Sri Bungalows, We enjoyed our stay at Sri Bungalows. The cottages are typically 2 rooms stacked above each other. The upper ones give a nice view over the rice paddies. They offered 3 classes of accomodation. We chose the middle of the road ones. The deluxe ones have glass windows on the front overlooking the paddies and glass windows on the rear overlooking the 2nd pool area next to a ravine. The hotel has two pools. The gardens are nicely kept. The garden bungalows are also nice but the older Balinese style with solid covered windows and doors so they seemed quite a bit darker inside. A 10 minute walk will get you into the entrance of the Monkey forrest. Shops are just outside the hotel entrance. Breakfast was included but a limited menu was offered, but not too objectionable and fresh. My daughters and my wife really liked staying there due to the peaceful sounds and atmosphere of the rice fields. The rooms were nice and airy. A safe was provided. The door locks and latches can be a bit tricky. We rented 2 rooms for 3 nights and would do it again. If you found this review and photos helpful for your travel plans, please click the like button.

I booked a room at the last minute and it was very impressed. The resort is quite large and there are 2 pools. Between some of the buildings is a large rice field, and if you are lucky enough to get a view of the back area as well you can see a forest area along the river as well as rice fields on the other side. The staff are very friendly and the location is great for some of the best restaurants in Ubud. I think I may have gotten the best room in the resort (see the video), and I can certainly vouch for the cleanliness and attention to detail.

Great hotel right un the middle of the busy street up from the monkey temple. However you are set back from the road in the rice paddies so it's so peaceful and tranquil great place to rest after the hecticnes of the main street. The gardens and pools are so lovely and such a nice place to relax. The breakfast is okay and there are loads of places to eat nearby walking distance. The spa is amazing too cheap massages but very professional. I would red hundreds stay here again.

I stayed at this location June 2022. I still tell and think about this place WEEKLY! This was my third trip to Bali and my FAVOURITE accommodation! Location: Fantastic! You are in the heart of Ubud. Take a left, you’re down at Monkey Forest. Take a right, it’ll bring you deeper to the town towards the markets and entertainment. Even though you are in the middle of the action, the property is so large, you CANNOT hear bikes or cars from the rooms. Property and Rooms: I was very lucky and grateful to have been upgrade to a suite after booking a superior room. When you first enter the hotel, you have the reception and restaurant. You then have a long and windy walk depending on where your bedrooms are. The first room types would be the superior rooms which have the first pool next to it. (Which always have towels). Then you come to a rice field and the rooms to the left are the deluxe rooms (which my bf stayed at in 2019 and says they were perfect and WiFi was decent). They are located between the two pool areas overlooking the fields. Then you have the suites. I was luckily enough to have a further away suite which was ground level (three different levels, lower level / down some stairs pool side, ground level or First floor (quite a few steps). My suite had a terrace to the front overlooking the rice fields with seating and a plug which was great for sunsets, and to the back a beautiful small balcony overlooking the large swimming pool area! It was so so beautiful and peaceful. The WiFi… not great at all! (There’s a Starbucks across the way from this location if you need somewhere to work). The beds were super grand and comfortable and I had an bathroom with shower/bath. Monkeys EVERYWHERE!!!! You will not need to go to the monkey forest if you stay here. Every single morning you meet families of monkeys relaxing, drinking out of the pool, sitting on the balcony, just living their little monkey lives. Great pool. So quiet. Lots of towels. I absolutely loved this location and the only fault I could pick was the WiFi (solo travelling so it was quite important). I really hope you make this your home away from home for your Ubud trip. There’s an ATM at the entrance, they can help plan excursions for you at reception, laundry service down the street (will update with name) restaurants and shops all just outside the property! Staff also were just absolutely wonderful!!!!!!

A very beautiful hotel and kind of unique with a rice Paddy field inside the hotel area, the experience is worth every penny, the room is also very nice with traditional bed and classical setup, amenities are provided. Another plus is the staffs, all of the are very polite and friendly, they will makes your stay even more comfortable, location is in the heart of Ubud, in short, it is a 6 star hotel, very recommended.

The resort is on the main road. But once you are inside the premises all the noise is absorbed by the greenery plants and rice fields. Quiet and serene. All the rooms have balcony whether it is ground floor or on the first floor. Great view. Relax to breathe in the freshness of the flowers. Monkey trouble is common but not during our stay. Soak into the resort facilities and enjoy

We stayed here for 7 days with 2 kids. Pros: right in the heart of ubud, amazing shops and cafes nearby, walking distance from palace and monkey forest, super friendly staff, amazing and large farmhouse villas, and great view of the paddy fields. Time literally stops in Ubud and you can really relax. Cons: breakfast could have been better, and the bathroom stinks. Both minor issues to be honest.. Overall highly recommended as a place to stay for families

Location is great if you’re exploring UBUD. Walkable to most cafes & restaurants. Cleanliness is acceptable. Hotel staffs are very friendly. Able to book scooter for 80k/ day. Location of your villa may be a bit of walk inside.

A beautiful view of the rice paddies. We liked the great pool and the constant guests in the form of monkeys. We did not like the staff chasing the monkeys with slingshots, please don't forget that you came to their house and destroyed it by building hotels, we can only be guests of nature and the forest. We were 16 days and I feel that eating the same thing for breakfast the whole time is not good for my health. Breakfast is meagre and monotonous if you stay long. The internet is terrible and only caused frustration, no TV connection. Basically all Deluxe rooms have old TV's which are of no value to foreigners. The staff are friendly and beautiful 😜

We really enjoyed our time at Sri Aksata Ubud. The facilities and common areas are beautiful, there’s 2 pools, amazing rice fields and the whole property is huge, you can’t tell from the street how big the resort is. The staff was great and happy to help at all times, they helped us with organising a scooter rental and also arranging a breakfast box for our check out day as we were leaving before breakfast hours. It is located within walking distance of the Monkey Forest and also the centre of Ubud. Wifi was good in our room, but the pools near the rice fields and the second pool don’t have good wifi. The provide umbrellas when it rains which is very helpful. We stayed for 7 nights and found breakfast a bit repetitive and boring. It’s just eggs and toasts with fruit, but I believe it needs sweet stuffs, cereals, pancakes, etc. The door of our room (Balinese style) didn’t close properly, so we were able to move rooms, however decided to move back as we needed the wifi.

Although it is only a 3 star hotel, and a little tired, it punches well above its weight. The staff are excellent and cannot do enough for you. Cleanliness is very good and the gardens are immaculate. Here for another 10days should really enjoy it

This resort is wonderful. The place is an oasis of tranquillity and calm in an incredibly busy area. Lovely breakfast and staff. Two pools and monkeys that hang around the pool during the day make this an ideal resort to stay in. The only negative would be the road outside, which at times is impossible to cross. The monkeys around the pool are great…but watch them, they are little thieves!

An inconspicuous place when looking at it from its small parking lot and reception area, quickly greeted by a rather spacious and peaceful resort once you have a walk along the path to the rooms, where the path was surrounded by rice fields. The room was quite spacious and kept clean; however, the Wi-Fi connection was on the slower side. The bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub. However, in the evening, the water from the shower took its time to heat up, whereas in the morning, the water was just cold. Breakfast was OK; there was nothing too special about it. However, what this resort had going for it was its serene view of the rice fields and the pool. There are also some monkeys that might pass by during the early morning hours, so, do keep your belongings safe.

Wonderful traditional Balinese looking buildings and two pools to boot. Rooms are clean and roomy with nice and spacious bathrooms and a powerful airconditioner. Staff is friendly and breakfast was fine. An added benefit is that the best restaurant of Ubud, Donna, is right across the street.

This is one of the worst properties I experienced in last 4-5 years... Room was completely in meshed up place and the staffs are really incompetent. They don't know how to deal with a customer. I waited for 8 hours and after that I got a room which is not fit to stay. Though they had a problem at the property there no way to complain or give a formal written complain. They don't even talk to you good way if you complain. - TV Does not work - WiFi is very poor - Cleanliness is very bad - The front desk staff is rude and very non cooperative Over it's not value for money and vacation friendly 😔 Please avoid if you have other options

The rooms are modern but so dirty. Mirrors, taps, corners of the floor, glass work, toilet everything is dirty. Matrass is old with many pits in it, it feels like a twenty years old matrass. We have multiple rooms and all rooms have these issues. It looks nice, but it is dirty. Too bad!

    - Staff great, pool(s) nice and cleanish, good location - Rooms are very dated, very depressingly dimly lit. Bathroom was dirty, looked ancient and not well maintained, had the smell of sewage as well.

Sri Bungalows were an absolute delight to stay. They were very spacious with a double and single bed in each of our rooms with plenty of space to move around and a huge bathroom. Swimming pool was lovely and the kids had heaps of fun splashing around. Venue has its own rice paddy fields with the bungalows located around it, and this was really beautiful and such a delight to be around. Good location on the main street with walking distance to the monkey forest and Ubud markets, and lots of little restaurants, massage and other places outside the door. Our favourite was Cafe Wayan across the road. Definately would stay here again as excellent value for money and friendly staff.

The location of it is great. Once you go out of the resort, you're on one of the main road of Ubud. That road runs parallel to the other main road which gets much busier. The resort itself is nice. They got a nice pool. Only thing I wish they could get a revamp, is the bathroom area. Also I can't remember the last time a resort had to open their room doors with a key.

Buyer beware: far too expensive for its merits. Definitely the worst hotel we had in whole Indonesia. The rooms are very dirty and obsolete: mold in the AC, old blood on the sheets, bathroom without warm water (even we were promised five times it would be fixed), stains in the curtains, unstable bed, spider webs on the lamps etc etc. The swimming pool is falling apart and the breakfast is mediocre at best. The only positive asset is the friendly and hard working staff. We tried to resolve this issues and got another room which was not any better. Any leniency pricewise at checkout was not possible. For half the money there are far better hotels in Ubud or elsewhere on Bali.

Love it this place, specially the pool area near the spa, great to see big families of monkeys hanging around, but at the same time so peaceful and perfect to relax. Breakfast was delicious too. Just in the Center but the rooms are so well located that you feel living Country side. The only thing I did not like was the burning everyday, imposible to stay in the room aor to dry clothes outside. Hope this práctico finish.

Very nice hotel restaurant in the heart of Ubud, quiet. It hides behind a cramped entrance and a crowded avenue, in the middle of the property there is a soothing rice field and two swimming pools. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and well-functioning shower. Standard welcome kit, efficient but no frills. Efficient and smiling staff ; breakfast a little fair and price of lively evenings a little high. Gare aux gorilles... Uh, beware the macaques that go up the avenue to glean food... and get chased by the staff at the slightest prank, especially on the swimming pool which runs along the river

Incredible place, right on the most noisy and busy street in central Ubud yet, one you step in you are in the calm charm of the countryside, rice fields and all. A bit expensive for what it offers, ok, but blame it to an overpriced city a,d this one's right in the central part of Ubud. Price but a good breakfast included would be right. The "second" swimming pool, all the way to the bottom, is a magical spot.

Sri Aksata Resort Ubud is a hidden gem! The resort's beauty is unmatched, nestled in the heart of Ubud's natural splendor. The staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable, and the overall experience is simply magical. A perfect retreat for those seeking serenity and charm. The resort's facilities are top-notch. The infinity pool overlooking the valley was a highlight of my stay. Relaxing by the poolside, enjoying a refreshing cocktail, and soaking in the breathtaking views was an experience I will cherish. The spa was another gem of the resort, offering a range of indulgent treatments that left me feeling rejuvenated and pampered.

Perfect location and great value. We're repeat customers. Right on Jalan Monkey Forest, but the rooms are set far back from the road, so it is extremely quiet. The suite is really only a big one bedroom but the balconies on each side (with different views) are nice. Great to watch to watch the rice grow at sunset. The bathroom is utilitarian and could be modernized, but the bedroom is clean and spacious.

The hotel is in a really good location. Close to the monkey forest and in the main street. However all the rooms are far for the main street. Good breakfast, the only bad thing was the wifi and the pressure of the water.

  • 2/5 Kevin 1 year ago on Google
In general it wasn't too bad here, it's quiet and has a nice garden. Most importantly our room didn't smell moldy. We had one of the brightest rooms, but I guess not all of them are nice and bright. However, for the price they charge I think it is too dirty. The blankets are multiple layers and just a mess and the Wifi did not work.

Central location, responsive staff and stunning views from the balcony. We stayed as a family in a deluxe suite and they gave us the one overlooking the 2nd swimming pool. What a treat! It's dead silent in the night. And in the morning except for the cackle of geese, rooster and chirping of birds there are no other sounds literally. Loved the setting in the rice field in the front. There are two pools so you can use either of it as convenient to your room location. Seems water is warm so you can dip in anytime of the day. My toddler got to try his new floating jacket so he was also thrilled. When I first arrived in the parking are I didn't have much expectation since this is my first visit to Bali. As they usured is into the backyard there was a whole new world of rice fields and open area. Blew my mind away. It's just few minutes walk to the central Ubud area or the main Street of Ubud. The monkey forest is just a stone's throw away. Don't forget to explore the small alleys along the main street. Wonderfully manicured and maintained. Oozes with art and hip culture. Breakfast was included with the room but only few options on the menu. No complaints since I tend to eat more if I see more options but you can still get hearty portion. Initially when I booked through Agoda I got an email from the hotel management mentioning that my toddler will not be included for free breakfast and will be charged extra for it. I was bit disappointed at first as they didn't explain that breakfast was not a buffet. It was an individual order. They could have done that in the mail for clarification. That was the only downside. You will surely enjoy the stay at this beautiful property.

Right in the centre of Monkey Forest Road in the heart of Ubud. Easy to get around the town surrounded by shops, hotels and restaurants. But the rooms are away from the busy streets, so you will get some peace and quiet when you rest. I stayed here for the weekend because of work. The room I was staying was quite spacious, big bed, clean and tidy. The bathroom is also quite spacious and clean. There was no tv in my room but it wasn't a big deal. You may feel it is a bit oudated, but it is designed following traditional Balinese style houses. It has a lovely view of the rice fields. The staff were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food was good as I had my meals here day and night.

They take care of you. You have a large room and patio that looks out to actively worked rice fields. Coffee was ready and waiting. Nice pools. Beautiful artwork everywhere: carved doors, statues everywhere(dressed and adorned with flowers each day). They listen well and respond once they have best solution. Of course we found great food, clothing and massages at unbelievable prices steps from this Hotel. Well worth staying a while and exploring!

I'll give 10 out of 5 stars for the workers. Love those friendly workers who always have smiley faces. The way they decorate the hotel with plants is also amazing . However, I'll give 4 out of 5 for the hygiene in the room since I can see lizards and insect corpses in the room 😨

Pros: - Right in the main road in Ubud, but once you get into the hotel it feels so tucked away. - We had a room with double glass doors overlooking the rice field which was beautiful. - The biggest pool area is lovely and relaxing. Beautiful scenery, and when we came in November we had the pool completely to ourselves with the hotel not being too busy. - Staff were helpful throughout our stay with 24hr reception. We rented a scooter through the hotel on one of the days. Cons: - Our bathroom was not joined to our bedroom. We had to go outside onto the balcony to get to the bathroom. Which not only felt like a lack of privacy when you’re paying for an en-suite, but also because it was to the outside there were sometimes bugs and a gecko in the bathroom! We didn’t ask to change as we’d already had an issue about wanting a double room when I think we’d accidentally booked a twin. This room was an ‘upgrade’. - It was pretty noisy in the room when the heavy rain comes. We’d had thunderstorms in other hotels which hadn’t kept us awake. Overall I’d still definitely recommend for the views and for the great price.

Wonderful and very centrally located. I had 4 wonderful nights at the hotel. Beatiful and luxurius room, fridge with water, really nice bathroom, good WIFI, breakfast included and the surroundings are fantastic. Two amazing pools and very relaxing atmosphere. It is right in the middle of Monkey Forest Rd. Looking forward to going back.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Family room was huge and comfortable. Paddy field in front of the room and river at the back. We had monkeys visiting us every morning too!

A really nice and quiet place to stay near the Monkey Sanctuary. Room is prepared lovely, the rice field is an elegant touch, the pool is nice, staff are courteous and friendly, breakfast is well served. Recommendable for a couple days stay.

Beautiful gardens, rice fields, and swimming pools. Rooms are nice if a little over priced. In the older rooms they need to improve the lighting and the bathrooms particularly the shower pressure. Wi Fi was slow and patchy at best. Didn't eat breakfast there as I believe it's not worth eating. It's a nice place, but there may be other, cheaper and better options out there.

Location of the hotel is very good. Their breakfast was very good. From the restaurant it is a 5 min walk towards the room. The pool was clean. Wifi was poor. Stuffs are not very friendly except the ones who serves in the restaurant. Overall its good for few nights stay.
