We were greeted well when we arrived and the gentleman sat us down. And than one woman came to take our order. She just stood there without saying anything, and right when we found something we like, she said she don’t have that item. and no matter what dishes we picked was all out. I was super frustrated because she could’ve said that the first time when we asked for the first order. But no. and I happily asked her, tell me what’s available in the menu and I’ll order something from there. There were 10 dishes to pick from 5 pages menu. Anyway we picked chicken lollipops, 65 with chicken. Biryani goat. And one curry. 65 and lollipop was good. But I’ll tell you this, it was not 65 or lollipop, it was completely different flavor but it was good. But biryani was disaster, goat meat was boiled separately and put it in rice for little. Didn’t have raita so I asked, does it comes with raita, the woman said no, we have to order it on the side with attitude. Total waste. And apparently rice also doesn’t come with entree. Altogether, semi foods were good but service was disastrous.

This was the WORST Indian restaurant. Guys please don't visit this restaurant, it I'd awful. The food was disgusting, stale and so smelly. We ordered veg raita which felt five days old, stinking and looked like puke and the dal makhni was cooked in TOMATO KETCHUP?! and the colour of every dish was so off as well. Furthermore, the entire restaurant were covered in lizards and when asked to do something about it, they did not even care. I made a big mistake going here. I feel like I'm gonna end up in the hospital tomorrow, my family and me, everyone's stomach is hurting so bad. I really hope this restaurant shuts because it had ruined our entire day. I am requesting all of you for your own good, PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. 🙏🙏

Probably the only restaurant serving Indian food around Ubud. This is an Indian restaurant maintained completely by local people, that was a bit of a shock for me, but still atleast we r getting Indian food. The ambience is pretty nice and well decorated. They have Hindi sings playing in the background and hindu gods been kept at the billing table. We started off with Chicken Hot n Sour Soup, which was pretty decent but couple have been a bit more spicy. Chicken Hydrabadi was served with boiled egg on top and tasted good. Dal Fry Tadka was the best. Naan was good but Lacha paratha was a big disappointment. The pricing is moderate and the staff is very friendly.

Tried Dal khichdi, mango juice, samosa and honey chilli potato. Except for mango juice, everything was good and better than The Queens of India restaurant.

If I could give zero stars , I would. This was the worst resto & service one could find in Ubud. Waited for 45+ minutes only to be served the lamest, unflavourful & visually appalling South Indian cuisine, all for a really high price too. There are several great other Indians restos around, avoid this one.

Surprise #1, no rice included. Surprise #2, no question if I wanted rice. Surprise #3, when I got the bill, rice was 52IDR because the normal rice was out. This, I was apparently supposed to know myself when the waitor mumbled something about basmati when I asked for steamed rice. Surprise #4, zero willingness to try to understand my frustration. Oh, and the food wasnt even good, the paratha was burned. AVOID!

Worst restaurant experience we had in Ubud. The service is terrible (I work as a waiter in a restaurant and would never have such a behavior as I received) , is very expansive for the ambience and food compared to other Indian restaurants , and rice is not included in the dishes (and a simple basmati rice costs 52k) there should be a "local rice" for 18k which "casually" was finished. if you want to eat good Indian food walk 10 minutes more and get to "Pesona" restaurant, for the same price delicious food and amazing ambience and service.

Highly recommended NOT to visit this place. Got some takeaway which was not enough at all but they charge a lot. The naans were so hard n burnt. N the curry was not indian type at all.

Maybe I went on an off day? Maybe the chef took a day off and the busboy was cooking? By far the worst Indian food I’ve had in the entire world. The aloo gobi came in a watery vinegar sauce? The chicken curry had only four bites of chicken and was in a runny sauce almost like a watered down soup. It wasn’t just the flavor that was completely off but the texture and consistency of the dishes that was off as well. Between how bad and expensive it was, i thought it was a prank. I guess i still might have been one? Keep in mind when you order rice, after all the taxes and fees, it comes out to almost $5 USD, which has got to be the most expensive bowl of rice on planet earth. Also comical.

They use exactly the same curry, in May case we ordered dum aloo and egg curry. Food extremely salty. Out of group of 12, two people never got their starter. This place is worth zero star😡

This hotel from outside doesn't look attractive , but inside ain't that bad. Food is average, biryani is okay, butter naan has no butter, chicken tikka I liked though. Hygiene is a big question. Our plate was dirty, then we asked to change. The staff simply wiped the same plate n gave. Pickles look fermented n saunf (mouth freshener) always soggy. Staffs are good like in general Balinese are smiling n courteous. This hotel definitely needs a makeover and a hygiene policy. In these days customers cannot be fooled with. All the best 👍

Pathetic food ...pathetic ambience... they don't even know the ABC of Indian food. Shame they call themselvees servering the best Indian food in Bali. we ordered tasted one bite n didn't even feel like taking the second bite. Paid n came out...imagine the quality n taste of food.

Absolutely disgusting service. I ordered food and they didn’t give roti for 40 mins. ( staff don’t remember the order) They served roti on all other tables. Please do not visit here. You will definitely find better restaurants than this. Owner have left restaurant for staff to run, they don’t understand English, if you are travelling from India, please make sure with your agent, not to book this place. DO NOT VISIT.

Went when it was quiet. Waitresses chatting to each other. Waited 10 minutes for them to take my order. Looked their way and closed the menu. But they continued to chat. Gave up and told them I was leaving. Don't supposed it bothered them. More time to chat. Raging .

After reading the reviews of this restaurant and noticing that nobody was eating there at the height of lunch hour. I decided to eat there all the same I ordered the chicken curry and I got sick as a dog which is not surprising in that I probably ate a dog with that meal. When I asked for ice with my water they didn't have it, that was bottled water. While wait staff wasn't overly confident they were not bad. My advice is if you want Indian food go someplace else, the food here was below average and as I write this I am sitting on the toilet.

This is the worst food i have eaten in recent years anywhere in the world. Hara bhara kabab is only Green coloured potato patty. I can't describe other food without puking. This place should shut down ASAP so that Indian tourists don't fall for this trap.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. Staff have no motivation to work and their long faces make you feel unwanted and unwelcome, looks like they are doing their job on very low incentives. overpriced and they don’t even serve simple salad or pickle with any fish. No efforts in presentation, they just bang the dish on your table. Owner is absent, which explains no discipline around the place.

Well we 26 of us had a good Indian Food. Good ambience. Above all the beautiful lady Soniya the owner who is born bought up in Bali but original from Ludhiana Punjab, her hospitality was very good. Overall a visit for Indian taste food lovers, this can be considered, but they have limited vegetarian varieties. Wished they had served us Papad which was very much missing

Visited Sitara for lunch on our last day of our 2 week Bali holiday. Exceptional customer service, the host Ms Sonia Kaur personally paid attention was warm, friendly and welcoming. Staff courteous, good food, good ambience. When you are longing for Indian food Sitara is the place to go for good Indian food. We understand the difficulties in offering authentic Indian food in a foreign country and we appreciate the efforts Sitara is making to provide satisfying experiences. The biggest draw point is Ms.kaur and her genuine desire to make customer feel comfortable and served the best. Highly recommend Sitara to every visitor to Ubud Bali for an authentic satisfying experience.

This place can be better with some good music playing.. food was very average.. staff was prompt and quick with order but it took them forever to get me onions and green chillies I had to ask two times and by the time it came I was almost done with my meal.

Waaaaaay too overpriced!! Half it and I’d still be disappointed. Asked for a mild tikka masala, my face has melted off, so badly that no one even offered a massage as I walked past all the parlours. Drinks are twice as much as anywhere else!! Like over £1 for a 250ml sprite, thought I was at Wembley for a moment. The service was terrible, too busy chatting amongst themselves, spent a few minutes trying to grab their attention, they finally clicked as I got out of my chair to head to the desk. The appetisers and mains all arrived at once, though standard for SE Asia. Rice was tepid, naan bread was dead and chewy, all in all, wish I’d stayed in my hotel room and had a pot noodle! Very very disappointed. Actually the more I think about it as writing this, the more I am absolutely outraged. Do yourself a favour and avoid this dive.

As soon as we reached there, the waiter told us that there's no paneer. So we had to order chole with naan. The menu is the same from many years, outdated as given in google photos. Spring roll was good.

There were only 3 curries available, it didnt even come with rice but was 5$ extra. Service was not sorry about it, that's how it is. Restaurant was completely empty, but still i was craving indian food, should hv been a warning. Don't go there....it's not worth it.

Amazing fresh Indian food! I found both this and The Golden Saffron Restaurant good and it is really hard to choose one. But if you are in Ubud Sitara Indian restaurant would be the best. Good choice of veg and non veg food. I must make a mention of the raw mango pickles and fresh mint chutney, they reminded me of home! They have a couple of other restaurants too in other parts of Bali. They are now able to cater to number of Indian tourists increasing with each passing year.

Sitara is a nice Indian Restaurant in Bali run by Indian woman. They have two outlets, we visited the Ubud one for lunch. After a week long trip of managing Indonesian vegetarian food, it was great to taste authentic Indian veg items. We visited for lunch in a group of 15+ We started with orange juice, followed by tomato soup, which I had twice as it was super good. Followed by typical Indian dishes- butter naan, jeera rice, malai kofta, daal and so on. We feasted on it to our satisfaction and ended with orange coloured kulfi for desert. Sitara can home deliver your food to your home/hotel via food delivery apps like Gojek or Grab Food. Very convenient. You don't have to spend on traveling and order from the comfort of your hotel room. Buffet lunch/dinner can be arranged if there're 25+ pax. They were NOT serving tender coconut water. Reservation is recommended for groups larger than 5. Restaurant can seat about 100 pax I am guessing.

It is the best restaurant in Ubud in and around Sacred Monkey forest (just 200 mera away) to eat authentic indian food and that too at a reasonable price. A highly recommended place for indian tourists to have indian food the way it should taste. Also, they don't charge extra if you pay with the credit or debit cards.

They ask “want rice with that” and then charge nearly 60k for a bowl of basmati rice. That’s on top of 100k for a small bowl of tikka masala chicken. No lunch specials, everything is overpriced. Simple masala tea is 25k. Food quality is ok. Management should treat customers better and more people would come. Ripping people off does not encourage repeat business....charge me 60k for rice I will not come again. Charge decent prices and I would eat here every week. Being greedy is not good for business

We ordered ginger tea , since it's Indian restaurant we expected indian Ginger tea but they served Indonesian Ginger tea with 5 times extra cost. We didn't take single sip and immediately paid the bill and left. Owner and head cook was there at the time , no one bothered to ask as what is the issue or any feedback on tea. Typical Indian business mentality, let's f*ck the customer.

This is definitely the worst Indian food I have ever had. I love Indian food and typically eat Indian food at least once during any trip I go on all over the world and am rarely disappointed... but this was just awful. The flavors were really off. They have the most expensive rice I’ve ever seen in all my travels and this place is far from luxurious to be charging prices like that. Staff is rude, confrontational, and not helpful. Please do not waste your time and money going here. I read some of the good reviews on here and they look seriously fake like the staff wrote them.

The food is too bad and vegetarian foods are barely cooked .( which I tried). They are taking a lot of time to get the food. And the menu they have is useless most of the items are unavailable
