9 Angels is nothing short of a 5 star experience. We came back time and time again because the other restaurants and cafés do not even compare when it comes to a true Indonesian meal (we eat out 3 times a day so we have tried a lot of Ubud eateries). The price can’t be beat. The many options available are delicious. They’re mostly vegan but there’s the occasional non-vegan dish available as well. Just ask. It was always open when we decided to return on random days at random times. The chef is super friendly with a great personality. The atmosphere is beautiful and romantic at night with the fairy lights. Need I say more? Put this on your bucket list.

A fully self service, pay by the scoop cafeteria, serving a great selection of delicious local Indonesian dishes, adapted for Western palettes and vegetarians. Very unique system where everything from serving, payment to cleaning and dish washing, is the responsibility of the customer. The owners were very welcoming and immediately explained the house rules, also plenty of parking for. Bring mosquito repellent though since its semi outdoors and located next to a pool.

Been here thrice during this visit to Bali. Located just close to junction of Jalan Hanoman and Jalan Sugriva, is not prominently visible from the street. Tucked inside the busy Road, this restaurant believes in customers.. to make their own dishes and replace them as well as to pay. This is a vegan restaurant with egg option and is budget friendly without compromising on hygiene and taste. Their yellow rice had a nice aroma which I will remember for a long time. I don't think I have rated 5 star for any restaurant so far but this one definitely deserves one. Highly recommended for Indian vegetarians and vegans in general

We came at dusk so many mosquitoes were around in the premise. Take mosquito spray. You have to get your own plate from the sink and take whatever you like. Calculate afterwards the cost of each spoon you took. Also wash your own plate after and put it back where you took it. Kind staff. We paid around 25 k per plate. Will come back when around.

Such an amazing place!!! Help yourself style vegan food. One scoop vegetable for only 5k. Rice is 10k. Dessert it 15k. My whole place is less than 50k. Everything is soooo delicious and fresh. You can tell that it’s super healthy as they use a lot of good ingredients and spices. It’s too good that I went back to get two more scoops.

An alternative warung with hippie vibe and amazing food. It's in the center of Ubud, but far from the noise and business of the main road, there are lots of flowers, trees and beautiful details. You can see the fresh veggies and fruits displayed, also the chef cooking the food in the open kitchen. They serve Indonesian and western food, mainly vegan, very balanced and cooked with flavorful herbs and spices. Everything I tried was amazing! And it's self service, so you choose your food, then you wash your dish and put your money in the jar. Very nice community feeling, and I can recommend it for people who look for cosy atmosphere and healthy food.

I ate here THREE TIMES it was so good! I was unsure about a buffet, but it was SO TASTY, and there is a selection of curry, vegetables, noodles, rice - anything you want! The tofu or tempeh curry were my favourite. It’s 10k per scoop of rice, 6k per scoop of everything else (vegetables, curry, tempeh etc.). Lots of nice people to chat to here, too. I saw people come and get a takeaway, in their own box.
