Some of these pictures is not the actual palace. Here you need to be dressed in traditional clothes they provide, white long skirt, with headband and purple wrap top. Entrance is 35 000 per person. And it took us 2 minutes to “visit” the palace. Honestly it’s best if you eat on the terrace of the restaurant next to it, you will see everything anyway. Not worth the money.

Unimpressed. Looks like a sad temple locked and abandoned long ago in favor of using it to lure tourists to a restaurant and Starbucks next door. It's literally the worst case scenario of outside businesses taking over and abusing an indigenous cultural landmark. There's trash in the empty lily pond and closed doors with nothing but a facade imitating Balinese culture. It's worth 5 minutes of your time. Or a glance if you're sitting next door at Starbucks. Goodbye traditional Bali, hello Starbucks Bali!

We visited here on a weekday that was not too busy. It was a little disappointing that the site is under construction, so one of the lotus ponds was drained, and no access was allowed to the temple grounds. We were still able to walk around and get photos. You will be required to dress in traditional costume when you enter, but the rental is included in your entrance fee.

Currently (September 2023) not worth the price. The part that can be visited is just the water ponds, which are under renovation, so now they're basically mud ponds. Maybe it's worth the money when the water ponds are full. From the adjacent bar you can have a decent view of the ponds for the price of a drink. The temple itself can't be visited, since it's open only for worship.

It's a nice shrine, but truly, we didn't see what the big deal was., it is full of water features and it is visually impressive. You must put on a sarong and proper attire, including a headband, any admission price was 70,000 for two people.

Small but beautiful Temple!! Recommended to stop by and behold the beauty of the Lotus ponds. Part was in renovation, but still worth it. They hand out appropriate clothing when entering and entrance fee was 70k.

It is not free (cost 35,000 each),and it is a tourist trap. If you want to take cool photos for instagram, go here. However, if you want something that is not a total of about 100m of walking go elsewhere. There are so many temples that are much nicer and actually look like temples. Unless you want to take your cliché IG photo in a purple throne, then you found your place. It is that bad.

The temple is symbolically dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music, art, wisdom and learning. Many of the temples carvings and sandstone bas relief were created in her honor. With a sweeping pond filled with blooming pink lotus flowers at its entrance and an abundance of exquisite Balinese architecture - the temple should be marked on the itinerary of any traveler to Bali.

I’m not sure why this is an attraction. We went here to try to learn about Hinduism. The lotus pond is full of dead leaves. You just walk around and see the outside of the temple, not allowed to get in. I’m confused of what is this place about. They said it only open once in half year for ceremony. The building itself is beautiful. One good thing is that you can walk in for free so you don’t pay for nothing.

Great place to take pictures if you come early suggest to go before 10 AM as it can get really crowded afterward. The Starbucks inside/next is nice and unique. We loved it!

It’s amazing place. You should go sunrise time. In a quiet corner of the densely-trafficked centre of Ubud, there is a tiny Hindu temple set between two mirrored pools, covered by marvellous lotus flowers. Powerful energy of Saraswati. You can see Bali architecture so amazing

30 Jul 23: Came with a friend. You will need to pay an entrance fee before entering, and you will be given a set of clothing to wear over you clothes prior to entering as well. Unfortunately when we came, there was hardly any lotus flowers. It's still a nice stroll though, with beautiful architecture.

Next time I'll go in the begging of the day, because of Could be less crowded. There was a place on the left full of vegetables and small animals

Really nice temple surrounded with thousands of lotus. Tuesdays night there is a typical Balinese dance for 80.000. The dance it’s ok, few seats to seat, if you are late you must seat on the floor. There is a sturbucks in the main entrance if you need WiFi and a clean restroom. Also lotus coffee if you want a good coffee

Hidden behind a Starbucks, just metres from the busiest street in Ubud, this is a lovely, free escape from the noise and the crowds and the traffic. The grounds are not huge, but the temple is impressive, and the real star here is the water lily pond right out front. There is a cafe in the grounds if you need a drink or a meal, but if you just want a nice rest, or some lovely photos, there is no need to pay.

We visited the Ubud water palace as an extra activity whilst staying here. The palace was gorgeous with beautiful architecture and the bridge crossing with the water fountains made the experience seem magical (and instagramable) the entrance fee was 50k (IDR) and wearing traditional attire was mandatory but provided for you. There wasn’t a great deal to explore but a lovely little area nonetheless. Worth baring in mind the traditional dress provided covers legs, shoulders and there is also a headband so don’t wear too much as it gets very hot!

  • 3/5 Dutch Q. 2 months ago on Google • 22 reviews New
Ubud Water Palace is quite underwhelming but still pretty. The only Balinese people on the grounds are the staff, as visitors are mainly foreigners. After paying the entrance fee of 50.000 IDR you have to put on traditional clothing after which you are allowed in. This Balinese Hindu Temple is dedicated to the goddess Saraswati. There are water features and ponds with many lotus plants. Unfortunately you cannot enter the temple itself, this means what you see from the entrance is all there is to see for you. This does not mean it is not worth visiting as it certainly is.

  • 4/5 Maru B. 5 months ago on Google • 19 reviews
The place itself is situated right at the main street beside the Starbucks. There's a fee to pay at the entrance and you need to wear traditional clothes that they provide. Not sure about it being too hygienic in the sweating weather especially when some of the upper clothing was still wet probably from someone's sweat. All in all, beautiful architecture where you can take a picture while sitting on a throne chair. It's a small walk inside not a lot to see besides the pond and the outside of the building.

(Translated by Google) simple and beautiful (hardly any tourists) We particularly recommend the traditional restaurant or bar (Sunsetpoint) on the top right of the mountain (just follow the road for 1 km). As everywhere up north, the drinks are not great, but the view of the AGUNG volcano is really amazing. When the clouds get stuck there, the sun goes down, it's a great romantic place. When we were there at the end of 2018, it was known that it was still active and that it occasionally breaks out, but of course that was soooo "fake" for us - a few weeks later it actually broke out extremely, so that air traffic even ceased all over Bali became - madness !!!

Beautiful deep blue colored water. We did snorkeling, it was fantastic. The beach wasn’t too crowded. It weren’t that many people on the beach. We pretty much have the beach for ourselves. Amazing panoramic view from all angles very picturesque scene throughout. Definitely will go back. Next time we’ll try to find place to stay for the night instead of drive back to Nusa dua where we were staying. Be careful though the road to get there, were steep and narrow but you’ll get to enjoy scenic ride along the way.

Very beautiful temple with two lotus ponds in front of it. Best thing is you can get inside for free, no entrance ticket for this site. Yet, don't worry if you are looking for place to drink or eat just nearby, you can walk a bit and find starbucks just right in front of the temple, and you can have coffee and cold drink there. This temple is perfect to take pictures and get the "Bali Ambiance" and vibes here.

Lovely place but really not much to see here. The pond with the water lily's was for me the main attraction. No entrance fee. The traffic around this place is chaotic.

The lotus pond is full of semi dead. The temple is nice, but close to the public.

A must see place in Ubud. Just enjoy the pure art of balinese architecture.

Nice Balinese palace On. Water. Few cafes around and it's free to visit.

The Ubud Water Palace is an enchanting oasis that takes you on a journey through Bali's rich cultural heritage. The intricate architecture and serene gardens create a peaceful atmosphere. When you enter the Palace, they provide traditional clothing for visitors to wear over their clothes. It's a lovely way to embrace the local customs and immerse yourself in the experience. A must-visit for anyone seeking tranquillity and beauty in Ubud! 🌺🏯

Not much to see mostly just a photo op with the thrones. Would have liked some more historical information. Under maintenance but no discount, don't recommend making a trip here but if you happen to walk by.

Really cool experience, but don’t expect to see to much, it’s just the outside of the temple you are allowed to enter. Nevertheless you could spend 1 at a worse place (you also get really cool looking clothes)

Very disappointing. The beautiful lotus ponds surrounded by moss-covered statues? Non-existent. I came in November 2023, the ponds are empty, they put fountains in the middle with 'dancing' water. Also the statues along the corridor are taller than before and together with the fences block seeing the ponds (again, nothing to see). It's just 35k to enter but also it's JUST a 100m corridor with some extra fancy seats to get a picture that isn't that nice anyway. You can't enter de temple. Everything feels waaaaay overprepared for tourists, decorations all over the place. In my opinion it looked better before, when it was humble and simple. That raw beauty isn't there anymore unfortunately.
