First impression, it’s a stunning view cafe in Sayan neighborhood. The food is japanese and Latin fusion which is very unique combination. Good place for chilling in the afternoon, friendly staff, nice food, and the most important is breathtaking view with all the greens around. You can choose whether you want to sit down on the sofa or in the bar area which very nice view. The toilet also clean, well decorated and spacious. Definitely will be my first option when I’m around Sayan.

For those saying this is too expensive for Bali, what a stupid remark. Restaurants in Bali can't charge a premium for finely crafted things just because this isn't in Europe? I find that to be a ridiculously ignorant tourist remark. For the record, it's not too expensive these reviewers are just cheap. You'd easily be paying double or more for something of similar calibre in other 'developed' countries. With that being said this place has absolutely amazing food! I am always hesitant when it comes to fusion, and roll my eyes especially hard at Japanese fusion. It was a common oversaturated buzz word years ago, however this place does it right. Everything I had was really interesting and they all tasted great. Oh and the views are not bad neither.

Ok, so this is the kind of place I came to Bali for, oh yes. People saying it's expensive, by local standards it is, but it's high end, and a fraction of the price you'd pay for the same in a Western country (my estimate was about 40% of what I'd pay for the same in the UK). And you get the king of the views, staggering scenery, top level instagramability 📸👌. Obviously get here before the sun goes down.. Food was faultless, had all the tacos on the menu (tempura chicken the pick) and some amazing sushi & ceviche (the photo). Can't recommend enough. Think about booking in advance though, we got quite lucky and arrived early. You can go to the bar instead if you just want a drink and check out the view/are on a budget. I don't review much but this place felt worth it. Make sure you go!

The venue seemed pleasant, and the drinks and desserts were enjoyable. However, I am confused by the difference between the great ambiance and cuisine compared to the inappropriate behavior of the staff. From the beginning to the end of our visit, we were treated differently than the tourists, without any apparent reason. If the establishment is exclusively for tourists, it would be considerate to have a sign indicating so, preventing locals from spending their money there. What frustrated me the most was a waiter preparing flaming cocktails right next to me for the tourists, causing discomfort due to the intense heat. There was no apology offered, even when I chose to leave. To add to the disappointment, as we were exiting, a staff member thanked the tourist customers but completely ignored us. I never expected such poor service in Ubud. If you are a local, I recommend exploring other places in the area with better and more respectful service.

Just stunning! Such a great tropical view with the Four Seasons Resort in the background. Warm welcome, nice staff. The food looks great, tastes very nice as well. However, price based its on the expensive side. Would give it 4 stars but the view makes up to it. When you go to Ubud this place should be at least on your 'want to visit' place. You go here for the excellent view primarily, and if possible you are here for sunset (reservation even better). You can come around 16-17, start with a drink, order some food after that, and have one of the better Ubud sunset views with good dinner. Bring your own favourite mosquito spray or use the provided spray from The Sayan House. Dronepilots are allowed to fly up to a certain distance (cant shoot four seasons) Easy to approach with scooter. There is parking for cars as well. If you drive yourself you should use google maps because the sign not so easy to find.

We went for a relaxed dinner with friends. While we were waiting for our main course they came and asked us to order dessert as they were closing the kitchen, which we did. Then they brought us the dessert before the main courses arrived. After this was over we opened a bottle of champagne with dessert and after our first sip they came and brought us the bill and started turning off the lights. Total ignorance of proper hospitality basics. What a shame for such a nice location.

If you're looking for a memorable sunset dinner with a view of the jungle, you must try this place. The view is simply incredible, and the service and food are equally impressive. However, please note that due to limited seating, it's advisable to make a reservation in advance. Once we arrived, we were greeted quickly and offered the menu. The service was amazing and we would definitely recommend this place to others.

Beautiful outdoor space overlooking the jungle valley and the incredible looking Four Seasons resort. The cocktails are crafted to perfection offering an interesting combination of Mexican and Japanese liquors. The food is fantastic as well. Very much enjoyed the tacos, as well as the sushi options they had. Highly recommend coming here to catch a stunning sunset.

Great view for sunset, the fusion of Japanese and Mexican seems to be funny but somehow it works for some items. The place has great service from the waiters and staff, but the food is quite pricey. Would recommend to others, but not for a quick bite. It's best to enjoy the view, vibe and time together here.

This is easily one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever been to, if you are in ubud please come here! The staff are wonderful and kind and the view was absolutely to die for. It’s a great place to watch sunset. It’s just a little bit too expensive for the food in my opinion, hence the four stars. It’s worth it for a special occasion.

I had no expectations and Sayan House was outstanding. The view - yes amazing. But the menu made me read it over again and again with intrigue. The food delivered on the intrigue. The flavors clean and complementary, sufficient in substance and served with expertise. Wines good. Sushi innovative and deftly made. Mains outstanding. Best toilets in Bali. See you tomorrow!!!

Lovely staff who provide wonderful service, great atmosphere and interiors, but unfortunately the food does not live up to its promise. I ordered a number of the recommended dishes. Squid was tough and chewy, sauce and sprouts incredibly salty, salad was simply sour, chocolate cake was heavy and gooey with banana, and the final palette cleanser was sweet enough to rot your teeth. The dishes are not at all balanced. This is a restaurant that markets on more than the kitchen can deliver. Shame because the staff are so nice and the space is beautiful, perhaps worth a visit for cocktails but if you like (and know) good food, you will not be satisfied here.

If you are looking to have a great dine, in a relaxed environment and stunning views, this is an absolute must. Ooohh! What a place in Ubud. Perfect ambience for any part of the day. Whether you are alone, family or couple this is a place worth checking out. Good food and tasting cocktails. Prefer the seatings by the stool overlooking Four Season Sayan. Definitely will come back when the time comes!

Amazing view and just nice seat spread, so when it is packed with customer, it is not really that crowded. Some open space for event and also private area for romantic/special event. Food was nice, fusion of Mexican and Japanese. The place is great for sunset time, as it is facing to west side of Bali and with the view of Ubud jungle and river, get ready to spend at least 3 hours stunned with the view.

Great resort-restaurant. I had the pleasure to visit it for an afternoon and spent quality time with amazing food, view and super kind staff which took care of us properly. The menu is quite good and a good mix of japanese and Indonesian dishes. Price is fair given the service and quality

Amazing! Wow. Brilliant staff, all extremely friendly and welcoming. So polite. The view is unreal, and almost warrants a 5 star review on its own. Make sure you get there during daylight hours so you can take it all in. Cocktails were lovely. The food was delightful, tacos were brilliant, so tasty. The teriyaki duck was delicious! Would definitely recommend a visit here! The staff then ordered us a taxi to get back to our hotel. 5*

Beautiful restaurant, great view, impeccable service, but sub-par food considering the price. We had the Chicken Nangam which tasted best, but pricey for only chicken (no sides or veg). The pork ribs were best value for money in terms of size. I would recommend this place for a romantic sunset drink.

Stunning views and I would highly recommend going to the bar around sunset. If you would like to have dinner here I strongly recommend reserving in advance. Lovely cocktails which you can also request without alcohol. Beware it will become busy around sunset time so do get there in advance to grab yourself a good seating area

everything was perfect; although the food was the only mediocre thing we had. 1. i like the ambiance and the music. 2. the crowd who went there were mostly decent and really respectable. 3. i loved the drinks though i only had cappuccino and kombucha 4. designed nicely. (very important) we were on a cny celebration. there were a lot of eastern asians in the crowd, and a mix of westerners. i think its safe to say that this place has all it needs. i rate five stars.

We had an amazing dinner at The Sayan House. The menu is diverse with great vegetarian/vegan options. The food was amazing and the service was great. We visited after sunset and there was a great vibe. I really recommend this place for a celebration or date night.

The service was phenomenal. They sat us quickly and efficiently, we were given a light complementary appetizer and sorbet. We ordered sushi and tacos all of which were fantastic we actually ordered a second prawn tempura roll. The flavors were noticeable. We had a special request to substitute the chicken for prawns in the teriyaki taco and the chef was easy to make it work. Would definitely recommend.

I live in Bali, this is the best food and overall dining experience i have had on the island. The venue is fantastic, the view over the valley is truly grand for sunset. The live music was very nice, not too loud, just what the place needs to set for a great vibe. I usually am wary of fusion cuisine, as it turns out overdone and pretentious most of the time. My my did this restaurant knocked it out of the park. Everything is daring, everything is clever, all plates came out fast and delicious. The menu does a good job at catering for everyone and be local. It could very much be awarded a Michelin star. Service was smily, efficient and attentive. Nothing to say but great job. Price is premium but i was happy with how great everything went and didn't feel overcharged. Do book in advance, and hopefully you will be as amazed as we were.

The view makes the restaurant. It’s truly beautiful any time of day, even when it’s raining. Perfect for sunset cocktails or dinner. Unfortunately, many of the dishes we ordered were not really good. The sauces were store-bought (which I don’t think is ok for a high-end place). And the service very poor (they forgot to put in the order for my friend’s dish so she had no appetizer). The atmosphere was also ruined by the other guests who were quite drunk and load, completely defeating the purpose of the place. All in all, the view saves the restaurant. Decent, expensive food. Poor service.

This place has a fabulous view and 5 star service. It’s definitely a posh vibe for foodies. The atmosphere is romantic though I came alone. The guacamole roll is incredible. I would go back just to taste the chili aioli again. It is more expensive than most spots in Ubud but after 2 drinks an appetizer and main meal, 35 Usd including tip is not a bad price considering the quality. They certainly know 5 star food and service. Definitely worth checking out!

First of all, amazing view, especially during the sunset. Moreover, the food is great and I really enjoyed the mix of Japanese and Latin American cuisines. Finally, they have nice cocktails (which is not typical to Ubud)

I just can’t get enough of this place. In the time I spent in Bali, I went here three times. They make the absolute BEST foie gras nigiri I’ve ever had. I swear, I dream about this dish months later, especially in quarantine. Another excellent part of this restaurant are the exotic cocktails. Antoine made the best and most creative cocktails I’ve ever had. Plus if you’re into sunsets, here you have one of the best spots to see Bali’s beautiful red sunset! A must visit! ?

A beautiful place in Ubud where you can have a cup of cofee or a bottle of Wine with a wonderful and natural view. The place is located in the edge of a cliff so you can have a diferrent experience here. The price of the menu is lil pricy but it's worth with what you get. The ambience is really nice. You'd better come here from the 3pm - 6pm. You'll get the best natural lighting from the sun and good photos

But closer to sunset a lot of people come, they no longer have seats and they just walk around the bar area, take pictures, almost poke you in the face with phones. Uncomfortable. The food is expensive. Good cocktail list, but prices are one and a half times higher than average (Original) Невероятный вид на джунгли. Атмосферно, очень красиво. The views are simply stunning! Get there at 5:30 pm for pre-sunset. A new outdoor deck has been built and on Sunday night it was full, lively and buzzing with that special kind of Sayan House ambience that befits 5-star dining. The oil torches were lit in the garden just after sunset, and the whole restaurant was candlelit - small tea-candles on every staircase , the tables beautifully adorned and glowing by candlelight, and so romantic !!! I am vegetarian and the choices were ample. The food 5-star and service is 5-star++. We went there for our anniversary and got the best table. You book online. Super easy. Wait staff are very knowledgeable about incredible menu choices which are Japanese and Latino infused flavours, styles and OMG - the food is incredible.

(Translated by Google) If you go to Ubud and want to see the sunset, this is the right place. Unfortunately when I came here I just finished testing, so the sunset was embarrassed to be covered by clouds, ... But the sunset is still not inferior to the beaches in Bali, love it 😘 (Original) Kalo ke ubud dan pengen lihat sunset, tempat ini lah yg paling tepat,. Sayangnya pas kesini baru beres ujan, jd sunset nya malu2 ketutup awan,.. Tp ttep sunset nya gk kalah sama pantai2 yg ada di bali, love it 😘

No wonder there’s a hype about the scenic location, but the food is totally bluff, lots of frozen and preserved ingredients, price beyond cosmic, no selection of decent wine.... maybe you should come for a sunset drink at maximum.

I know Ubud has many places to enjoy any kind of food and drinks you can choose... but, only few really offer great drinks, cocktails with beautiful scenery, elegant ambience and cool music. Try their signature cocktail named Ayung Whisper! Siiip!o

First time here at recommendation of a friend. View is indeed breathtaking. We ordered some light food and cocktails. I love the foie gras and the grilled pork salad. The steak was also good. Would definitely come again in our next visit to Bali.

The other review said that we can watch sunset from here, but not yet tried to stay until the dawn. Staff are friendly, helpful, food was great 😍😍. I’ve tried their veg sushi and really love the mash potatoes. Ambience was quite and nice. Really recommended this place, but one thing is this place is pricey but still recommended thoooo

Lovely dinner with ever so gorgeous view! One of the best in Bali, definitely the best in Ubud. The food are simply delish - Japanese Latin Fusion is so well-thought and made), I wish we have it in Jakarta. For me it's a little bit too dark to come for 7pm dinner, best time is drinks around 4pm and have early dinner at 6. One of the best experience ever in Bali! ❤

One of my favourite place to hangout for lunch. Been here more than 20 times. My go to food here are the tacos, foie gras, bentobox and the macha with black bean tiramisu. Dinner = romantic vibe and Lunch = chill single, friendly vibes.

Nice place & views, spacious garden, uniquely-themed restrooms with automatic Japanese toilets, expensive f&b, lots of foreigners came without masks

  • 5/5 Christopher G. 2 years ago on Google
Unique dining experience above a valley in Ubud. The food is a fusion of Japanese and South American cuisine. The cocktails were half decent but honestly, with the view, they could have served us just about anything and still deserve 5 stars.

  • 5/5 Alan K. 2 years ago on Google
Really nice place! View is amazing. Foods are in the expensive sides, but acceptable given the vibes and everything, and it taste good too. Service was good. Would visit here again when visiting Ubud.

Fancy place for dinner and sunset 🔥 This design, atmosphere… It can be nice date if you plan to eat there Best seats you can find in the bar corner or tables in the front. I recommend to check smoking room I am in love with their paintings on the walls

It's tough to beat this place at sunset in Ubud. I certainly think the menu is limited, drinks are also a meh in terms of choice. But the atmosphere is mad. Highly recommended

  • 5/5 Farah D. 2 years ago on Google
Food is a fusion between Japanese and Latin, not really my cup of tea. The view from the deck is gorgeous, ambience is also nice. But I do think this place deserves a 5-star because of the restrooms :D

This is the best gourmet restaurant I’ve been to in Bali! Yes, it is pricey, but if you are a foodie you will love it. Innovative Japanese-Latin fusion with bright and complex flavors, great ambiance (that view!), kind service. We had the foie gras nigiri, the ceviche, pork ginger salad, pork ribs (yes, my fiancé loves pork lol), and the salmon. All were amazing - it was just too much food! Will definitely come back here again for a special occasion or just when we are in the mood for beautiful, delicious food.

The place to sit down at sunset and to eat good food. The view of the river, rice fields and nature are amazing. The fusion between Mexican and Japanese food works great!

  • 5/5 Lawrence A. 1 year ago on Google
Came here in the afternoon for some drinks and food. The view was breathtaking. The ceviche was refreshing with a nice flair of local ingredients. Also ordered the burger which was a beef/pork blend and the tempura taco, both were amazing. The service was exceptional, they accommodated every request. The restroom even had the fancy Japanese toilet with buttons. We only went to Ubud for day trips but coming here was everything I wanted Ubud to be and more.

We loved it here!! Great food, good music and incredible views of rice terraces. Would totally recommend it. I ate the sushi and my boyfriend ate noodles, all delicious. Also the chilli chocolate cake was really tasty. We also got complimentary food, they were really kind. Thank you guys!

Location, location, location. The setting is a dream. The sunsets here are pure magic. They will let you stay for 2,5 hours till the next shift. Staff is very friendly, the food is good. Sushi is great, the tacos too. I’d skip the sushi-taco though

Beautiful setting overlooking a stunning valley. We popped in for a light lunch and were offered a seat at a counter overlooking 4 Seasons resort and a spectacular view. My husband ordered a hamburger and said it was the best one he'd ever had, praise indeed. I ordered the pork boa bun and the pork was succulent and the buns light and fluffy they were delicious. It started to rain and the staff sprung into action and took us up a level into their more upmarket restaurant where we were treated like honoured guests. This place was fantastic and I would highly recommend a visit.

  • 3/5 Celeste B. 1 year ago on Google
We went for the the beautiful view, but the bar area with the really beautiful view was closed, probably due to the overcast sky. They give you a table for a limited time, it seemed to be 2.5hours and I feel that any paying customer shouldn't be rushed. It's pricey for Bali, 150 000k/$10 per cocktail.

  • 5/5 Lorenz L. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect for sunset hours. Amazing sunset view to enjoy dinner with the family or your fiancé. Making a reservation a few days beforehand is recommended, especially if visiting over the weekend. Incredible view and even more incredible food - interesting fusion between Latin and Japanese kitchen but it works extremely well! They also have their own separate vegetarian menu. I can really recommend the sashimi taco.

Location is top and sundown is very beautiful. Lots of couples around trying to inhale romantic moment,... but feels like Instagram spot shared with too many. Food was creative but in its preparation on average and loveless. For the money you spend, there are better places in Ubud. Disappointed. The bar has good drinks and the service is fast, but lacks understanding English. The restaurant has room to improve, the place is a nice spot and provides great views to the valley embedding the Four Seasons and other Villas.

  • 5/5 samyak s. 1 year ago on Google
The spare ribs and Kurumaebi rolls were fantastic. Good cocktail options. Service was amazing. It started raining so they accommodated us in one of their private dining areas. The restaurant overlooks a gorge and has a sweet view of the rice fields.

  • 4/5 Giovanni 10 months ago on Google
Amazing location, the counter bar at the very end is overlooking the gorge with river on the bottom where you can see people rafting. The food quality is good, and the cocktails are enjoyable, the overall experience is great. Perfect for sunset, they often host live music

Placing a review after several visits to Sayan House. Food is expensive and portions are a bit small, still very tasty though! Make sense for price considering the location. I do want to commend their staff for making the effort to make sure our Truffle fries were exactly how we wanted it because the past 3 times we went, the fries were cold. Ambiance is great, and cocktails are really good too! Just make sure to book in advance if you want to catch the sunset.

  • 5/5 s c. 11 months ago on Google
We visited Sayan House restaurant and it had a stunning view. We had to make a reservation a few days in advance to catch the sunset. It's one of the best restaurants in Ubud with high-quality dishes, although it is a bit pricey. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience.

  • 4/5 Mike H. 10 months ago on Google
Arrived around 430 for front row sunset seat, left around 630 and the place was packed. Tasty food and good drinks. If that’s your thing you might rate 5!.

Nice place with a good spot to enjoy the sunset and evening in ubud. Really love the ambience here. A bit pricey i could say, and for the menu maybe you can add some more choices to the menu. I just prefer the sushi menu from before the covid, circa 2019. One thing to note for sure, you should reserve first or else your time will be limited here.

  • 4/5 Leen 1 year ago on Google
Amazing view. I would recommend you book ahead of time especially if you’re going to go in the evening for dinner. I would also recommend going before the sunset so you can see the amazing view. The food portions are not large and it’s not the best value for money but I would go again just for the view. I ordered the tacos they were ok. The salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes and miso was good. We ordered the soup with mushrooms which I would not recommend it was very average and a bit egg-y

  • 4/5 Dylan H. 6 months ago on Google
For dinner I recommend making a reservation before For heading over. We didn't have a reservation and they couldn't seat us at a proper table, but we were able to eat at the bar area. The braised ribs were excellent, though they in my opinion lacked spice. The eel sushi was also quite good, and seemed to be a good value for the price.

We were here for food so if you are looking for review on room quality please refer to comments from other contributors. A great view overlooking rice terrace. Food is decent. Arrive early if you want to catch sunset. We would come back next time visiting Ubud.

The food here was absolutely amazing. This was the best culinary experience we have had, ever. The view at sunset is phenomenal. I booked for 6 pm in October and there is a great area to look at.

We came here as a last minute decision. We were 5 people and initially seated at a bar, but a gentleman at the bar noticed there was free space on the other side of a table and suggested we moved there which was very much appreciated. On top of that he served us with great humor and a smile and the food was very taste. Especially the chimichurry that was served with the steak was fantastic. Also, the atmosphere and decorations are very pretty.

First start with the location: awesome view from the hills and sunset. We ordered cocktails starters and main course. The cocktails were fresh, fruity and adventurous. The starters ceviche: a dream. Main course salmon and bonito prown noodles. Just yummy 😋😋😋😋. Service five stars. When you enter all the kitchen greets you. Music relaxing reggae.

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful dinner. What pleased me most was the exceptional service; from the first second, we were enveloped in attention and care. The food and the sunset view were also top-notch. I highly recommend this place, a perfect 10 out of 10❤️

One of Ubuds better restaurants where the Latin American inspired food is just one part of the overall experience. Sayan House is a joy to visit, from the cool trendy music to the sensational views over the valley to sunset drinks! Enjoy a glass of bubbles and a few nibbles as you gaze across Four Seasons Ubud to the flowing Ayung River or take a seat and fall in love with a beautiful restaurant. Book well in advance.....Enjoy
