Might be our favourite resort/hotel during our 2 weeks stay in Bali. Beautiful hotel area, very friendly staff, and good location with really close proximity to everything that Ubud has to offer. But the biggest talking point for us? The beautiful rice paddy next to our room. It just gives you that nice, wonderful, therapeutic vibe. Who doesn't enjoy waking up and having breakfast next to a rice paddy, and enjoying the sound of cricket and frogs when we're sitting down on the balcony with books in hand. Pure bliss. Will definitely put this hotel high on my go-back list if we're in the Ubud area again

This is a solid 4-Star hotel that is on the pricey side for a 4-Star hotel in Ubud. If you’re booking here because of the 5-star label, you’re going to be disappointed. We’re staying 6 nights with Alaya. Pros: they do have everything: the pools, the restaurant, the spa, and the friendly staff. They’re well staffed so if you need anything, someone comes over right away. The bed has a seated ledge surrounding it which we found to be really nice and useful. Cons: Since we feel this is a solid 4 star hotel, 5-star pricing for food, drinks, and spa just seems a bit too much. The beds are too soft. Rooms are humid (though I’m not sure that can be avoided in this area due to the humid nature of the weather). There’s no lotion. Yeah, it’s a small thing but 5-star hotels would have it. And finally, we didn’t feel that this place was designed with functionality in mind. Example: the vanity is lit from a recessed lighting cone. This makes doing makeup very difficult. The shower has a strange empty walk-in area. But overall, it is well decorated.

Reviewing in the middle of our stay. This paradise in the middle of central Ubud. We are staying at one of the rooms away from the pools and tucked away so it feels like our own sanctuary. The team are very helpful, the rooms are excellent for the price you pay. A perfect experience for us. The location is excellent if you want to be amongst the city but also feel removed. We will definitely be back. Thanks to all at Alaya :)

Feel at peace in this beautiful resort. Centrally located yet private. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Well designed Resort which offers many photo spots. Staff are friendly and offer to take many great shots for us. Cafe and restaurant offer great coffee and yummy Balinese food. Will be back for sure 🥰🧘‍♀️💓

Was introduced to this hotel by a Friend back in 2019 and I loved everything single thing, we are finally back after the pandemic and everything still good if not better. The breakfast is now at the front, the back venue has been renovated and is looking amazing, the service still impressive staff always friendly and ready to help, the accommodations so comfy, Ohhh the spa, just the best massage! Was so happy to be back and I Couldn’t recommend more!

Best lodging of my life. Will never forget this place. So relaxing. Our room was perfect. Wonderful breakfast. Our balcony had excellent privacy due to trees and had a stream outside making meditative white noise. Perfect experience. They brought fresh fruit in the room every day.

They forgot to put a bath tub in our bathroom, and doors! But curtains! How original idea. Nowhere to put your stuff in the bathroom, very in convenient. Nothing like what they post online. Aircon is ancient and making tremendous loud noise. People mentioned about the bed being too soft, wither the mattress is cheap or too old, it lost its support. We had our worst sleep in this hotel. Lucky only booked one night just for the rice field experience. Hotel is in a prime location though, very nice setting, pool is nice, we enjoyed food and drink service by the pool, staffs are friendly, reception and food service all very efficient. If you are a good sleeper, then you won’t have issue. And perhaps lower down your expectation.

We stayed at the Alaya Resort Ubud for six nights. It was a great experience. The service is great with many helpful and friendly staff around. The pool area is very nice and offering a great ambience to relax or take a swim. We were here with a baby and it was totally suitable for families with small kids. Would have stayed longer and would stay here again when in Ubud.

If I could rate this resort and it’s staff more than 5 stars, I would. My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights during our honeymoon and we are so glad we chose Alaya! They have set the bar so high that we are afraid our next location won’t quite live up to it! I’m not sure what these bad reviews are about, they couldn’t be more incorrect and further from the truth! We have not had one sub-par or negative experience while staying here. The location is perfect (lots within walking distance), the standard of our room was perfect (pristine and luxurious), the food was perfect (best we have ever eaten in our lives!) and most of all, the staff were perfect. We really felt welcome and they are all so kind. They deserve the world. Thank you everyone :)

We had a great two week stay. Fantastic friendly service from all the staff, very clean spacious rooms with good amenities. This place could be a five star but falls short due to a few simple things. For a 4/5 star hotel, the TV could be updated to maybe include Netflix or some tv channels that are international and not local. Lovely pool area but with perhaps not enough sun loungers Gym was good, but favoured weights to men then to women. Lowest dumbbell being 8kg Staff are super friendly but when dealing with a specific food request. It seems that multiple people get involved and more often than not the request isn’t dealt with or comes back wrong. Overall it really was amazing. We would come back for sure! We would recommend it to everyone. Perfect location SPA was exceptional

Our stay here was phenomenal. We told them it was our honeymoon and they upgraded our room, had rose petals waiting for us both in the bath and on the bed when we checked into our room. Our balcony had a stunning sunrise view. The room was super clean and comfortable and the staff were so kind. The food at this resort was delicious, the best we had in Bali. We loved the complimentary breakfast. The pizza on the room service menu was also super yummy. The spa is gorgeous and all of the flowers were so luxurious in the treatments. They also offered body scrub/tea making classes which were super fun. My favourite part was the infinity pool overlooking the rice field. Thank you for making our honeymoon so incredible!

One unique hotel in Ubud Bali that applied semi jungle concept into their rooms. Really love the open bathroom concept with huge bathtub. The room was spacious and clean. The people were so friendly, helpful, and attentive. They prepared a special cake for our honeymoon stay. The hotel surrounding was also very beautiful. They have a big garden to walk around and a long pool on two different sections. The food was also amazing. Had breakfast, tes time, and dinner there. The crispy duck was very yummy that we would go back just to get the duck lol. Will surely be back.

Stayed during New Year eve and it was fully booked. The check in process was swift. Car park is limited but worry not they have valet service. I booked the Alaya Suite room, and it was spacious. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, bathtup is big, have a small pantry with wash basin, big balcony too. Swimming pool is not too big, they have 2 pools and both of them arent big. The only problem I have is they dont have handheld shower, only rain shower, so kinda hard for me to shower my child. Breakfast is available in room, served by Pison. The breakfast tasted quite good. The things that I love is the location of the hotel! Many great restaurants around and can be reach by walking. Easy to find foods nearby (Bebek Bengil, Losteria Pizza, Kakiang Bakery, Seeds Eatery, Suka Espresso, etc) Overall it was a pleasant stay with Alaya Ubud.

Bad experience and service here! Last day after checking out, we stayed for more than an hour. If there’s anything left, we hoped that we can be told, but no any information. Even worse, when we came back to Singapore, we found my important things left and connected with this hotel and they admitted that. In the whole proceeds, no one contacted me to report this loss. It resulted in a great loss to me!!

Not typically a resort person and we booked this for the CHSE arrival requirement but ended up really enjoying our stay here. Beautiful property and rooms with excellent and friendly service. Good value for the price!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the resort is great in Ubud and easy to get to a few tourist spots, and close to a few good restaurants and right next to a supermarket. The room however is quite dated, the aircon is very noisy at night, and the towels look a bit old and doesn't have a fresh smell. I don't think this is a 5-star hotel, more like just a three or four star hotels, in that sense the price is not low.

Excellent setting. Amazing views, big pools and Lagoon pools. Beautiful beach. Very nice rooms, we stayed in a family king room. Amazing staff. We went there with our 2 kids of 3 and 5. Had a wonderful time. Definitely recommendable.

The room key card was always out of order. Other than that, the swimming pool was brilliant, spa was super nice with good service and skill. Breakfast and food were great. Room was tidy and clean, near the pool and spa as well. Was so relaxing and awesome, will come again next time!

This resort is located in a prime location and tourist can walk down to most of the good restaurants, and main shopping area is also quiet near to this place. The overall ambience of this resort is very excellent, equipped with multiple restaurants which serve excellent food and has live music in the evening. The rooms are very spacious, well maintained and provide all the elements of luxury accommodation. Only downside inside the rooms that I could note is lack of immediate hot water provision (they do have hot water facility but I think it is solar panel heating therefore it takes time for proper hot water to come, till that time I had to use lukewarm water). The resort hasbits own rice field and amazing landscaping, with beautiful swimming pool. Overall the resort is very good option in Ubud.

Alaya is fabulous. Rooms: The best of Ubud's 5 star hotels I've ever stayed so far. Service: Staff and Managers are all very kind and helpful, attentive to our needs. Location: The BEST! Restaurants and cafes all around with walking distances. Monkey forest and art shops are also in walking distances. Everywhere you wanna go around Ubud, you can just leave your car or your bike, and just enjoy the walk - preferably for an evening stroll.

IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL! I booked the hotel due to the nice location, but didnt see anywhere that says has no elevator. I am 5 months pregnant and was located in 3rd floor with the furthest room. Asked reception to change room but I feel like they weren’t trying their best to accommodate. I booked a massage for maternity which I already think overpriced, but I went ahead and booked it anyway. We went to check the spa and I was already feeling tired from the walking distance from the room to the spa and the stairs. I asked reception if I can have it in my room which many hotels will allow this, specially considering I am pregnant. But surprisingly, again they didn’t seems to care and tried their best to accommodate me. They told me to go still go to the Spa at 9.30PM alone even tho I said I wouldn’t be able to go. The reception staff was so rude that night when I asked If I could have the massage in the room and was already fed up from the service. I cancelled the spa at the end due to zero flexibility. The only thing I like about this place is the location and the room size as well as the breakfast options. Breakfast staff were very attentive too.

Excellent stay in Ubud! Location was great, walkable to plenty of restaurants, shops, spas, monkey forest (a must go if staying here!). Resort was beautiful, staff was super friendly. Rooms were clean, fresh bottled water provided daily, huge plus. And the daily breakfast was so good! We used their spa, and it was great. One of our favorite massages during our 10 day stay in Bali. Two pools to use, both were clean and relaxing! Would recommend this hotel!

Amazing service. The best service and the most friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered! I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting Bali for the first time. Pay the extra to get the complimentary breakfast and massage - well worth it!!

The level of quality in every aspect of our stay has been second to none. The room we stayed in was absolutely stunning. The views were beautiful the room was spotless, the shower and bath were lovely. So spacious. The staff were so unbelievably friendly. So genuinely warm and willing to go above and beyond for you to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. If you're tossing up whether to pay the extra for the breakfast, do yourself a favour and just get it, the buffet is so good! The pool is lovely with a bar and food options that can be brought to you. The restaurants all around are fantastic too. Make sure to give the hotel's restaurants a go, particularly Cerita Manisan which has a range of traditional Balinese and Asian dishes. Absolutely delicious. I'll be recommending Always Resort to friends when they are planning trips to Bali.

Wonderful place to stay in ubud. Easy access to local shops. A lot of good restaurants nearby. Walkable distance to monkey forest. Despite located at busy road, the room is quiet and serene. There are two swimming pools at the property surrounded by lush garden with rice paddies. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alaya. The staff are great, food to match and the location is really convenient. The hotel is quite large so you never feel like you’re on top of people and the restaurant next door has some great food.

Amazing hotel, an oases of calm right in the city of Ubud. Even more amazing staff who are super polite and very actively help you with anything. We were vegan and the managers made sure there were enough options for us. We wanted to book extra nights but they were already full. Recommend 10/10

Such a great service here. We checked in and got a welcome drink. The room was clean with a bathtub and the shower gel smells so good (rosemary Vanilla) that I want to buy it and bring it home. The hotel also offers free photography and can get one photo for free. We were traveling for couple days and can Stiege our luggage’s free of charge. Overall, I would recommend it. Lovely place.

A very good location, near the convenience store, covid test, lots of cafe n local food. The hotel is doing great maintenance even though its in low mode season because the pandemic. The view was great from 5th floor throught the paddy fields and swimming pool. Huge balcony to spend the time there to chit chat, accompanied by breeze from the ceiling fan. It was great

We stayed here for two consecutive weeks during pandemic. The place was very quiet, with very friendly staff, and well maintained. The rooms are really spacious and the bed super comfy, impeccable housekeeping and quiet. The hotel is right there n center of Ubud with plenty of shops and restaurants as well as monkey forest within walking distance. Last, the spa has the best massages of Ubud (trust me). I will happily stay here again!

Nice hotel in the middle of ubud. We stayed in a connecting suite which was located at the back of the property, which has at least one set of stairs to overcome ( no ramp or elevator) to reach the room. This is not too convenient for families using strollers or wheelchairs. Room was spacious and clean, with a nice view over the property/ rice field. Breakfast is offered at the Pison restaurant, next door, but has too limited options in my view, for the price we had to pay (combined with the room rate vs room only rate). Coffee was great, food was ok. We enjoyed the live band on friday evening.

  • 5/5 Badrol H. 1 year ago on Google
The location is awesome, plenty of things to do and visit just outside the hotel lobby. The staff is friendly and willing to help. The breakfast is basic but more than enough to fuel you for the rest of the day. If you can get past the weird configuration of the bathroom, I highly recommended it.

As always, every hotel that i stay in Bali has great hospitality. This hotel, especially, gives more extra mile, although during a very busy and high season period, all the staff still serve every guest with great manner and superb politeness. From reception, room boy, cleaning service until vallet staff. I asked a lot of their assistance many times, from asking for matches for lighting up a birthday cake from a cleaning lady who was busy cleaning room to room at that time (but still she got us the matches) until asking for a coconut from a staff who was trimming a coconut tree near the pool (he gave us two young and fresh coconut that he cut from the tree) The location of the hotel is also great as it is in the centre of Ubud main busy area. When you stay here, you can walk around the hotel area to get your dining as there are lots of top restaurant around the hotel within walking distance. Avoid driving when you go to Bali around this time (holiday season) The facility of this hotel is at perfect condition, clean swimming pool and complete gym equipment. The price is affordable too. Recommended hotel of you stay in Ubud area.

Well we requested a taxi to pick us from a villa as we were having lot of luggage, though the price was expensive we agreed then communication stopped with the hotel. Tried to call them for 2 hours to get the taxi information and when they finally picked up they informed us that they don't have taxis until noon and it was already too late as we had already checked out from our villa with our luggage waiting in the street!! Otherwise the stay was nice, the staff were friendly the room was comfortable, my only comment on the room is that the whole floor was porcelain including bathroom area which was quite risky to slip Location is super central and their spa is magnificent!

This is about the service provided by the Reservation Team! A big shout out for the team💖 I planned a trip to Bali but unfortunately I couldn’t get there due to visa issue.as soon as I got to know about it I texted the hotel and the team was very efficient and they were helping me to get the visa from few agents but that attempt also didn’t work out😔 But the reservation team didn’t give up to bring us they were so supportive and since it’s a visa issue both parties were unable to do anything and the hotel understood our issue and helped us 🤩I ’m waiting to come back this beautiful resort once they open back visa . Thank u for the grate service🙂

A perfect place to stay in the heart of Ubud. You are close to everything you will want to visit. The accommodation is wonderful and luxurious. Both pools clean and nice to relax in. I did not try the spa so can’t comment. I did eat at the Pison Brasserie located within the Alaya and the food and service was fantastic! Good price too. Everything about my stay was exactly as I had hoped for. I will definitely be back.

This is my second time staying at Alaya resort! I really enjoy the vibe here. I remember in 2016, the swimming pool was right next to the restaurant. Now they move the pools to a more hidden area right next to the building where we receive our massage. The staff was super friendly during our stay, and we absolutely enjoy the breakfast! Some downsides are that we can see ants in the room , and I wish the sound proof system of the rooms can be more solid… it’s hard to fall asleep when you can clearly hear that the next room neighbor was taking a shower. Overall I still highly recommend this hotel to any tourists who like to experience the true Bali. 😇

  • 5/5 Enrico Z. 1 year ago on Google
Loved the resort! Located right in the center of Ubud, 10 min walking distance from Monkey Forest and right in the middle of the action with several bars just across the street. Restaurant offers food all day till 10pm. Breakfast choice is somewhat limited compared to what you would expect yet food quality is excellent. Staff is great and totally friendly. We weren't lucky enough with the weather to enjoy the pool outside but it looked very cozy and the right size for the hotel guests with a great feeling of privacy

Really good place to stay in Central Ubud! We got a free upgrade to Alaya Room which had a massive bathtub. The location is super-good with cafes and restaurants near by. Breakfast is buffet with many vegetarian options available! The overall vibe of the place was really very nice.

Very rustic looking with lots of bamboo and greenery around. Friendly staff and very helpful management. Extremely tranquil setting ideal for yoga and nature lovers. Hotel rooms very open with only a curtain separating bathroom from main room space. Not a family oriented hotel. And definitely not for party lovers.

  • 5/5 Omid E. 1 year ago on Google
This resort is breathtakingly beautiful. The room was massive and service was perfect. The spa packages definitely helped me relax and reset. It is within walking distance to so much, but when you’re in the resort, it feels like you’re in your own little Ubud world.

Enjoyed this resort though the daybeds filled up quickly and probably were inadequate for the number of guests. Used the gym which is small but useful. The grounds are lovely but we didn't get to use the restaurant much. The room was comfortable though the sheet was not fitted.

Staying at Alaya Resort Ubud for 4 nights has been a wonderful experience. On arrival we were upgraded for a bigger room. Service was top! And the location perfect for exploring Ubud and the surrounding area. We regret not having stayed for a bit longer. Breakfast and afternoon tea (including yummy local deserts), swimming pool and exclusive spa treatment have to be highlighted as well.

i spent two nights in the hotel and found it overrated and overpriced. it is not up to 5 stars at all. the swimming pool is dirty and cold at night. bed is too soft. breakfast is not included in the room. also, there is no one in the front desk..... Food in the restaurant is also overrated, much smaller portion as other restauarants. very salty.... won't go back again.
