Absolutely stunningly beautiful palace that you must visit when you come to Ubud. There is no entry fee. I would recommend going early or later in the day to avoid the crowds. It can take a little while to get good photos here when it is crowded. The Balinese architecture style is strongly represented, and the stately sculptures and structures are great backdrops for photos, or make unique subjects for the avid photographer. We spent about 45 minutes wandering around the palace grounds, which is plenty of time to see everything.

Small place.. open for all and no tickets. Frankly speaking there’s nothing much to see other than few closed doors.. it will hardly take 3-4 minutes to take a full tour of the place. Located at Center of market, so if you’ve got some free time take a walk at this place. Nothing special. But well maintained place. They do have Balinese dance show here during weekends. Inquire at the entrance.

You can visit this one during the day very quickly if you are on a hurry. It’s small and the entry is free! Oh! You can watch one of the night performances (100k for 1.5 hour show) which may be too long but it was a fun thing to do - I recommend! They happen every night at 19:30 and you can get a ticket on the door! Get there at least 30’ early to get a good seat!

I walked here on a Wednesday evening in mid-December 2022. I came here for the dance performances they have every night at 7:30PM. I'd recommend getting there at 7PM to get a good seat. It was a very interesting dance performances. The sheet of paper explaining what was happening in English really helped since the entire narration was not in English. All the costumes and the makeup was very interested to see. To watch the dance performances, you have to pay 100,000Rp in cash at the door. Make sure you catch it if you're in Ubud. I didn't see the palace itself though.

Beautiful like all the temples and architect in Bali. And best of all it is free. I believe they offer tours and may have events or ceremonies here periodically if you want to learn more of the history. But just to stop and appreciate doesn't cost a thing.

It's just opposite to the ubud art market and next to it is the Saraswati Temple. There is no admission fee to Ubud Palace. The building structure is beautiful and the area is well maintained. There is a traditional music performance during the day. You can also purchase a ticket for the traditional dance performance at night.

Good place with a nice Balinese architecture. You can enter this place free to wandering around the palace and take pics. But if you want to watch the performance you need to pay for it. There's few of door we couldn't enter. Over all this place is a good place to go in Ubud.

Very beautiful palace in central Ubud. It's still occupied but some places are open to public. In the evening there are performances of traditional dances. We enjoyed it thoroughly

Nice to pop in and see if in the area, though scrap the vehicles and walk as the streets surrounding are impossible. Free entry. Quite a bit is inaccessible but still nice views all the same. Probably wouldn’t go out my way to go as there are better temples to see and bigger, but it’s free so worth it if close by. They do shows in the evening I believe but didn’t go ourselves.

Historically rich Balinese temple in the downtown of Ubud. Without further explanation it already shows how intricate and well-thought the palace was built. So full of culture and great traditional art. The complex is quite spacious with various corners to take pictures, or simply admire them from distance. And the great news is it's free entrance! Better to visit during weekdays as it could be quite crowded during weekend! No need tour guide as this mesmerizing place speaks for itself...

The Ubud Palace, officially Puri Saren Agung, is a historical building complex situated in Ubud, Gianyar Regency of Bali, Indonesia. The palace was the official residence of the royal family of Ubud. It was on his travels that Rsi Markaneya received a divine revelation that in Bali he was to bury five precious metals on a mountain slope where the mother temple of Besakih now stands to day.

Beautiful temple located at Ubud. The palace is known as Puri Saren Palace. There is no entrance fee. It gives a quick glimpse of Balinese art and architecture. The palace is well maintained and is right across the main market. They perform dance shows at 7pm.

Nice little palace, well preserved. Entrance is free. Lots of tourists. Traffic is heavy so you may have to park farther away. Plenty of restaurants and businesses outside the palace grounds to get some rest and refresh yourself after being in the heat.

For the palace itself it's a brief visit. Highly recommend to see the dance shows set in the courtyard, the Ramayana story was very entertaining. Get there 30 mins before the show starts to get good seats

Nice place, worth a visit. Many photo opportunities. The architecture is slightly better and more premium compared to most temples. Many of the doorways, arches and ceilings have golden paint which makes for good photos. Entry is completely free, which is very positive. The flip side is there are no signs, booklets or pamphlets with the stories or legends about the place which is lost opportunity. This place has much potential to make it interesting for visitors - hopefully it will be realised in future years.

In the heart of Ubud, this palace has multiple entrances. The front door is right next to a gelato place and is a prime shuttle bus stop/ taxi stop. The entry is free, and the palace has some beautiful picture spots, iconic traditional Balinese architecture with the large archways and indoor sitting area. Also, there are dance performances every evening, apparently for 100k for 2 people. It is walking distance from the Saraswati temple, and the Ubud Market and boasts of a lively place drawing crowds.

Free to enter and you don't need to worry about covering shoulders and knees. The Balinese architecture is great. Not all areas are accessible but that doesn't stop some people that are determined to get their Instagram photos.

We've always enjoyed seeing cultural places in various countries. This was a tad disappointing because literally we were just not seeing anything beyond the gardens. None of the buildings were accessible. So we were not also able to see any artifacts. There were also other parts of the grounds that aren't accessible. Due to that, we have very limited grounds to cover and see. There were local tour guides whom if you're not engaged to aren't friendly and rather inconsiderate. So far, this was the most disappointing visit for me amongst the many ancient palaces or historical sites that I've visited.

It a busy intersection full of tourists and restaurants. We went to see the royal dance which was really enchanting for the first 15 minutes but can get a tad bit monotonous. But the costumes and the music was so great and it’s great to support the arts in another non western country! I went and would recommend it 100%. Get there early to secure a primo spot.

It’s beautiful but doesn’t take long to visit as many areas are off-limits to tourists. Definitely worth 20-30 minutes of your time. Or come back in the evening for a Legong dance show. 😌

(Translated by Google) I stayed in Ubud for two nights (Komaneka at Rasa Sayang), so I visited the royal palace after sightseeing in Rice Terrace, Lake Patour, etc. I was impressed by the size and splendor of the finely carved stone carving entrance. The door of the gate decorated with sculptures is wonderful. (Komagu in Japan?) The royal palace is lined with festive buildings, each of which has beautifully decorated exhibits that convey the politics of the time. Since the buildings in the royal palace are made with various specifications, I was able to take a look at each building with interest. What was worrisome was that the entrance gate was fine, but the width of the gate felt narrow. At night here I watched traditional dance.

(Translated by Google) The place that is most respected by Ubud villagers in particular and residents in the Gianyar district in general because it is in this place that the descendants of the Ubud Ruler now reside or the place of the Kings or palaces of the past. The castle family, the name for the residence of a noble family, the Ksatria caste, did not object to the guests' desire to visit and allow tourists to see a small part of the front of the castle to be visited or to take a self-photo there. On certain days this place also held traditional dance performances for guests to watch.

Best known among lovers of Balinese arts as one of the main sites to view traditional dance performances. The performance stage has a backdrop of ornate angkul angkul - traditional gate and guardian statues. Every evening, it host performances with gamelan percussive orchestras. One of the most visited sites in Ubud because of its central location.

Free entrance. Central location. Very pretty temple. It was a very nice walk through this palace. It is well kept and cleAn and right in the center of everything. Great for photo opportunity. I only wish there was more of a historical explanation so you can really enjoy what you’re looking at. Nonetheless. Worth the visit

A must visit here in Ubud. The palace itself is very small, but still worth a try to take a photo in front of the gate. It's in the centre of Ubud, so it's always crowded with tourists. Also, it's free! You can also watch the local Barong dance here.

It's free entry in the day time so I popped in for a look around. The architecture is stunning and I really loved the animal carving in stone, that was amazing! There is something very fascinating about the little double door ways which are very elaborately decorated - I think they are incredible and I adore how beautiful they are. It gets very busy around this area of Ubud so be careful of the traffic. It's worth a visit for sure. :)

A grandiose entrance although pretty small inside. you can easily finish the walkaround in less than 5mins. probably would be great to have tour guide for more facts/info about the old palace and make it more interesting. nonetheless, an interesting stop beside Saraswati Temple and the Ubud Market.

Also known as puri saren agung (beside the Ubud water palace/saraswati temple ). Can go there for 10mins walk around and snap some photos. Lots of street sellers selling kecak dance tickets. Would love to see the kecak show at night when I have the time in future.

Only went for the Legong dance at 19.30h, 100K/person for 1h30 (5 different dances). It was amazing, didn't feel long at all and we were amazed by the show. The dancers and the musicians are amazing. I just wish the explanatory leaflet was better to understand what I am seeing better, but overall it's a great experience in Ubud. Just be sure to arrive early as it gets really full and it can be difficult to get a good view!!

An absolute beautiful place to walk around, no where near as touristy as the temple in the sea but much more to see and very beautiful, you can see so much without the crowds there is a nice info room with a scale model of the temple complex and a really nice sample of some local art.

Beautiful temple (free entrance). When we came in, young girls were rehearsing balinese dancing. Plenty of vegetation and shade adds to the appeal and contemplation. We got there by organizing a private driver for the day with the villa we were staying at who dropped us at this area also popular for its nearby Ubud market to buy souvenirs, and Saraswati temple.

An exquisitely stunning palace adorned with remarkable stone carvings stands as a splendid showcase of traditional Balinese architecture. Entry is granted without any admission fee, allowing visitors to simply stroll in. Despite its modest size, the palace offers a comprehensive view, and during our visit lasting approximately 15 minutes, we had the opportunity to appreciate all its attractions.

I was there in the morning with my friend and was almost alone. The atmosphere was so calm and very special. We felt as if at any moment one of the doors would open and we would meet people from years ago dressed in traditional Balinese clothing who would smile at us and greet us with a smile and a greeting: Selamat pagi 🙏 If you are in Ubud, definitely go for a walk... preferably in the early morning hours

For this supposedly being one of the main attractions around Ubud, it's rather disappointing. Honestly it looks like any of the other myriad temples in Bali, only with a little more green/vegetation, forming a little oasis right in the center of Ubud. Walking around the grounds takes about 10-15 minutes, including queueing behind the ever present insta-models barring the passageways to get their picture/video taken. There's no inside of the buildings to visit. Entrance is free though, so while you're in Ubud, you might as well pay a visit. But if you're planning to avoid the hustle of Ubud center, this place is no reason to change your plans.

It is a traditional sightseeing spot with beautiful carvings. There are fences in some places to warn you not to go in. There are many vehicles nearby and there are no zebra crossings, so pay attention to traffic safety.Sometimes there are performances in the evening, there is a fee, it seems pretty good, it is worth visiting.

The place is okay... not much to see... very crowded. It's very difficult to get nice pictures because of the crowd. The perks however are: it's for free and it's in the heart of ubud art market. This can be a place of reprieve after all the shopping ...

(Translated by Google) These coordinates seem to be a guide on temple divisions in Ubud Royal Palace. Bali's venerable architecture has an all-inclusive temple, and the Ubud Royal Palace is, of course. The magnificent temples and shrines, which use complex and detailed stone carvings, are worth seeing. As expected, there is only Ubud's first royal palace, well-kept compared to other temples, and the orange walls are vivid. From the evening, it becomes a “sacred place for art”. Various official groups perform Baron Dance and Legong Dance daily, and tickets can be purchased easily at the entrance. I think many people are coming to Ubud for cultural events, but if you are familiar with these performances, it is quick to come here. Opposite the main road, there is a public tourist information center where you can get useful information about sightseeing not only in Ubud but also all over Bali. You can also arrange tickets for events that take place outside the Royal Palace. In the immediate vicinity there is a reputable merchant claim office with a good rate, which is convenient to accept transactions until late at night. That's why it is better to go sightseeing in Ubud based on this area.

The show here was absolutely incredible! Such a great insight into the culture and religion of the area. The costumes, dancing and music were sensational! So different to anything that anyone from a western culture would be used to. Tickets are cheap and you can buy them right outside the palace. Male sure to arrive early to try get yourself a good seat. Our show was moved across the road to the covered stage which gave us a great view!

Nice place for a detour while strolling along the art market. It's free to enter, but you can pay the additional fee to watch the traditional balinese dances held daily from 7pm to 9pm. While the dance show doesn't usually get overcrowded, be there earlier to get a good seat, as seating is entirely based on first-come, first-served.

Finally the Legong dance performances are reopened thanks to govt to open the border and relax PPKM restrictions. It’s good to see the dancers on act again. The show starts everyday 7:30 PM with only 100k IDR entrance fee! Come early to get the best seats as it’s pretty crowded during peak season

Very little to see here. And that's probably the reason they don't charge any money here. In the evenings they have a Balinese dance show which might be worth watching, but that's chargeable of course. Since it's free getting in, i suggest it's worth couple of good pictures and that's all.

Just a simple temple within Ubud Center. There is not much view here. There is no entrance during day but at night they have a show but you got to pay for it.

Palace is not that big. We watched the dance in here as they perform it every day and it was quite good. It was houseful even in the weekdays and 90% of the audience enjoyed until the end. But, since not everyone can truly appreciate local culture, it might be boring for them.

8th century palace of royal family of King Rsi Markandaya who also built stunning temples and an irrigation system that still supplies water to some farmers today. King Rsi is regarded as the founder of the Balinese Hinduism, a religion of holy water. Ubud stems from the word Ubad or medicine that refers to the healing properties of the indigenous plants of the region. The attention to detail in the stunning architecture as well as the statues of the gods is fascinating and seen all over Bali. The palace is worth a visit (for free) that won't take a lot of time and is close to the delightfully affordable Ubud Market and restaurants. Walk the streets to take in the aura and aromas of Bali with its beautiful people.

A nice reprieve from the busy shopping streets of Ubud. Free entrance. The palace complex (that you have access to) is not very large. I wish there was some information about the history of the palace. We visited at 17:30 on a Sunday. It wasn’t very busy (handful of other people). Note that Google says it closes at 5pm but we were able to enter at 5:30pm?!

The palace is incredibly beautiful and entrance is free. Worth a visit. What we didn't like is that the truly valuable treasures are at the closed area, we could only peek from outside the fence.

Admission is free and it is a beautiful palace. But it's located right and downtown move it where the traffic is the busiest. There is absolutely no public parking in that area so it is difficult to get there unless you have a driver drop you off.

Only a part of the Ubud palace is open for visitors. You can just admire architecture a bit there. Nothing to do for more than 15 mins. Entry is free of charge but I would recommend skipping this place unless you have nothing else to do. There are traditional dance shows conducted in the evening which might be worth a visit.

Pretty, but it's on the smaller side. It's a great place to soak in the local culture and history. The palace's compact size creates a cozy atmosphere, but don't expect a huge complex. Overall, it's a charming spot to visit in Ubud.

While in Ubud, we explored this temple 👍 beautiful, free admission, some tourists monopoly the photo scene and would not take turns with others .. there was some crowd but not that crowded, spent about 10-15 minutes to look around, unless you're THAT tourist then might need longer time haha. From here cross the street and do some shopping at Ubud Street Market.

Wonderful ambiance , the streets are filled with lot of cloths and art market and the lowest prices amaze u in all of bali …. The entry to different houses give a different vibe and better than the original palace , the cultural musical show towards the evening at the palace helps you understand the Balinese traditions and worshipping atmosphere.

It is located in the most central point of the city of Ubud. Parking there is impossible, so you must park in the parking lot, which is 5 minutes walking distance from the Palace. Entry is free and there are live events in the afternoon. The Palace is in very good condition and very clean. Not all areas of the palace are accessible.

This place is free to enter, and has some beautiful architecture. It's not huge and you'll probably be here for about 10 minutes, but there are some great photos to be taken. Use the Palace to take a breath from the hustle and bustle outside the walls.

Nice to see this unique culture. The mixture of luxury with religion is amazing. Although it is free to visit, it is not much to see as it is really small.
