This is a ok place, not amazing, not 5 star as it claims too be. Place could do with some retouches. Needs some TLC. The bath water takes ages to fill and by the time it’s full it’s cold…. Loved how big the pool and room was!! Breakfast could be improved!! Found it so funny how they expected us to share the smallest pastry for breakfast gym is nice 👍 Loads of aggressive monkeys hanging around the bridge and after 2pm outside room. Staff members don’t like it when you use shuttle bus to Ubud… one did say to use to hire a taxi for a day…. …….

Amazing villa and private pool. Staff are so friendly. Monkeys do make an appearance but are no problem. I would happily stay here again when in the region. Also, the drivers/tours are worth booking through the hotel. We'll worth visiting!

Amazing stay for our Honeymoon! Great service, location and room. We booked a private suite with swimming pool and was spectacular. Clean, very private (besides some monkey's as it is next to the monkey forest, but not a bad thing), quiet and comfortable. Staff is amazing and so kind. Location is great as well, short walk to monkey forest, palace, morning market/art market and plenty of restaurants. Breakfast was great as well! They can provide boxed breakfast if you're heading out early for a hike. We did a couples massage and it was delightful. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for 3 nights. We were checked in by the friendly staff in the front desk and always being greeted when the staff saw us when we walked by. Our stay was very enjoyable. Room is very clean, great location, the breakfast was amazing and the pool was perfect. We loved our stay at Royal Kamuela and can’t wait to be back again.

I want to write this review not because I've stayed at the property. I had made a booking BASED on the rave reviews on googlemaps & I have no doubt it would have been an enjoyable one; however, Turkish airline had cancelled my flight & Bali is not yet ready for visitors. Royal Kamuela Villas & Suites however were super accommodating despite the original reservation made was nonrefundable. It was a no-fuss simple exchange via Agoda & in 24 hours Agoda processed the refund with no cancellation fee. Now THIS IS what would make a customer return to the property & book future reservations without hesitation because they value you as a customer & are understanding of the extenuating circumstances preventing travel. I shall be back but I think this wd at least give future travellers some peace of mind when booking with Royal Kamuela.

Great, tranquil hotel in the heart of Ubud. Very good service and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended. Where other hotels give you a small bath tub, this one gives you a proper large square tub which is great for kids. Plus: swimming pool is very clean, water is balanced with no weird taste or too chlorinated. Note: lots of monkeys, but then again the hotel is close to Monkey Forest so it is expected. Just keep your foods close and guard it with your life 😆

This hotel gives you whatever is more than your expectation. When you see the entrance and reception at first, you may think it’s just a normal and common hotel. But when you start to walk to your room, you’ll be surprised at how big it is and high quality of their service and facilities. It’s like you’re walking through tunnel that leads you to whole another space in a minute. You’ll be teleported from a normal street to quiet and peaceful jungle. Staff there is super kind, welcoming and friendly.

Wow what an amazing hotel in the heart of Ubud. We stayed for 2 nights in October 2023 and had a wonderful stay. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely spa day at Aum spa and a fantastic dinner at Shrida Restaurant within the hotel. We stayed in one of the 3 pool access rooms and we can’t fault it, the room was decorated with rose petals and a rose bath. Highly recommend!

Very good service, the swimming pool is also really clean and big they also have a gym there, the breakfast has a small selection but tastes good (i recommend the fried rice & noodles) sometimes the monkeys roam around at 10 am & 4pm so you can see them walk around and climb around the hotel. Very worth it!

Our stay in Villa 6 was wonderful. The private pool was a touch of luxury and the morning monkey 🐒 antics were very special. Every staff member was nice, their beautiful Balinese faces light up with beaming smiles and we felt genuinely welcomed. Special mention to Indra (driver and butler) ... And to young Kris in the restaurant Thank you🙏❤️

Royal Kamuela was an amazing place we stayed during our Honeymoon. We had a villa with private pool for four nights. Located next to the Monkey Forest, it was quite convenient to get around Ubud. Special thanks to Indra for his amazing customer service, as our driver! He also took great pictures of us, during our tour around Ubud.

absolutely fantastic, unique, dream place. a true paradise. My wife and I have just returned from this beautiful resort: wonderful professional welcome always with a smile and ready to satisfy your every request. we had villa number 2 and what can I say A DREAM. the cleanliness and comfort of the unique camera are impeccable: waking up with monkeys makes everything more magical. But the strong point of this structure is certainly the restaurant. really rich breakfast I highly suggest Nasi goreng and Muesli with Granola. fresh juices 100* service always precise and tidy, never intrusive. We also tried dinner, and it may seem repetitive but it was superb. Excellent lobster excellent pasta delicious soup TOP TEMPURA. Really congratulations to everyone, you made our holiday a dream, thank you. We love you guys Amanda & Raul

This was our first stay in Ubud and it set the bar very high! It is a beautiful resort with any amenity you can think of. It has two very large pools, a gym, spa, sauna, restaurant and bar on-site. Room service was the absolute best with incredible food! The staff are all very helpful and sweet. They even set up a flower bath for us which was heavenly. Would recommend for your next trip to Ubud!

We had such a wonderful stay here! The staff were amazing, and a special thanks to the lovely staff in the restaurant that made our dining experiences so enjoyable. The food was five star, but when the service is also five star, it makes such a difference. The pool area was beautiful, and it was peaceful. A lovely space to enjoy a Bintang while reading my book. You can not fault the location of the hotel. We were within a five minute walk of the monkey forest and all the shopping and dining you could ask for was right on the doorstep. Surprisingly, given we were so close to all the action, we did not notice any noise from the main street in the evening. If I had to find fault here, I would simply say that the room was a little tired. This didn't concern us though as it was well appointed, clean, and very spacious. Thankyou for a wonderful stay! Highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location, accessed from the Monkey Forest Road, but set back far from it so feels quiet and secluded. Considering the small number of rooms / villas...the resort is very large and peaceful. Staff are unfailingly courteous and polite. We had a suite room (non villa) which unlike most of those featured on the website was not pool view...but garden view facing back towards Monkey Forest Road. I have a feeling this may be considered less desirable but in my opinion it was better as the view was lovely and a better aspect than the pool. The rooms themselves are spacious with probably one of the comfiest beds / pillows I have encountered. A la carte breakfast was lovely each day. The make GREAT barista coffee! The cappuccino I had each morning was better than the vast majority of coffees I get in Melbourne. The pool is huge for the small number of guests that use it and there are a total of just 16 loungers around it...but they were never fully occupied. My only complaint is that the pool towels were often late to be put out...and many of them are not in great condition.

We stayed for a week here and had a wonderful experience. Shout out to the reception and restaurant staff who are always so welcoming and friendly. They always greet you with a smile and try their best to accommodate and cater to your needs. We’ve felt spoiled and very well taken care of. The only area that can be improved would be for the spa. We encountered some issues with the welcome 15min massage, which the reception team tried to offer rectification. However, it was unnecessarily unpleasant. Spa staff should learn hospitality from their fellow workmates.

An absolutely stunning stay! Everything about this place is amazing, we had a private villa and honestly it made my mum cry for her birthday. The food was great, the place was emaculate and ALL the staff were absolutely amazing! They gave us a tour of the whole place on a golf cart before we checked in, which was lovely. Not just that, but they drove us to our next hotel for no fee at all. They make you feel amazing and are so lovely. Will always come back! Plus - NO KIDS ALLOWED, so beautiful and quiet!

This is hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The facilities are excellent and you can see how well the hotel is looked after by it’s team of incredible staff. They are such a great example of the exemplary Balinese hospitality which we have received during our trip. I wish them all nothing but the best and hope to return again one day.

Beautiful experience at the Royal Kamuela. The room was large, clean and had all the amenities including a fridge, bottled water supplied daily and iron along with a very large bath and a shower The service was probably the best I've ever experienced anywhere in the world. The staff were all extremely attentive and would bend over backwards to help. They are truly the masters of hospitality. The location was ideal. Located in the monkey forest, you will get the odd jump from monkeys but it's very close to the ubud palace without being overly close to the noise of the clubs

What an amazing place. Booked for a special birthday and from the minute we arrived the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Our Villa was something amazing and location great with plenty of bars and restaurants in the evening. Who needed to go to Monkey Forest with the monkeys around the resort although we did make the error of putting fruit out but it gave a great photo opportunity. Would highly recommend and wish we had stayed longer before moving to another part of Bali.

We stayed in a beautiful villa for two with private pool. Very comfortable and spacious and beautifully designed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was surprisingly good for a hotel, and surprisingly reasonable for a five star hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights last month (2/2023). We had 5-20 monkeys in our backyard every single morning. The Villa is so beautiful and we loved the pool and waterfall. The service is great, the breakfast with the amazing view was a great addition too. Beautiful bathroom and huge bathtub & shower. Walking distance to so many shops, food, and the monkey forest is at the end of the road. We got a motorbike which made it easier to get around. I would 100% stay here again.

What can I say? This place made us change our stay in Bali from 7 days to 9 days. The service is personable, friendly and accommodating. Food is always delicious and well curated. The facilities are fantastic. Our room had direct entry to the pool. We used the tour service which was reasonably priced two times We used the spa three times! It is a little more expensive than the high street but it is very clean with rooms that have Air Conditioning. Beautiful experience I’ll be bring my parents next year!

We have stayed here for the last 5 nights with our final night being tonight. The location is fantastic, being a 5 minute walk to the Monkey Forest, a short walk to central Ubud, and is surrounded by many amazing cafes and restaurants. All the staff are extremely kind and will go out of their way to accomodate any of your needs. The villa that we stayed in was exceptional, with an amazing 12m pool and beautiful spa bath tub - with the staff cleaning and resetting your room daily. The included breakfast is absolutely fantastic with many delicious options, seated on the third floor with a beautiful open outlook to the Monkey Forest and over Ubud. Would highly recommend Royal Kamuela to anybody wanting to be close to central Ubud, but tucked away in a peaceful and tranquil setting. Thank you so much to ALL of the staff for making this part of our trip so amazing!

I had the opportunity to stay at the Royal Kamuela in Bali and I must say that it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel at home right away. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with a traditional Balinese style, which creates a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with all the modern amenities you could want, including a comfortable bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a well-stocked minibar. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a rain shower and luxurious toiletries. One of the most enjoyable aspects of my stay was having direct access to the hotel's private pool. This exclusive feature was an ideal spot to unwind and rejuvenate after a day of exploring Bali. In terms of dining options, the hotel's restaurant served up some of the most delicious food I've ever had. The breakfast was particularly impressive, with a wide variety of both Western and Indonesian dishes on offer. I also had the pleasure of trying the restaurant's signature floating breakfast, which was an absolute delight. The location of the hotel is also worth mentioning, as it's situated in a quiet area of Ubud, away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas. This made for a peaceful and restful stay. Overall, I would highly recommend the Royal Kamuela to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing stay in Bali. The attention to detail, impeccable service, and beautiful surroundings all contribute to a truly unforgettable experience.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and booked our own villa and honeymoon package. It was an absolutely romantic and memorable experience. Our whole duration was smooth and comfortable, even when there was monkeys around which was a funny experience. The only thing that I would recommend is placing a slip mat on the outdoor showers as I slipped and fell but other than that, highly recommend this place!

What a fantastic place to stay! Located in the heart of Ubud, next to the Monkey Forest and main road where all local shops and restaurants/bars are. We had the villa which was a paradise! Highly recommended for couples! Be aware that there may be monkeys visiting the hotel so just keep your staff inside the room! We had no trouble and the little visitors were a nice touch to connect and appreciate the nature.

Absolutely totally recommend Royal kamuela suites and villas ! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are kept immaculate and are very spacious! The breakfast included in our room is hands down the best eggs Benedict I’ve eaten in Bali ! We will be back !

Fabulous experience. It was our first time in Indonesia. The hotel is very quite, with facilities surrounded by nature despite being in a lively street. From the villa you hear no noise. And in 5 min you are walking into Mobeky forest Road, full of restaurants, shops, close to temples and the famous monkey forest. The villa with private swimming pool was perfect. Very generous space with floor to ceiling windows with great curtains. The toilet was almost as big at the room, with bathtub and shower. All facing the swimming po The facilities were clean, new, very well taken care off. The staff is very helpful and it was easy to communicate with them in English. We used their drivers service 3 times. From the airport, for a day trip around Ubud and for half a day trip to the airport. The cars were I'm perfect condition. They included mineral water. The best was the drivers. They were very knowledgeable about the area and the culture. They were great guides which made a huge difference for our experience. The breakfast was delicious. The fresh fruit ball with granola and dragon fruit and the avocado on toast were my highlights. I would recommend it to anyone. We booked 10months in advance for a very good price.

Spent 1 night in this absolutely beautiful hotel. We were really sad we couldn’t spend longer. The staff were absolutely fabulous, 1 in particular stood out was Agus he was polite. Chatty and so helpful he is a credit to the hotel. We were treated like royalty and nothing was any trouble for them their attentiveness was second to none. The rooms. Pool and dining area with panoramic views were stunning. The double bath in the rooms are fantastic 😀 The food was out of this world, the location is spot on in ubud with bars restaurants and shops all around you and the monkey forest next door. I highly recommend this hotel and if I ever return to Bali this will be where I am staying.

Exceptional place with great service Royal Kamuela is among the best hotels I’ve ever visited. The management and staff are very friendly, proactive and professional The hotel is located in Ubud center, between Monkey forest and Ubud palace but is in a quiet place. The double swimming pool is amazing. The gym has all the necessary equipment Spa services (massage and sauna) are great The restaurant is one of the best on Bali. The food is delicious, large choice a la carte and for the breakfast. The cocktails at the bar are good too! Bonus: during our stay, the hotel organized a surprise cocktail party by the pool with a fire dance show - amazing! I sincerely enjoyed the time spent at Royal Kamuela and will make sure to come back during my next trip to Bali. I highly recommend it.

This hotel is fantastic. We stayed here as a group of 6 (3 couples) and it was an excellent set up for us. We had three rooms in a row overlooking the main pool and the staff treated us like royalty, even helping one of the couples chase down their missing luggage with the airline/airport. The room was nicely appointed with a decent size balcony and comfy bed, the a/c worked very well and the bathroom was large with two sinks. We also enjoyed using the nice gym (the only downside was no towels available) and having the lovely breakfast every morning. The location is also great for exploring central Ubud but surprisingly quiet as well. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Ubud!

Good villa, good breakfast, and good view. And they have wonderful staffs too. You can buy nasi jinggo as breakfast at warung just across the street. You can see monkeys roam around the villa at noon, just beware of your belonging especially food. The staffs there asks us not to feed them, because they’ll come again and again along with their packs.

Do not hesitate to choose this property when you stay in ubud. The staff is super friendly, you will feel like home. The villa is spacious, comfort, well maintained, lovely. The private pool is quite big and the jacuzzi is big, enough for 2 people at once. The villa is very close to sacred monkey forest, can be reached by walking. So, in the morning, there might be monkeys come to your villa looking for food, better to have your breakfast inside room. But the monkeys will not come down if there is no food outside. I had lovely 3 nights staying at royal kamuela, sure willing to come back.

A nice clean and welcoming hotel in Ubud! The staff is amazing, breakfast is top! Everything is very clean and spacious. Loved every moment of my time there. Another thing why I give you a 5 star is because you take care of the cats and kittens. Animal welfare should get better in Bali and you people are giving the right example! Please share the word with other hotels and don't forget the free sterilisation program at Villa Kitty or other animal welfare organisations. Hope to see you soon!

We stayed 7 nights in a pool villa (11) and would like to thank the wonderful staff for a truly memorable stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. The spacious villa and private courtyard complete with sparkling pool is well designed and perfectly maintained ensuring a relaxing luxurious stay. The daily visits from the local monkeys entertained us with their antics and always made us smile. We dined at Shrida restaurant each day and thoroughly enjoyed the extensive delicious high quality dishes. The restaurant and bar staff are particularly lovely and the nightly cultural entertainment was also a highlight. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel for outstanding service, luxurious villas and excellent location - a peaceful haven in the midst of everything Ubud has to offer. Thank you Royal Kameula for a wonderful week. David and John.
