This hotel is located in Ubud surrounded by amazing restaurants and the ubud market is outside which is great. The issue with this hotel is that while we were staying here, our room was located near the rice fields, where we heard a snake hiss. They confirmed taht they found the snake. The next day, before sleeping around 12am, we heard major noises in the ceiling. It sounded like a large lizard with sharp claws as we heard the nails scratching as it rain from one corner to the other. This continued for 4 hours in the night. This was a put off to this hotel. The breakfast I would rate it 1/5. Knowing that the hotel is in a forest, the food is left open with no coverings (except fruit and cereal) but the rest is open so insects will fly onto the food. I wouldn’t suggest eating at this place. Overall even thou the staff were nice and helpful, the overall stay was stressful and not easy. I would think twice before booking again.

I recently had a very unsatisfactory encounter with Plataran Ubud, which I feel obliged to share with fellow travelers. Unfortunately, my intended stay at this hotel ended up being a source of significant disappointment and stress due to unforeseen circumstances and the hotel's subsequent response. My trip had to be cancelled due to an unexpected emergency. Although I fully understand that many establishments operate under a strict cancellation policy, I was hopeful that the hotel management would display some level of empathy and understanding given the extraordinary nature of my situation. I was not seeking to exploit the system, but merely looking for some flexibility in a difficult time. However, when I reached out to their customer service to explain the situation and request a partial refund, my plea was met with a rigid adherence to their cancellation policy with no consideration for the special circumstances. Despite my attempts to reason with them and provide necessary documentation, I was met with an unwavering 'no'. This lack of compassion and flexibility during a time of distress was deeply disheartening. While I understand that businesses need to protect their interests, it is equally important to demonstrate some level of understanding and humanity, especially in the hospitality industry where customer experience is paramount. I'm sharing this experience to inform future guests of the inflexible policies and the potential challenges they might face.

We have been here for a Christmas dinner and are more than disappointed. The amusé bouche and appetizer were very tiny and took long to be served. The water was served only for one person and then the waiter left the table without serving the others. For main course we ordered duck and salmon, which arrived cold. We told the waiter that 3 of 4 meals were cold and he said the duck is fresh (which means that he knew that the salmon wasn’t) and took the plates back to the kitchen. After 5 minutes the meals came back, but not a freshly cooked, but warmed up and already tasted. They even exchanged the two meals of me and my friend, so I was now eating off my friend‘s plate… this was really the tip of the iceberg for me. For the dessert there was Christmas pudding with ice cream but no ice cream was served. On the question about the ice cream the waiter told us that they decided to serve without ice cream… fair enough then. Horrible service for prices like in European countries… 350K per person for the food and over 700K for a bottle of sparkling wine from Bali.

What a wonderful oasis in the centre of Ubud. You wouldn't know the city surrounds you. The rooms have a view towards rice fields and an infinity pool. The rooms are modern, emaculatly clean and well equipped. If your looking for 5* quality and service on a budget... than look no further. The fitness area is modern and looks out over ricefields as well. Walking distance from all the major attractions. Check out Siam Sally for a great meal too!

Absolutely loved it here. Location is perfect, you're literally on the main strip of all the amazing bars and restaurants. The staff are the most kindest and warmest people. The room was beautiful and service we received was amazing. We went to Bali for my friend's birthday and we stayed in 3 different Plataran's and I have to say Ubud Plataran was my favourite and I can't wait to come back and stay here again. They can't do enough for you, they want to know how your day was when you get back from excursions, they're interested in talking and getting to know you and I could literally not fault this hotel at all. I am shocked this isn't a 5* hotel because the service was 5* and beyond. Everything about this hotel is prideful. I felt sad when I was leaving and I cannot recommend it enough. If you're staying in Ubud then this is the hotel you want to stay at. Clean, spacious, beautiful rooms. ************

One of the warmest and welcoming hotel I have ever visited before. Staffs is definitely the IT factor, those who are looking for Bali hospitality, this is for you. Surrounded by green lush combined with paddy field blended architect and excellent warmth from the people, it’s a true distraction from bustling and loud metropolitan. Keep it up 👍

Set back just a few hundred metres from the busy congested main road in Central ubud, taking a few steps into the Plataran is a transportive experience- natural corridors of verdant lush vegetation, soothing trickles of a fountain, and the gentle chirping of wildlife give way to a charming rice paddyfield and the magnificient hotel interior. The staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming (thanks particularly to Oka!) and extremely attentive. The Plataran also prioritises a sustainable and environmentally friendly mission, an ethos which you can really tell has been thoughtfully woven into every fine detail- from the reusable bottles, to the bikes for hire, to the skin care/washing products provided in the rooms- this attention and focus really enhanced our stay and overall experience. Many thanks once again

Best service, food, ambience, room and anything else that you can think of. Employees are super kind, and the rooms are pleasant. Have stayed here more than once with my family and always had a pleasant stay. Very relaxing and their space is superb to walk around at. Looking forward to come back! Keep up the great work.

Lovely hotel. Near to the main road of Ubud where many cafes and restaurants are located, but once inside you are surrounded by padi fields and lush greenery leaving you feeling relax and fresh. Staff are all very friendly and accomadating. But the breakfast needs a bit of improvement

A perfect memorable and private Experience for Our Anniversary For our 3 days 2 nights stay period at Plataran Ubud Hotel & Spa, we have nothing else to say apart from being amazed by the helpful kindness of the staff, the privacy it provided , and the amazing Facility it holds. Our room was so beautifully spacious, with the view to the pool, and the rice field. The amenities were so complete and showed their commitment and concern for sustainability. During our stay, we tried various activities, such as Spa, Yoga and biking around Ubud. The hotel also has more list of activities to do- for sure will try it again on our next visit. We love its tranquillity, peaceful environment, and the way it is built following the original contour of the landscape. Food at the View Restaurant also was an amazing culinary experience. Thank you Plataran Ubud Hotel and Spa. we will keep this memorable experience close to our hearts and hopefully will be back someday.

The Plataran hotel is evidence that the best of Bali is the Balinese people. I have come to Bali countless times and have stayed in all sorts of accomodation, this hotel stands out for 2 reasons: 1. Their lovely encounter activities which make them particularly great for families; 2. Their staff is beyond attentive and lovely, they go above and beyond even for Bali style, they always have a smile on their face and are a pleasure to be around. Highly recommend!

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. I wish the pictures the hotel had online did better justice to the awesomeness of this place. One of the best boutique hotels I’ve been to. Amazing service, quiet rooms that are spacious and comfortable, very eco friendly, nice breakfast buffet. Immaculate grounds that are great to roam around. Loads of things to do … I highly recommend signing up for the blessing. It is extremely well done and super authentic (no hokey doing this for the tourists feeling). And 2 pools and afternoon tea, they arrange for awesome drivers … the list goes on and on. Do not second guess yourself, come here and have an awesome stay. 💯 recommended!

Worth the price. Book now and don't hesitate. Hotel location is Central and strategic. Their unique property honors and preserves a replica of traditional Bali with added modern amenities. An Indonesian-owned hotel company managed by seasoned experts that know how to showcase the local area for foreign tourists.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this remarkable eco-friendly hotel, and I have to say it was such a breath of fresh air (with the hotel’s open air concept, I also mean it literally!) The hotel's dedication to sustainability truly stood out, as they opted for a limited room approach, allowing for the preservation of rice fields and wildlife. I believe there are only 50 or so rooms, so walking around the hotel grounds felt spacious and private. The cleanliness of the room was also impeccable, showcasing their commitment to both guest comfort and environmental responsibility. The staff's friendliness was the icing on the cake—each interaction left me feeling welcomed and valued. A standout was the hotel cleaning manager, Theo (or Tio?), whose kindness and helpfulness made a lasting impression. From assisting us in finding the location of the complimentary onsite cooking class to going above and beyond by helping with our baggage on checkout day, Theo's exceptional service really impressed us. In a world where sustainability and genuine care for guests often take a back seat, this hotel shines bright, seamlessly blending eco-friendliness with kind hospitality. I am grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a heartfelt stay amidst nature's beauty.

One of the most memorable places I have ever experienced with an open and spacious area and limited rooms Plataran offers a calm and relaxing ambiance. The hospitality of the crews from Yumas and Gusti to All of The FO Teams was outstanding. One of my complaints would be the connecting door at room 1205 needs a better seal I can peek at the room next door between the gap, and the sound insulation also needs to be added as any sounds coming from the connected room can be heard clearly. Overall a pleasing experience.

Plataran Ubud is not just a place, but an experience. The hotel is not just one building, but is a cluster of smaller buildings on a large compound, which provides many photo opportunities. There were plenty of free guest activities available, which my husband and I loved. The staff were all so kind and friendly. We had a memorable stay in Bali thanks to Plataran.

Superb place in Ubud, not the most central but good walking distance (not easy if bringing a toddler around due to the poor walking paths in Ubud town). Well trained staff, wonderful resort, clean, etc etc.... definitely worth the money spent. Oh, a special shout out goes out to Gusti, always pleasant, helpful and accommodating

Booked 3 nights stay Plataran Ubud, however we were offered to stay in Plataran Canggu on the first night which was convenient for us since we arrived late in the evening in Bali. We were given the Founder's room in Canggu and got upgraded to suite in Ubud. The staffs were all pleasant and helpful. The Balinese massage in Padma Spa were perfect.

Plataran is a lovely hotel. The staff and management are amazing and the location is perfect in Ubud. Conveniently located to the food, shopping, Yoga Barn (there’s even a short cut). I stayed for one week and chose for location and the gym. I highly recommend the deluxe room over the superior. Great place to stay in Ubud!

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The hotel is off the main street, so it's not noisy. I had a great time, rain or shine. The hotel programs are all great. There is also a famous yoga training center nearby. Every moment was an amazing moment. Next time I go back to Bali, I plan to stay at Plataran again. Best hotel. + Don't go to the small currency exchange right next to the hotel like the review below says. They take wads of bills and scam you while you're exchanging. Luckily, I knew ahead of time and asked for my money back. The other money changers called the police and the hotel staff were concerned and reassured us. The people of Ubud are all good people, but that money changer is a very bad place.

Some construction going (no noise) on at the resort that did not affect us at all, but it seems more activities will be available in the future. Staff was very friendly and always helpful. Free coffee and snacks are served at 4pm which is nice. Many evenings live bands playing in the lobby, we enjoyed them a lot. Haven't tried breakfast or any of the activities offered by the resort.

Top service and friendliness from all the staff. We enjoyed the free activities hosted by the staff (morning walk led by Fachri, meeting with the God with Shinta). Good shuttle bus service from Ubud Central back to hotel when the legs were really tired too. Free choc and cookies Sent to the room every evening. Free afternoon snacks in the restaurant every afternoon. 5 star

We stayed at one of their beautiful suites and absolutely loved it! We got to join some of their activities during the stay and had so much fun! Highly recommend doing the cooking class and learning about their offerings and traditions! It’s such a beautiful place, the staff was so kind and accommodating and the location couldn’t be better! We’re definitely coming back!

In my opinion, the concept of welcoming guests is the most important factor of making a great first impression. The entrance is unique, not like any other hotel which greets customer with fancy lobby, Plataran gives you a traditional bar's impression as an entrance. The staffers had given us a traditional shortcakes and a ginger drink, which is a fresher! Plataran offered the most exquisite experience I ever had in most of my travels. Big fan for their hospitality, facilities (the movie night was awesome!), especially the staffs initiative for family games. Definitely great. Except for the bathtub, which was leaked a little, all in all, the facilities are heavenly good. Thank you, Plataran, for the amazing experience!

We spent three nights at the Plataran in Ubud and absolutely loved it. The hotel is in central Ubud which means you can walk everywhere. It is right on the main street of Ubud where there are restaurants and shops so close BUT as soon as you enter the foyer the Plataran is serene and beautiful. The gardens are amazing and our room was perfect. Very large and comfortable, the shower was the best!! the rooms are extremely well maintained and clean and the complimentary products were five star. We used the pool and the gym plus ate ate the restaurant every night. We went to the spa for massages and the view from the spa was breathtaking. The staff of the Plataran are warm and welcoming and couldn't have been more accommodating and caring. We loved the night time biscuits and chocolates and the breakfasts were delicious!! Absolutely everything was perfect, thank you so much. It was the most perfect little break. Kathryn and Ian x

A highly recommended Hotel despite a somewhat nondescript frontage along the main road of Ubud town center. But beyond the check in lobby, through its "Green Tunnel of Serenity", the place opens up to a property that pleases the senses of a resort befitting its Ubud locale. Green curated padi fields, infinity pools and even a open yoga area beside the padi fields fill ur senses. There is also an authentic Local Holy Temple with an unground spring within its grounds too. In our 4 days stay we had 2 amazing Morning Walks ( complimentary too) ...a Village Street Walk & the renowned Campuran Ridge Walk were informative & amazing ... esp with a good guide like Pak Wayan. We had a beautiful room on the occassion of our wedding anniversay and am grateful for the special touches the hotel put to make our stay so pleasent. Oh the bed was firm and comfy ...we love it too. Staff service 5stars Rated !!! Friendly Responsive & Efficient.

Very amazing place! The resort has all the possible confort and the atmosphere is really lovely. There was a great attention to details. The staff was really available and friendly. Puspa at reception was really kind and helpful providing lot of infos. All the resort, the garden and the pools were really clean! Our stay was perfect!

Service is good. Their staff really does a good job. But I did not like these things: 1) i got Ill from air conditioner despite I tried to find a regime when it does not give that much wind 2) there is no home sleepers from cotton and the floor is very cold 3) periodically tap water comes black I also did not like that every time staff ask u something or bring u something, they apologize. I do not understand why they need to say sorry instead of "hi".

Our first time in Ubud and The Plataran Resort has made our stay AMAZING. The facilities, the grounds and the rooms are fantastic! Beyond that, the staff were the best accomodation staff I have every come across. Their care, friendliness, willingness to help and their love for their home town of Ubud is unbelievable. We will definitely be back and when staying in Bali by the beach, we will be staying at their Changgu facility. Thank you!

We stayed at the Plataran for 3 nights. It was a fantastic experience. We had a ground floor room, conveniently located close to The View Restaurant. Upon check in, we received a welcome drink and cake. They also explained all the great activities they offered and promotions they had. They really went above and beyond in terms of service. Also the activities they had were really fun! The afternoon tea every day is a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved my stay in Plataran ubud, so central to everything, so peaceful, private, walking distance to just about everything you need. The room was super clean at all times. The service and staff, there are no words that can describe them, so gentle and polite, made my stay more memorable!!! I’m raw vegan, they went out of their way to way to accommodate for me. When you needed anything done, or asked for help, they were there in a flash. Their gym, and swimming pool always clean, and good condition. I would like to thank everyone who works there for making my short stay so memorable! I will definitely stay there again next trip to Ubud. Thoroughly recommend this hidden treasure. 🙏🙏🙏
