Generally a very poor stay in room 101. Given the good reviews, I looked forward to my stay however I would not recommend this hotel. It appears people’s good experiences were for the larger Villa/rooms. Positives: - Centre location, very quaint street with lots of good restaurants around - Pool appears well maintained Negatives: - Mouldy damp room, with lots of spots of mould - Bathroom smelt of sewage, staff came to “deal” with the issue by spraying deodoriser - Staff were unapologetic, and although we required adjustments which we asked prior to booking - they wanted extra $ - Air con was noisy and poorly operational

Excellent. Spacious rooms for the price and given it's a boutique hotel, with all modern-day amenities and fixtures with classy, elegant interiors. Everything worked. Spacious balcony, aesthetic pool surrounded by well-maintained flora. Excellent service - Prompt and always eager to help. The front office executives, housekeeping, restaurant - everything and everyone were ready to help and support in whichever manner required. One should choose this especially for the location. Just 30 steps or so away from the main road of Ubud. Close to the Saraswati Temple and Ubud Palace, and close to the souvenir market, all well-known restaurants of Ubud and more.

A little gem in Ubud! We booked this the night before arriving and my husband asked if they could do an arrangement on the bed for our honeymoon as a surprise and sure enough they did even with the short notice. The staff are lovely and there is the friendliest resident dog that loves pats and will chill with you on your balcony in your room, but he will also leave if you tell him too he is very well behaved :) The grounds and pool are beautiful and the rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the cafe had such a chill vibe, could easily spend the morning drinking coffee there. Our safe code didn't work but wasn't a huge deal for us the staff said they would fix it but we were only there for 2 nights so we didn't worry about it. Netflix on the tv was not very reliable but the YouTube app on the tv worked fine. The location is perfect! Could easily walk to everything in the centre of town. All in all would definitely stay here again for the price. Not flashy but comfortable and clean.

Very beautify gardens, friendly staff and a family feel. Excellent location as it is not far from the main streets but far enough away to be quiet and secluded. Breakfast was great too. Super good value for money. It will be my 'go to' now every time I stay in Ubud.

I stayed in a deluxe room, 119, it was secluded, quiet, and its own building. Amazing bathroom, except the roof leaks when it rains so put everything under the sink. The bed and pillow was great, med firm. Very central location, close to M Mart, late night food - which is important since I arrived after 9pm, and a short walk to the Monkey Sanctuary and other sites. Close to affordable spas for the rainy days. I would book this place again in a heart beat just for the room and location.

It's our first time staying here. The only good things about this place is its location, the friendliness of the staffs, and the resident dog (Kemal). We booked 2 rooms (102 and 103) for 1 night. Cleanliness of the room is doubted (floor was sticky in both room) and both rooms smell funny (damp). The bathroom floor is slippery, so watch out. The worst thing is the useless wifi. With that kind of unreliable and unstable wifi connection, they manage to put smart tv in our rooms, which of course becomes the most redundant thing.

I loved the room and the setting of the gardens was so peaceful even though it is a short distance to the shops and main streets. The pool area was pretty but the water was so cold that I didn't swim. The balcony between the rooms were very close and the guests next to me had party both nights. Otherwise it was very pleasant.

Such a pleasant surprise, I cannot recommend this place enough. So affordable (~45AUD/night on Agoda but I think there are better deals elsewhere) and it came with so many perks. The bathroom was freshly renovated with dark stone, big sink/bathtub, and one way mirror/bamboo roof; so you can see bits of your reflection at night and the sun light comes in heavily in the morning! Although our air con was leaking the staff were so helpful and accomodating. They cleaned up our room the moment we left for breakfast each day even though they were in the middle of cleaning someone else’s as they knew we’d come back shortly. There was always bottled water in the room and unlimited free access to it from the front desk. We had AMAZING kombucha welcome drinks on arrival that were UNFORGETTABLE (subtle hints of coconut water and apple cider vinegar, I wanted more and still think about it to this day). The accomodation was beautiful and don’t get me started on the included breakfast. I would stay here again just for the breakfast. You get free vouchers to a cafe next door called Pukako and it was to die for! (Will do another review for them as well since they deserve it). The food was amazing, and the coffee and juices were fresh and delicious too. All kinds of milk was available for the coffee with no extra charge as well. I would go all the way back to Ubud just for this cafe honestly without staying at the meruhdani aha. On top of this, they also have us 10% vouchers to the Japanese restaurant right at the front of the property, Ikigai. Also such an amazing establishment. Staff are so friendly and kind and food was incredible. Recommendations: Pukako: 1) Meruhdani Breakfast with fresh pineapple orange juice and an almond milk cappuccino. (I had this almost every morning and am still craving it to this day). 2) Pukako Pancakes (wow). These are oatmeal cinnamon banana and they taste INCREDIBLE. Best pancakes I’ve ever had in all my life, I will be trying to make them at home. Ikigai: 1) spicy tuna roll. Perfect fresh tuna with the most amazing level of spice, they’re better than any I’ve had 2) hawaii roll: mango with tuna and salmon and a bit of onion. Three words again: to. die. for. (Every table has a ponzu-esque sauce that compliments every dish! You must stay at the Meruhdani as it is the most affordable accomodation in the best location of town! It’s perpendicular to the main road with tons of great restaurants and parallel to the Ubud art market and Ubud market near the Saraswati temple. Lastly, the Meruhdani got us great bike rental for 85k a day where we went to every inch of Ubud. We had to get petrol but this was easy as the servo was just down the road and cost 1,600 IDR for a while tank (pertalite). Unfortunately the wifi isn’t great but since there’s wifi everywhere it’s not a big deal. We stuck to wifi at restaurants which was sufficient for us. This being the only downfall isn’t such a big dent in the framework of the amazing Meruhdani.

Clean, warm, nice staffs, clean room everyday. Extremely high breakfast quality, really delicious and delightful and it is all included in your room's booking. You can order 2 drinks for a morning there. They had a cute piggy dog there 😂

For its price, very good hotel, relatively central in Ubud. WiFi was not the best but passable. Rooms have smart TVs (which means you can cast from your phone and watch your own stuff). Beds comfortable, staff very friendly, nice swimming pool. Could do with a new lick of paint but not too shabby.

It was our first time staying in a private villa. We loved how secured it was that the spaces was all ours and people outside cannot access into our premises at all. Room was luxurious with large pool, free breakfast meal, great location in middle of Ubud city and most of all great price compared to its quality. Hotel manager and all staffs are extremely kind and willing to help upon your requests. Highly recommend this place for those who are looking for a place in Ubud and I’ll definitely stay this place again if I have any chance to visit Ubud next time!

A boutique hotel 5 minute walk from Saraswati Temple and Ubud art market. The hotel rooms are small but relatively comfortable. The bathrooms need a refurbishment though. Service as in almost every establishment in Bali, is very good. The hotel I believe also rents out scooters. There are tons and I mean it, of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, boutique stores, and travel agencies in and around the property. You can walk to Campuhan ridge,,Sweet Orange, Saraswati Temple and even Monkey Forest. If you’re looking for a budget friendly property in the heart of town, then this can be a good option.

1)Strategic location near city centre but away from the noise ,traffic and bustle. 2)Many restaurants ,shopping ,money changer ,massage nearby ,but not a single noise heard once you are in hotel and in the room. 3)I have a bad back and usually find many hotel beds unsuitable.Meruhdani has premium bedding .I had a very comfortable bed. 4) Breakfast package was at restaurant near hotel, excellent Western breakfast. 5)Strong wifi.Flexible with late checkout with no fees.quiet and comfortable. 6)Customer service is excellent. Manager Ms Tuya was helpfull in answering my questions even before I arrived to Bali. Her excellent customer service continued throughout my stay. The bookings done through her were reasonably priced..Tuya and her team were caring to our needs.

This is a little oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The location is great with Ubud Palace, Monkey forest and many spas, shops, bars and restaurants all within walking distance. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The whole place is spotlessly clean. Our rooms did have a slight damp smell but it was particularly humid at the time. The beds are very comfortable, the aircon is good and the showers had plenty of warm water. The pool area is beautiful, the pool was cold/refreshing after a hot day it definitely cools you down.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was central, what we wanted. The road was very busy but once inside the property it was tranquil. The pool was lovely, the grounds were looked after well, the staff were lovely and did their best. Our room had a very very bad smell as to why I rated it lower. I did let the staff know and they appeared concerned and helpful but i dont think there was anything they could do. I think it was like a rotten old water smell coming from the bathroom (shower)but impregnating the whole room..I ended up buying incense and burning them to disguise the smell. They put a new airfreshner in and sprayed airfreshner, but it didnt work as that wasnt the root of the smell. It was the bottom room second from reception. It actually made me feel sick. The breakfast was one of the best we had out of 7 places that we stayed. I still miss it. It was all delicious, apart from the coffee, but the juices were divine. I would return but not to that particular room. Our friends stayed in two rooms and neither had the smell.

I stayed here in August. Room was clean, Property was well maintained. Friendly staff. Cons: I have been to Bali before and stayed at few places with really good service so I am rating this property lower based on the service I got. I probably would have gave a higher rating if it was my first time and first place in Bali. 1. Washroom tub had stained and got plugged everytime we showered. It could use some TLC. 2. Less focused on providing service and more focused on how to suck money out of you. We wanted a car ride from our resort to another hotel literally 5 mins away drive, since it was a friends wedding and we had a child, we thought of taking the car would be easier with all the outfits we wore. Initially they were charging us ridiculous price, i brought it down to a lower price. Next day for a different event I asked for the car again, guess what? The charges quoted were even higher than the first day. I Lost it then. 3. Laundry Service for handful of clothes cost us 8 US dollars, I mean I do laundry in Canada for whole lot of clothes for much cheaper in my apartment building. I saw the sign outside for laundry saying they charge 50 cents per kilo, we definitely did not give them 8 kilos but maybe 1-2 kilo or less. 4. Breakfast was bad, I stayed in hotel where they would not charge for my daughter as she doesn't eat whole lot and is 5 years old. This place charged full amount for whatever breakfast we ordered. The food was tasteless, small amount and coffee was aweful! Also Breakfast unlike most places started at 8am instead of 6 or 7am. So if you are taking a tour that starts early, you will miss breakfast. I heard good things about this place's breakfast but believe me I have stayed in better places with much tastier breakfast. I was disappointed with my experience, there were many small other things I am not mentioning and letting go off.

Very friendly staff and a good furnishing of the rooms (refrigerator, air conditioning, TV). The room was clean. The ambience all around was very nice including pool and Balinese music in the background. The only small point of criticism is that the building is not well soundproofed to the outside and you just notice so much when outside the other guests talk to each other (especially with noisy guests).

Stayed here for two nights. Clean bedroom, nice pool with overhead fountains that give enough pressure for a neck massage (if you are tall enough). Very friendly and attentive staff who put in 100% effort. Shower could be fixed higher and have more water pressure. Bathtub has some minor stains. Internet consistency could be more stable - but it might be a general Ubud thing. Great breakfast from affiliate restaurant at the front, will garden and poolside dinning option. Romantic dinner package had a lovely set up. Prawn starter and fish mains were good. White wine and chocolate desert were not good. However staff asked whether we enjoyed our meal and seemingly waived the service/tax charge on hearing our feedback.

This is a quaint little hotel but very well situated in Ubud area. Everything was great about our stay but the lights in the room were dim and there were very few breakfast options as they served the breakfast in a cafe right outside of the hotel.

Great hotel with great service and very good location. It is located at the beginning of a block on the main street near Ubud Palace. The rooms are clean and well furnished. The pool is located in a beautiful garden with palm trees and flowers. The staff was constantly cleaning the common areas. Great place for budget accommodation in Ubud.

I really enjoyed my stay at Meruhdani. The location was perfect as it was super close to the main road and downtown but just removed enough to make it peaceful and quiet. The ground themselves were beautiful and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the rooms were. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and did their very best to make sure I had a pleasant stay.

Lovely hotel in the center of Ubud. Our room, on the ground floor adjacent to the shared swimming pool, was small but tastfully furnished and clean. Personel was very friendly and kept the place pristine. Also the place had the laziest and cudliest guard dog ever: a friendly Beagle called Camel. This surprisingly affordable hotel was one of our favorites during our travels in Indonesia!

Good location, nice staff, rooms ok. However, there was a somewhat musty smell in our room, and after some rain there our bathroom was wet as the roof was leaky. So we left after one night.

Really nice location to stay in central Ubud region, enjoyed our stay for 2 nights there, prices of room are little higher as compared to other near by hotels and home stays. But hotel was at really good location and pool was really nice, we got our room at 2nd floor so it was painful for getting to pool.

Room is clean but not comfortable. Hard to reach electric sockets. Shower in bathtub that is high and slippery to step in and out. Water stream is weak. Wi-Fi sucks.

I stayed at Merundani for 5 nights and the experience was quite comfortable. I landed quite late at night and there was someone to help me get my bags to the room & check me in. The rooms were absolutely clean, staff was helpful and there were no lizards to be seen so I was quite happy. Just one point that the towels seemed to be worn out - they were washed I could tell but not white in color, bit greyish maybe coz they were old. Overall great location and very pleased with the place.

We stayed at that hotel for 6 nights during December 19. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. Very polite staff, excellent services! The room was spacious, comfortable & spotless! The exterior was tidy & the pool very nice! The location was extremely nice. It is in the town but in a peaceful place. Recommended!

Had a great stay here. Room was nice, staff were friendly, and location was perfect - walking distance to anything we wanted to see in Ubud, but hidden enough that it wasn't noisy

Absolutely loved this hidden gem in Ubud. Amazing rooms! Spacious and the most comfy bed. We loved the pool and their little dog. The staff were so helpful and arranged our tours for us. This is in a great location. One of our favourite stays in SEA. Great shower. Thank you so much!

Very lovely family villa. The rooms are comfortable, the neighborhood is mostly quiet, and the surrounding area is close to central Ubud. It is much better than other villas in the area.
