Looks more like paradise than a restaurant. Lies in a very natural environment and is enhanced by the decoration used by the restaurant, really cool. The food is very good, traditional Balinese with mainly duck as the star of the show. Would recommend for sure!

It is a beautiful place, quite with long path. Anyway, we ordered the 'must try' dish but the taste is normal, it does not worth with the price. the service is not up to the standard compare to other restaurants. Hope you can improve it.

Had spicy duck for myself and crispy duck for my friend. The duck is unique unlike the ones you have in Chinese cuisine. Food is pricey but i guess you are paying for the experience. The entrance was underwhelming but once we walked in, we were awestruck by the spacious seating areas in the middle of paddy field. It’s nice to try for the experience but we found the food was overpriced

We ordered via grab and the set meal is really huge. We shared among 3 but felt that it can feed 4 pax. Food is packed well and secured. Duck is very flavourful with all the seasoning and yet tender. The chicken sate is fragrant with lemongrass too! Will eat it again!

This restaurant is famous for its crispy duck. The size of the crispy duck is big and very crisp. We ordered special fried rice with sunny side up, unfortunately it’s too sweet for me. The restaurant is spacious and has a nice view. They also provide a specious parking area not far from the restaurant.

Amazing. We walked in without any expectations and this place totally blew our minds away - like a little piece of paradise just a few steps away from the busy Ubud road: an entire new world start after the counter - gardens, flowers and lotus ponds decorated with Balinese statues everywhere. We were given a whole area even for only the two of us, and without having made any booking in advance. The duck was crispy to a level we could have imagine, it was yum and just super yum. The staff was friendly, quiet and we felt super comfortable there. Highly recommended.

A must do when in Ubud! Beautiful, delicious food. Duck is their specialty. A little bit on the pricier side of available food options but worth it. Loved the outdoor seating! Friendly wait staff. Would recommend.

I've been going here for over 25 years. They have the best duck I've ever eaten. Plus, it's an absolutely beautiful setting complete with parking. I highly recommend that you make time to visit. Then go to Mas if you went to Ubud looking for wood carvings.

We had the best duck (bebek) ever at this place. While it is perceived to be expensive, it is actually similarly priced as any other restaurants in Ubud market area. The ambience is really nice. The service is decent. We would really recommend it if someone wants to try duck.

Come here for the second time. I ordered an original crispy duck set, and the other three guests decided to try something different and order a whole duck with sambal sauce set meal. I like the original version very much, but the rest of the guests didn't really like the non-crispy version. The restaurant setting is beautiful, and sit next to a paddy field with gardens around the dining area. Overall, it's very satisfying and probably should go for the original version of the crispy duck.

We had chicken instead of duck (bebek), original dish. It was really good and we love all the sauces they served. Very big portion so bewared when ordering 😂 218K idr for 2 people (1 main dish with chicken, 1 salad). Highly recommend!

Great experience. The duck was very crispy and flavourful and is the main attraction of this restaurant. The chicken soup was lacking though (small portion and a bit bland). The drinks were a bit weak (alcoholic ones) but seems to be normal in Ubud area. The restaurant in set on a nice garden with jackfruit trees, rice field, water fountain and cute duck statue to take pictures of. Good experience.

We ordered signature crispy duck and duck with green sauce. It was crunchy, a little dry, but I suppose it should be like this. Not a huge fan of the dish but I think everybody should try at least once as it’s a very popular dish in Ubud. The place is beautiful, green and you can choose to sit at the table or kind of “tatami” floor seat. The drinks were bad, full of sweet, thick syrup :(

We are regulars at the Bebek Bengil. Quiet and beautiful Balinese setting in the middle of Ubud. The food standards do vary quite a lot. Most days is good but last visit was bad. The kitchen forgot to remove the feather ends from the fried duck skin. Enough to put you off your meal! My vegetarian friend opted for vegetarian fried rice. That also was a disappointment with a few bits of semi cooked red and green pepper thrown into the white rice. Tasteless. We may go back if we are desperate because it is not always that bad. Maybe the kitchen cannot cope with the volume of tourists or maybe the main chef had his day off and as they say when the cat is out….the mouse plays! Whatever it was the reason for the bad day, we hope the management review their food standards as it would be a pity to see this lovely place declined.

(Translated by Google) always come here every time or birthday. the food is all delicious, but sometimes the staff is not alert and differentiates the service. I never dressed casually compared to nicer clothes, but the response was different. is it because I'm a local? Well laid out and a huge restaurant with good service and a mini rice field view. The food was OK.. the menu stated that the chicken is steamed but it was way too oily to be called steamed and pretty tough to tear through.. the duck was well cooked with the right amount of spices and tenderness to the meat.. overall… not really impressed with the food.

They really know how to roast and fry duck! Great restaurant in the centre of Ubud town with delicious dishes at really good prices, we came here at least twice during our stay. The duck is a lot leaner here but has maximum flavour, so you definitely will want to get stuck in with your hands. I love my spice, so the duck with spicy and sour sauce was my favourite, definitely hit the spot. The restaurant itself is HUGE, just keeps going with a wonderful and calming decor with the ponds and more traditional style outdoor (and covered) seating areas. The service is like most places in Ubud, really friendly, efficient and relaxed, no complaints whatsoever. This restaurant has definitely become an institution so would highly recommend giving it ago, as they do other dishes besides the dirty duck.

Wonderful place to come for the roasted duck (as you might imagine from the name) 🦆 But they have other choices too, as well as a few vegetarian options, and chicken. The restaurant is very big and set in a beautiful gardens with ponds, statues, and live Balinese gamelan music playing softly in the background. Even if you don't eat duck this place is worth visiting for a group meal.

Looks like a place that pays driver to drive them to this place. I asked the driver to drive me to go eat babi but he drove me to this place instead which is known for duck instead. Food is normal. Ordered fresh seafood grill. But the fish is overcooked and hard. The prawns are not fresh and soft. The only good about the whole dish is probably the long beans, follow by the squid.

I'm not a bebek-lover. I've tried tepisawah, joni, timbungan etc some ducks elsewhere, but this is the only BEST CRISPY DUCK that's not fishy. Long tables in the central gazebo are our family's favorite because the wind is cooler and the sound of mini waterfall feels very comfortable, the children are happy to see the fish. If you're lucky you can also meet snakes in the back rice fields😄

This place is absolutely gorgeous. If you sit in the back, it overlooks a small rice terrace. That where the excitement ends. We ordered the house special of the half crispy duck dinner. The duck was incredibly small and cooked so long that there was barely any meat to eat on it. I will say the duck spring rolls were delicious and that's the reason I did 2* for food. Our server was not friendly at all. This has NOT been the case in just about every other restaurant we've been to. Was a bit surprising. Was very disappointed in this restaurant based on the good reviews.

This restaurant looks more like a resort & is huge. Staff are very friendly and speak good English. Although their specialty is duck, they serve various other type of meat. Place is very tastefully set up and a great place to take some nice photos. Food is considered ok and price is reasonable. Give it a try if you are in Ubud, Bali.

The restaurant is quite beautiful in its settings with multiple traditional Balinese seating areas surrounded with lotus ponds. Unfortunately I found the food and service not on par with the surroundings. Had to flag someone to take our order and settle our bill. Fried duck, which they were famous for, was just ok. For the price, I think you have better options but if you are looking for a romantic setting, this is the place.

Tried their best seller. Dirty duck. It was a bit dry and not a lot of meat. The environment was pretty and peaceful. Staff was friendly and polite. Overall not bad for the experience. Food was not as good as I would have expected. Still worth the try.

This place is huge and full of beautiful garden and rice field. Their service is marvelous, very kind and helpful staff. The duck is great but not that special, a bit overpriced. The fried rice is good to try, even though it's not their specialty.

IDR 400k for 2 main course (bebek bengil signature), 2 extra rice, and 2 ice tea. Service for driver is provided in the parking lot. A bit pricey but I think it's worth it. The main course portion was big, enjoy half a duck for yourself! Comes with 3 kinds of sambal: spicy chili, matah, and non spicy (maybe it's a tomato sambal). If you are spicy junkie, the spicy one will def satisfy your pallete! I love the sambal matah so much, very fragrance and delicious! Ate every bit of the duck meat. Space is outdoor with roof, spacious and very green. Beautiful garden with koi ponds and lotus flowers. Very friendly and helpful staffs.

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, like a 5 star resort hotel restaurant, with ponds and ample space and different huts for each table, and yet the food is not super expensive. The vegetables were very nice, but I found the satays and duck to be nothing too great. Their signature crispy duck is good for most, but you might prefer the smoked one if you like sauce with your meal. They have non spicy options, and even the slightly spicy ones are really not that spicy (this is coming from a Singaporean who can hardly take spice).

Outside looks very simple, but once entered you will discover a very big territory with lots of tables. It reminds of a small park with different places to sit and dine. Duck was really good.

Our family dinner at Bebek Bengil was a delightful experience. The original duck and fried chicken were both hits—my daughter couldn't get enough of the chicken, while my wife savored the duck, reveling in its flavors. The pleasant ambiance and scrumptious dishes made for a memorable evening. The added convenience of free valet service alleviated any parking concerns, allowing us to focus on enjoying our meal. The staff's exceptional friendliness further enhanced our dining experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, it's worth noting that the prices are on the higher side. While the quality of the food and the overall experience justifies the cost to an extent, it might be a consideration for those mindful of their budget. Overall, Bebek Bengil offers a tasteful blend of culinary delights and excellent service, making it a worthwhile choice for a special family dinner. Sorry about the picture, it was taken by my four years old daughter.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 3.5 / 5 Stars Very tasty bebek🦆 however, I felt that fried duck was a tiny bit too hard and dry for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed the food thoroughly but just not how I envisioned the fried duck to be. Juices were just not well locked in within the skin of the duck (thus dry) and some parts of the duck were overly charred (as seen in my image). The sambal and chili onion sauce however did help enhance the taste of the duck. The vegetables were superb and helps to cleanse my palate together with the rice. Balancing the entire meal. Still worth eating but maybe the crispy duck is not something you would like to order if you prefer saucy food. Alternatively, you can try the grilled duck meal, my friend enjoyed his grilled duck very much. Plus Points: Staff Service were great 👍🏻

In my opinion, this place could easily be top 10 in Bali. The atmosphere is just beautiful and relaxing 😌 to start, and the food is divine. You sit away from other guests and can enjoy a private dining experience. So quiet and relaxing with pleasant music and water fountains ⛲️. The grilled seafood was absolutely astounding - highly recommend trying this dish. Best Gado Gado around too. Duck spring rolls are so delicious. Cold beers and great cocktails to give this place the exclamation mark ❗️ it deserves!

Great dining experience! Nice atmosphere 175k idr for their signature half crispy duck with rice and side veg. 40k for yummy fruit smoothie. Went on a weekday at 11am and was served my food in 10 minutes. No reservation. Duck was a little too dry for my liking though. The duck meat. I'm thinking about the french duck confit, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside.

The simple entrance gave no hints about the green oasis within. There are different huts within a garden setting with normal tables as well as tatami seating. Beyond the garden was rice paddy fields. Crispy duck is interesting though duck is small and not too fleshy

It has a bit tourist attraction feeling, but has a nice garden setup. The duck spring roll and crispy duck were our favorites. For the prices, they could improve the toilet hygiene.

The original crispy duck was so delicious! We loved visiting here on our way to the airport (about 20 min) It has the perfect view of the ocean right on the beach with the friendliest staff and delicious food. Would definitely recommend! Super spicy sauces on the side be aware! My hubby likes spicy but shared this was the spiciest he ever tried 😮

Beautiful place, almost too massive but good upkeep. Lot of greetings upon arriving. Zero story about food or process. Zero follow-up on how we are doing or how the food was. Waitress walks past several times but zero interaction. The smoked duck was good but too drenched in spice paste that we could barely feel the smokiness. For something smoked, it's too wet and dripping. Plates not cleaned up until I had to ask someone to come by and do so. Poor dessert menu with Zero Balinese related desserts. Person going with bike parking is amazingly effecient.

Tender and tasty duck at its best! We went to this place after walking pretty much all around Ubud. The food was such a treat and well deserved dinner to end the day. Ambience of Bebek Bengil remains to be one of the best preserved area in the midst of constant developments in Ubud. I recommend coming to this place for lunch for best view of the padi/rice field (and also avoid mosquito bites at night 😅)

Duck is super crispy and tasty! High recommend to try. Also ordered Nasi Goreng which didn’t disappoint me either. Ambient is nice and not too crowded when we were here at 730pm. Will come back next time.

Ordered the whole duck set. The duck was flavourful, marinated with many local spices to give it its character. Service was fast as we went during non-peak hours. It's worth a try for duck lovers.

Bebek Bengil was highly recommended by a friend. I tried Pizza Bebek Bengil Medium and Hot Lemon Tea. The duck pizza was great! For those who are not a fan of duck, don't worry the menu does have other non-duck items as well.I was very wow-ed with the ambience as it was a one of a kind restaurant. We got a pavilion to ourselves. There were mosquitoes and other insects flying around but the staff noticed and were most helpful with lighting up the mosquito coil.

It's almost cultural to eat here during every visit to Ubud. The restaurant is located in the middle of rice paddy field, with clear view of the village and sound of running water (from a man-made pond, but at least it's semi-natural). The crispy duck definitely came crispy, and paired well with sambal matah made from raw shallots and coconut oil. The satay lilit were great, came in chicken, duck and fish variety. The fish satay was the best out of the three. The Thai wings were not a local recipe, but we're still fun to eat and share with the table. It's too bad that Ubud wasn't as cool as before, too many buildings have made the place hotter since I remembered it. But, as I said, it's almost cultural to visit again, and the wonderful food was a great bonus.

I had a juice, crispy duch, and mixed seafood platter. The best thing was the juice! It was really good, actually. Crispy duck was OK, just like any crispy duck you can buy anywhere around Bali. Coming to seafood, it was a disaster, way overcooked, and tasteless. Regarding the prices, it was very expensive and an overrated restaurant. My order was around 400k IDR, and I was not satisfied, and guess what, I never got my change when I paid! Bottom line, I don't recommend it at all. For half that price, there are a ton of good restaurants around Bali.

  • 5/5 Ruth A. 10 months ago on Google
Loving the crispy duck so much. It's not too oily, super crispy but the meat is still really tender and flavourful. The sambal matah is the gem for us! Would love to come back again next time during the day.

(Translated by Google) The place is very comfortable and the duck is not too fatty, crispy until the bones are crispy plus the meat is soft. Served with urab and 3 different kinds of chili sauce, it's even more delicious. One more thing, the price per serving of this bengil duck is sure to be tough for the wallet hehehe (Original) Tempatnya nyaman banget dan bebek bengilnya gak terlalu berlemak, crispy sampai tulangnya kriuk2x plus dagingnya lembut. Late post: Our guide recommended this restaurant to try its original crispy duck. It was worth the try. Crisp to perfection. We ordered many dishes, all of them were delish. Loved the snail stuffed mushrooms. To my surprise pasta Alfredo was another hit. Beautiful setting with huge garden but the mosquitoes were total no. As we went for dinner I couldn’t take good pictures but overall experience was good. People were very friendly & nice.

Give 3 stars because it's overpriced and indeed the food is supposed to be super great. We spent almost 400k for 2 set meals of Bebek Bengil duck with all the condiments and sweet iced tea. Probably you can find somewhere else to eat duck with more affordable price.

(Translated by Google) #culinaryreviewer ig: @ trip.eat.sleep There is no doubt about the taste of this duck ... Even though the portion is 1/2 tail, the chunks are large ... The place is ok, quite cozy Strategic location, easy to find ... There is valet parking, no confusion about parking ... The price is rather expensive, but it's still worth it..👍👍 (Original) #kulinerreviewer ig: @trip.eat.sleep Tidak diragukan kalau soal rasa Bebek yg satu ini.. Bahkan porsi nya meski 1/2 ekor, potongannya besar... Tempatnya ok cukup cozy Lokasi strategis, mudah menemukannya... Ada valet parkir, ngga bingung soal parkir... Harga memang rada mahal, tapi masih worth it..👍👍
