Very authentic Indian Food. I highly recommend this place. A hidden jewel away from the crowd in Ubud.

Mutton curry was excellent kerela style, it is cheaper compared to other Indian restaurants..

The good chef must have had the night off. I went here because it was the highest rated Indian restaurant in Ubud but was disappointed. The samosas were more dough than filling. And no chutney or tamarind sauce. Just a yoghurt sauce. And the chicken was so salty it was almost inedible. The chai was good so I give it two stars instead of one.

Amazing food. Mix veg curry and chapathi were really delicious. Prices were very reasonable compared to other Indian restaurants in the neighborhood. Service was little slow but that was compensated with the delicious food :)

Had high expectations with the ratings here but was utterly disappointed. felt like the chef tried to combine kerala and Balinese cuisine but it was terrible. Paratha was uncooked and everything was too tangy. Only positive was the dhal which was pretty alright.

Wonderful "home-cooked" syle food at VERY affordable prices. I was missing spices in Balinese cuisine and they didnt disappoint with delicious fresh ingredients prepared in Kerala fashion. 5 stars will be back.

Dapur Malabar is a hidden gem in Ubud with authentic Indian food! Not an other overpriced tourist trap. Here you will find the real taste of India both veg and non-veg. I highly recommend to eat one of the curry with their ghee roti and a chai tea!

Had a worst experience here not because of the food but because of that owner way of speaking about india.. I think he forgot that he is also from india.. bro indian people won't expect anything for free in india and I don't think no one cares for 1.50rs if anyone ask for refilling the bottle that's the reason they won't ask for money and that doesn't mean the other person unable to afford that 1.50rs or 20rs for bottle.. refilling the water bottle means they not using plastic multiple times.. if you want to be commercial you can say to customer that they need to pay the money for refilling but you need to comment about Indians as they expect everything for free. I don't think u served free food for anyone, everyone is paying bill even Indians.. we have to respect our mother land... don't disrespect the Indians when you are trying to impress other country people... Not every customer comes to your restaurant for your food but some are coming just because that's a indian restaurant

I give this place a 5+! Very good food! We had been eating Balinese food for 4 days so we wanted something else... maybe something with a bit more spice in it. We ordered the Meal packs. It includes a great selection of Indian food. Good portions, good price and the food was absolutely delicious! If you have a chance pay a visit to this small warung in a small street close to Ubud art market.

We had the samosas (very crunchy/filling flavourless), lentil Dahl (again incredibly bland), pumpkin soup (ok as I asked for it to be spicy, but distinctly average) we had the potato and spinach dish which came as literally boiled potatoes in a watery green soup - nothing like saag aloo) and poppadums (average). The bill only came to 100k for all this but we were very disappointed with the blandness of the food. I feel even with my limited knowledge of how to cook Indian food, I still could have cooked these simple dishes with 100% more flavour. Seasoning is essential! I would never give 1 star unless something was inedible but I can't give more than two.

Holy WOW! Cute little (5 tables) restaurant! Had two of the cold ginger drinks, and ordered the popadom, veg curry and appam (fermented coconut pancakes similar to roti yet WAY different) with chickpea curry! Food did take awhile to come out so we ordered a large Bintang., when the food came everything was so fresh and different then anything we’ve had before, blew us out of the water. Definitely a must have in Ubud!!!!
