This restaurant proudly stands on its own land still belonging to the family of the original owner so they don't pay any rent. That's the key to to qualify food and service they provide. You pay for quality not for rent. Dinner for 2 with 4 alcoholic cocktails costs 800k IDR (around $55), still reasonable for the quality you get. Better reserve the table especially in the weekends. Beware non existent parking. Come with chauffeur or taxi.

Excellent restaurant. High quality food made with care. Efficient service. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in Bali, and certainly the best pizza crust I’ve had in Bali. Nice cocktail list including the superb coriander/lemongrass. Sate chicken was expertly grilled. Garden salad with watermelon was a surprise hit. The Bintang was chilled to perfection, which doesn’t say much by itself, but is clearly a brown m&m type of detail.

Ubud has been a surprise. Quite a few awesome restaurants, including Ibu Rai. Good menu, good service, great food, and good value for money. The Prawn avocado wonton dish was a winner. They ran out of avo, so substituted with mango, and I'd have it again any day. Also, the Balinese black rice dessert was beautiful and was presented like it was a Michelin Star chef.

This place was amazing, and only a 5 min walk from our hotel. The food was nice and authentic, with very fast service. They have great drink specials, which is what attracted us in the first place. I normally don’t order an app, main dish, and a dessert, but everything was so good. The chocolate turmeric moose was delish. My food was filling, flavorful, and not at all heavy. The ambiance was great, the staff was super sweet, and very inexpensive.

I was worried that this place will be a tourist trap but the Indonesian food and drinks we ordered turned out to be exceptional! The seafood curry (Kare Bali) and sautéed chicken (Ayam Rica-rica Manado) were very flavourful and all the proteins were perfectly cooked (not a single piece was overcooked and dry) and seasoned. The restaurant is situated inside a traditional Balinese house and this made the dining experience extra special in my opinion. The staff were amicable and helpful too.

My favorite is the grilled whole fish enjoyed w Balinese sauce (sambal matah), fish has some light spice flavor but not spicy or overpowering at all.. the duck dish w raspberry was another delicious choice and cooked to perfection, very tender!! rest of the family also enjoyed their meals— one ordered the Thai beef basil stir fry, my mother in law is a vegetarian and enjoyed cap cay but enjoyed it more when I gave her some hot sambal to mix in:) We celebrated here for husbands birthday — they dimmed lights and clanked bintang bottles along w birthday song.. he was clapping for the birthday person until he realized they were walking towards our table then started laughing🤣🤣

OUTSTANDING! Serivce was professional & restaurant was beautifully laid out as were the tables. Food was brilliant & to a really high level of catering (the chefs clearly care about the food they put out), we both cleared our plates. A fantastic story about the origin of the place in the front of the menu which i thought was a great touch. They could charge more and id have been happy to pay otherwise we found the menu inexpensive and provided enough options for all diets. Would recommend as a must visit in Ubud.

Exceptional food and service offering great value. This was our 4th visit to Ibu Rai. The consistency of quality of good is first class. Great menu. Lovely atmosphere. This is simply the best place we have eaten is 4 weeks of travelling Bali. Authentic - desserts are equally as good as the starters and main courses. This restaurant was recommend by a Balanese friend of mine. It did no disappoint. I had the curry duck and it was very tender and the curry had a nice flavor served with a crunchy peanut cracker. The restaurant had a good atmosphere with great service. The food and drinks were served much quicker than other restaurants I've been to in Ubud. I highly recommend that you given them a try.

Wow! What a great find! Delicious food with fresh ingredients at a reasonable price! The beef tenderloin was my favourite - cooked perfectly and paired with a delicious sauce! The avocado seafood salad was also quite good and the chicken Gordon bleu was decent. Great cocktails for good value and a nice atmosphere here too with candle lights and frontage open to the street. We would definitely come back here!

Pretty lovely restaurant. Get the local food and you won’t be sorry! There’s a lot of people eating pizza (bad of course) and pasta (possibly OK) which is totally bonkers. Try the local food, it’s delicious. Unfortunately smoking is allowed, do you might be out of luck and have dmoke in your face while you’re eating.
