty, I thought you used salted fish (my Peruvian friend will strongly object to this). Another salty dish was the eggplant (a replacement for lamb) kari vinaigrette. Lastly, the lobster was overcooked and I would suggest changing the plating because the lobster is not bite size and it's very hard to cut the lobster in a bowl. I hope nothing but the best for Locavore team!

Service was excellent…food not so much. We purchased 6 full dinners and 3-cocktail pairings plus extra drinks. Cost was over $900 USD with NOT ONE food course being a “wow” amazing taste…and several courses were a complete miss and left uneaten. Don’t waste your time or $$$. An Unforgettable meal for all the wrong reasons!

Had an 18-course meal for lunch here and loved absolutely everything! Service was especially top-notch when one of the dish fell short of expectations (it was soggy and not crispy as it should) and it was swiftly changed, giving us a complete appreciation of the actual dish in its best form! I am amazed at how they were able to kept everything gluten-free, especially the butter! (Which was made out of fish bones) my other favourite is the toasted rice porridge sorbet - magnifique! One of the best casual fine-dining establishments we have tried and will definitely return!

Highly recommended! Awesome 9+9 set menu (main + snacks). We love the open kitchen concept. A place at the bar is definitely entertaining if you come with 1-2 ppl max. Service was Great and see serving in general super quick. 2,5 hours in total for the whole seating. Only point for improvement was the short selection for tea (green & Yasmin) Still definitely a 5 start place with awesome value for money since it’s a top fine dining / Michelin star experience

Such an amazing dining experience from start to finish. The ingredients are locally sourced and the chef is definitely a genius. Every dish was a piece of art and tasted wonderful. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to try fine dining in Bali.

As a fan of fine dining, the quality and execution didn't live up to the ambition of the ideas. A couple of the dishes on the 18 course menu were memorably good, a few were just good, many were questionable and a few were actively unenjoyable. We had an okay time overall, but I had to tell one of my companions that fine dining is not usually like this.

We had an incredible dinner here. The vegetarian menu was delicious, alongside the drinks pairing. The service was brilliant and everyone was so friendly. Highly recommended.

Very interesting fine dining experience. All 18 courses of food were theatrically presented to us. Some were ok, while some are absolutely yummy

This was the best dining experiences we will be talking for years. Everything is edible, locally grown, yet unique and creative. Picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll just post 13 pictures.

We loved our experience at Locavore. It was a fun dining experience and the service was attentive. It was my birthday week so they gave me a cake baked in a coconut with caramelized sugar on top! My favorite was the rice with the warm egg yolk (so creamy and flavorful) and the tomato soup.

Definitely one of the best meals of my life. I have enjoyed many a Michelin star restaurant and this deserves a star or two. The way the team expertly crafts the local ingredients into the most interesting, tasty and adventurous menu is truly an art form. I also loved the concept of a cocktail/drink pairing rather than a wine pairing - super unique and fun! Everyone on the staff was so kind and attentive, thoughtfully presenting and delivery of each course and describing the details of what to expect and how it is best to be eaten. Truly a meal I will always remember and cannot wait to see what this team is dreaming up next at their new spot!

Everything piqued my palates - playful use of local ingredients and flavours. The tomato hot-and-cold was especially intriguing, and a highlight for us. Service was also attentive and prompt. Would recommend!

A culinary adventure to the senses. I enjoyed the long menu with drinks pairing. And it did not disappoint one bit. Highly recommended! The interior is beautifully designed and the staff well trained. You don’t just get a meal here, you get an experience.

👍 Ordinary food in a spectacular location, in the middle of rice paddy. The crispy duck is really crispy, a bit too dry. The sate lilit is delicious. The gurami goreng bit bland / tasteless. Nor the sauce / sambal nor the fish have any taste. It also would be better if they have soup in their menu to...
