There are 2 kinds of tickets you can get: 1. IDR 85k. This is the entrance fee and free drink in the restaurant. The drinks are mainly juice or coke. 2. IDR 115k. This is the entrance fee and the food and drink. The foods are grilled chicken. It was very good! The price for the grilled chicken itself is around IDR 40k. Suggestion: If you love art (I am talking an artist, the people who don’t only love art but also make one) then you would need 1-2 hours to be around. Personally, I saw every detail of the art. I also played the musical instruments, it is allowed. Therefore, if you go around 10am then I would say, take the IDR 115k ticket so you can have lunch in the restaurant. However, if you don’t understand art or just start understanding it, you would only need 30-45 minutes to see it all. This will result in the lower rating on google. I suggest you should go to the bar or club. ☠️

Furthermore, the Ubud Painting Museum, is the oldest museum in Bali. This museum is more specialized in traditional and modern Balinese painting, as well as carving and wood carving. If you like traditional Balinese painting and like the art of wood carving, then the Puri Painting museum is one that we can recommend to visit while on tour in Bali. The artworks in this museum are placed in four different buildings in the museum complex. To be able to see all the art in this museum, you have to spend at least 2 hours. The collection of paintings starts from the Batuan painting style, Sanur painting style, Ubud painting style.

This museum is the oldest Art Museum in Bali,  which specializes in modern traditional Balinese paintings  and wood carvings. The museum has beautiful grounds, and art is displayed in different buildings on the museum property. There is no air conditioning in the buildings. There is a toilet at the museum. There were some interesting exhibits. I especially liked the exhibit with traditional Instruments

There are two types of tickets: with and without lunch. They offer the more expensive one first so if you don't plan to eat, inquire about the other ticket. Great gallery with some fine examples of local Balinese art from the past century.

The museum is filled with Balinese woodwork and painting art. The art is curious, however the real highlight are the stories and myths they are based on - e.g. goliathian story how a fly lay larva into elephant's eyes that were pecked by a bird as a lesson that the weak may win over strong if they get together. The territory is not large, but there are four large buildings to visit. Expect to spend an hour or two. The entrance is 100k into which tea is included, however the restaurant was closed when we visited.

Oldest Art Museu. Normal Ticket 85k, kids under 15 free, ticket with lunch 115k, for workshops different prices apply. Many paintings and wood carvings are for sale. There is a store in the Museum with souvenirs at affordable prices. Old and contemporary paintings displayed, few stone works also. Nice gardens, just the galleries have a strange mud smell. Restaurant available. Some artworks not good for kids.

Central Ubud. Quiet inside, nice garden. Take a spell, have some quiet time in the shaded garden, see traditional and modern Indonesian and Balinese art, its a cheap and relaxing, simple way to have some cultural experience. Its not vey big, but entry was not much, we had a 90 minute wait so our driver said just chill out here if you want. Entry price included free lunch. I expected a small snack, see the photo I got pork rib for free. And sat in an elevated bungalow overlooking the gardens to eat it. Well worth it for the quiet time and peaceful meal, and to see art in a quiet environment.

I originally came for the art and stayed for the beautiful gardens and beverage/light meal that come with your entry ticket. Ponds, ancient trees, beautiful nature and old sculptures are the main reason to come here. The art is not always well kept and the buildings are quite poorly lit, which makes it hard to see much imo (and god its hot in there!). However, there are some very quaint and interesting pieces (drawings, paintings and sculptures) and all in all the ensemble makes this place worth its five stars.

Great place in Ubud to see traditional and modern Balinese and Indonesian art as it evolved across the years. The grounds and surrounds are extremely beautiful. Very picturesque and great for portraiture at sunset!

If you like Balinese art in the form of classical style paintings, maybe this museum will suit you. Because this museum holds many paintings from ancient times. This museum is divided into several buildings where the buildings have different painting styles, so I will explore this museum area. Not only can you enjoy paintings here, but there is also a flower garden that makes you calm.

Worth a visit if you enjoy museums and/or love art! They have collections of Balinese art spanning over five centuries and this museum is a nice, quiet reprieve from the noise and traffic of central Ubud. As of March, 2023 the ticket entry price is 115,000 and includes a lunch and beverage from the museum cafe.

Not recommend. Only 4 rooms of paintings. 3 are dark and not suitable for appreciating the artworks. Most paintings are with monsters / religious idols, which will scare kids. 85k for ticket with a free drink.

The ticket seems pricey at first since actually I'm not a museum kind of person but turns out, this museum is quite good to spent your time when you dont know where else to go in Ubud (especially when its on raining season). Anw!! The ticket is not only to entry the museum, but you'll also got a drink and banana fried (pisang goreng which is good!!!) And some other snacks.

This museum is an amazing place to see old paintings dated as old as 1605. I managed to take picture of the oldest painting before reading that it's forbidden to take photos (no worries I didn't use flashlight). Looking at the paintings painstakingly detailed made was an awe experience for me. Most old paintings depicted Mahabharata and Ramayana scenes. Some are in good conditions, some are decaying and in bad conditions. Still, you can see the glory of the painting richness in color and details. The 4 buildings are old some with water stains on the ceiling and spiderwebs on some windows. But the exterior of the buildings is nicely taken care of. The toilets are clean with unique doors. I really wish the building can be renovated and those bad condition paintings can be restored. Let the present time look at these amazing paintings with wonder and not with pity.

Nice visit after lunch to escape Ubud crowds. There were four houses to visit. Only one was outstanding and well curated. The other three were too dark and felt it was not presented well as the place looked half lit. Felt like the artwork was dumped there and left to rot. Whereas the first one had fan, lights, and sufficient ventilation. For the price paid for entrance, I feel it is not worth it. If the other three houses are better maintained and presented with pride, then it will be worth the entrance fee. I visited Setia House of masks and puppets and felt that was way better than this- and that was free with no entrance even.

The entrance to the museum really intrigued me and is what made me wander in. I was hoping there would be lots of information about the different arts in Indonesian culture. There are 4 buildings, each with framed paintings and drawings in Indonesian style, mostly depicting Hindu stories. The artist name is given next to the art work, and sometimes a description of what is happening in the picture.. The artwork is beautiful, but there is no information about Balinese art itself, or the techniques. The grounds are small, but beautiful - make sure to relax next to the small lotus pond, and the pond at the top of the Hull has carp in that will follow you around the pond, in the hope of being fed.

Once i guess on 2020 i went to this museum with my big family but then we found out that the entrance ticket was way to expensive for all of us. Than we end up cancelled it...but a few weeks ago i went there again...this time only me n my husband, we both visited this museum because my husband was doing an exhibition for his photography artwork and i got good news that the museum now are open for free entrance. This is because they've got new management for the museum...hopefully this information is not temporarily because of the exhibition event...so everyone can experience the Museum n enjoy the great histories about Puri Ubud n the King. So interesting place to be visited.

The ultimately beautiful place to know the history of Balinese Art, especially the emerging area of Ubud. It has collections based on time sequences, and the place is more like a palace-like complex.

As the name suggests, this nuseum is specializing in paintings. I was in the nuseum not to exolore and see all the collections of the museum, but rather to attend a meeting held by my campus. That is why I did not have the chance to explore the whole museum. This museum is the property of the King of Ubud and many of the paintings and photos are dedicated for Him. What I like nuch here is the atmosthere and the way the buildings are designed to to march the landscape of the area. This makes a very beautiful and nice complex. I think I should come here again to explore more so I can tell you more stories about the King of Ubud and of course about the museum in more detail.

Nice display of local arts, we were the only guests at the time. The ticket is quite expensive, 145k each, we only had half an hour for the place, so a bit hesitate, the lady at entry then offered us 2 for 1 price. It's said a set lunch or drink included in the ticket, but we were in rush didn't find the cafe anyway. The best thing was a full set of Indonesian musical instruments, we tried to play on them and had a lot of fun.

It is a beautiful museum, several buildings and a restaurant where you get a refreshment and snack after touring the grounds, included in entry fee. The garden is magnificent with big lotus pond and many areas to rest. Can highly recommend a visit to learn about the influence on Bali art paintings by Europeans.

Great place to explore Balinese art in Ubud. The museum is close by to Ubud Palace and Saraswati temple. I booked my tickets on klook app and it was easy to redeem them at museum. There are 4 sections / rooms, each dedicated to different periods of art. Some painting have an information board that gives context about the story. The museum also has workshops for music instruments, batik, masks etc. These workshops have separate fee, not included in the entry ticket. The museum has a beautiful garden and lotus pond, nice place to spend the afternoon, away from the crowd and heat.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to post the pictures of museum pieces, so I won't. Just want to say, that the museum has four buildings with different pieces of art. If you are interested in Balinese art history, you should definitely visit Puri Lukisan. And it also has a very beautiful garden.

The museum is laid out in the traditional style, with four exhibitions across the buildings at each compass point. There is commentary in English, although it doesn't always make complete sense. However, it gives you enough of an overview of art through time and the founding of the museum. There is also an opportunity to buy art, if you wish (expensive). There is a cafe on site, with the set lunch included in your ticket. The lunch can be meat or vegetarian, and on the day we visited was a simple but tasty fried rice.

Open from 10am to 4pm, but it can be longer than that time. The services really good and helpful. It's a big place but tidy. You can get the discount price 50% and it only cost IDR 42.5k, grab it fast. There's a lot of pictures, painting and sculptures. Just enjoy your time at here, it's relaxing.

Very quiet when we there (late in Saturday). Four buildings; if you want to visit them in historical order, start with the one in the right - which has a couple of 17C items, and several from around 1800 - and progress anti clockwise or others. the last building includes contemporary paintings that are for sale. Decent selection of Balinese art - mostly paintings, but some sculptures in slightly dusty display cabinets. There's a varying amount of information about each painting: sometimes just the basics in Balinese, but sometimes a summary of the story the painting illustrates. Delightful gardens. Cash only for tickets. We paid Rp93k for 2.

There were XVII cent. paintings, few XIXth on display and two buildings dedicated to before and after Second World War period as well as new buyings by the museum. It was educative experience. Beaurtiful art promoting local culture. The only disadvantage was I could not pay with card.

Museum Puri Lukisan is a place to learn about traditional Balinese paintings and arts. It consists of four exhibition halls. The North one is a bit disappointing, the paintings ae mediocre and some isplay immature techniques. These paintings are tagged with a price. The subsequent halls are more satisfying, in the particular the South one with traditional paintings. The admission (Rupiah 145,000 in 2019) comes with a lunch. The best time to go will be in the morning or at lunch time.

Hadn't heard of this place before visiting Ubud. Visiting the monkey forest wasn't something I was interested in so the car driver offered the museum as an option. It was a very good suggestion; one that I was happy with. We got there just after midday and it cost IDR 145K for entry into the place. Was a very enjoyable place to visit and it wasn't very crowded during my visit. The gardens are quite nice and provided a soothing atmosphere when compared to the hustle and bustle outside. One of the halls seemed to have air conditioning while the others were a bit warmer. What I found out was that included in the entrance fee was a very well laid out buffet. Unfortunately, I had already had a big meal at another place AND so was unable to have even one bite! The young waitress and the lady at the ticket were more than happy for me to return in the next couple of days to gorge myself on the buffet. However, due to the logistical issues I was unable to take them up on the offer. Some of the other commitments here mention about a lower entrance fee. Not sure if that was available as I wasn't offered the option. All in all, THIS place should DEFINITELY be on everyone's list when they visit Ubud! Forget the bloody monkey forest; if you are really keen on seeing monkeys or monkeyIike behaviour, I suggest that you go around to the popular drinking spots or rowdy karaoke places in your city/town on any weekend. Bet there's going to be a lot of young people in various stages of intoxication to keep you amused ? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

(Translated by Google) For such a high price, the museum does not offer much. Yes, we can admire the beautiful Indonesian works of art in 4 buildings, although you can get the impression that we are more in an art gallery than a museum.
