One of the few restaurant in Bali that you should try out! The ambience and the balinese infrastructures of the restaurant are refreshing and authentic - which in all honesty really brings out the best of this Balinese restaurant. For the price and the food portion, it is not bad. In the Nasi Campur we got 2 types of chicken (ayam betutu and some spicy chicken), there’s some minced green beans veggies, eggs (it was originally 1/2 of the whole egg, but because I ordered an extra egg so in the picture there’s 1 whole egg), some type of fried skin (I don’t know if it is pig or chicken skin), chicken satay, and fried peanuts. To be honest out all the “meat” on the Nasi Campur, I prefer the egg, chicken satay, and fried peanuts the most. The spicy chicken has less flavour than the ayam betutu - maybe even abit too dry and hard. While the ayam betutu was good but abit too oily for my liking. To be honest I would have given a 4/5 rating mainly because of the ambience and the pretty friendly waitress. Otherwise I would most likely give a 3/5 rating. Also another thing, their restrooms are abit dirty and old, I hope they’ll renovate it because the rest of infrastructure looks stunning!

Cool place, it makes you feel like you are enjoying your food in somebody's home. They don't have regular sambal, but a dry chili

Very beautiful restaurants with a lot of special seats (very special for a tourist like me!) The food is amazing, remember to tell them “less spicy” if you cannot take spicy food. It can get really hot! Great price, nice ambience, definitely recommend to anyone coming to Ubud!

If you want to eat halal food in bali, this is one of the best. They only serve chicken and duck. They have some branches in Bali with very nice view. The food taste is always yummie.

One of the authentic Balinese chicken rice. They always maintained the food taste and quality. The place is so convenient where it is typically of Balinese houses. Price is fine/affordable. Recommended.👍

It’s really an authentic Balinese foods, one plate with steam Rice, spicy chicken, sate lilit, vegetables and peanuts. It was added a yummy very hot and spicy Kare and the original sambal. For those who doesn’t eat spicy just let them know nasi without kuwah Kare and sambal then you Will get it on your taste. Just 2,8K for lunch is totally worth for everyone. Eating Balinese food in the Balinese house here you are👍👍👍

Ibu Mangku is a gem located on a busy thoroughfare. What looks like a normal eatery leads into a serene garden with a series of charming pavilions (which house most of their seating). The menu is small and revolves around rice sets - though you can order extra portions of the dishes featured in the sets. Nasi kedewatan is the specialty of the house (and area) and the “spesial” set features nasi putih (steamed white rice) accompanied by small portions of ayam betutu (chicken slow cooked in rich Balinese spices), ayam suir (shredded chicken dressed in Balinese spices), lawar (Balinese salad of cooked long beans, shredded coconut and mixed spices), sate lilit (grilled minced fish on a stick), gulai nangka ati ampela (young jackfruit and chicken liver curry), sambal embe (rather spicy sambal of fried chillies and onions), kacang goreng (deep fried peanuts), telur pindang (eggs boiled in spices), gorengan kulit ayam (deep fried chicken skin) and kuah ayam betutu (gravy from ayam betutu). We ordered a side of tempe goreng (deep fried fermented soybean chips) and lawar (extra veggies) to share, on top of a Nasi Kedewatan Spesial for each of us. The restaurant sells snacks near the counter and these can be purchased to eat at your table. It was a rainy day (light rain) and it felt a little chilly. Some hot drinks soon warmed us up and the food was quick to arrive. Everything tasted delicious. There were so many things on one plate that every mouthful tasted different. All the dishes were flavourful and the different textures (tender chicken, crispy skin and tempe, etc) gave so much to this one plate of food. Sitting at a low table on the floor in an open air pavilion with only one other (unoccupied) table made it feel private, yet visible to attentive staff. The peaceful atmosphere of the garden and Balinese ornaments/decorations in the pavilion and garden lent it a certain serenity that Bali just seems to have. I now know why Ibu Mangku is a Balinese institution and why this restaurant reportedly causes traffic jams along this road during lunchtime. 😁 Tldr Food: 👍👍👍👍👍 Atmosphere: 👍👍👍👍👍 Price: 👍👍👍👍👍 Service:👍👍👍👍👍 Review written in December 2022

The food had good flavor and a nice spice level. However, the food took quite a while to come out and when it finally did the entire thing was cold. I also understand that the restaurant is outdoors, but there was a rodent of some kind running along the top of the wall near the creepy paintings.

Super local super popular spot for nasi campur. There isn't much else on the menu and that doesn't matter because it's delicious. All the staff is so friendly. And the ginger tea is delicious. Lots of frozen desserts to pick from as well as lots of cracker options. Get there around 5pm to beat the rush. Street parking!

We tried this place as we saw it recommended on a YouTube video & it did not disappoint. We went for dinner & at the time it wasn't too busy, but it was filled with locals & few tourists. We had the Nasi Ayam special. It was very tasty & delicious. Just the right amount of spice & very flavourful. We also had the Es teller for dessert which was also very yummy & helps settle the spiciness. Service was quick, friendly & efficient. Reasonably priced. Its a very nice place with a very authentic feel. Highly recommend.

Despite taken dinner, we did not want to miss this nasi campur that was indeed awesome and mouthwatering. It definitely worth the calories! We ordered Nasi Ayam Kedewatan Special for taking away. The meal looked simple, but it was very delicious. The service was quite prompt. They also sell many snacks which look difficult to resist. Save your stomach for this nasi campur and snacks.

Wonderful atmosphere and a very good dish. What a perfect combination! This place is a must-visit restaurant in Bali. I would recommend others to visit this restaurant and try this Balinese cuisine: Nasi Campur Ayam.

Picturesque Balinese spicy chicken rice restaurant that actually tastes good. Like many other similar establishments, this one offers their rendition of "Nasi Campur" (mixed rice set) but with chicken instead of pork. There are 3 types of chicken served in the platter: curry, fried, and chilli stir fry. You can find other sidekicks such as lawar, innards, steamed tofu/egg, hard boiled egg, peanuts, and sambal. Their sambal that is made up of dried chilli packed a punch even for seasoned chilli eaters. If you have a big appetite you need to order double as the portion is small. The place was intricately decorated which was part of the draw for tourists, but fortunately the price was very affordable.

This is another of my journeys to find good nasi ayam in Bali. And Nasi Ayam Kedawetan Ibu Mangku is one of the best until now. Still mindful, well cooked, well served either the food, snacks, drink and of course the table and seats compared other nasi ayam which now very very crowded. The Nasi ayam is very tasty and balanced among it, good and fresh ingredient also. Will be back here when im visiting ubud next time. We also have chicken skin crackers (kerupuk kulit ayam), but not taking the picture. It also tastes very very tasty. Easy to park here also, they have designated parking area for your car. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5

I always stop by whenever I go to Ubud. An aromatic rice dish typical of Balinese cuisine, with contrasting flavours and textures. Set in a traditional Balinese family compound, this idyllic place is a dining experience to remember.

Great food recommended by my tour driver /guide. One of the best that I've had! Price is very reasonable. 40k for a serving. 15% tax will be incurred.

From the outside, it looks small, but when you go inside, it's surprisingly spacious, and it has a typical Balinese architectural style. I ordered Nasi Ayam pedas kedewatan spesial, which includes: rice, fried peanuts, urap (vegetables), ayam suwir pedas, stuffed fish, fried chicken skin, dried chili (I don't know), ayam suwir (yellow), half of a boiled egg, satay lilit, ayam goreng and kuwah betutu (wow, that's plenty) all for just 35k. And I added fried chicken, (which is a must) you can grab it in front of cashier there is a lot of snack. The taste is amazing – all the condiments blend in my mouth (crispiness and sweetness from the fried peanuts, spiciness from the dried chili, and savoriness from the urap and chicken). OMG, I love the satay lilit! 🫶 This is a place you must visit when you're in Bali.

Comfort food if you are sick of pork dishes. The food was tasty but nothing special. The highlight was, the place was sooo big and like a traditional Balinese houses. Good place for family.

Food, taste so good. Balinese taste spicy and very tasty. It only offer ayam betutu or chicken only. No pork, so i consider and no doubt that its halal. Atmosphere is very good, balinese traditional table+bali art ornament make its so cozy to dine in. Toilet is also very clean.

As many has reviewed, very good Balinese foods, worth the price. Really nice ambience, strong sense of local characteristics. The restrooms could have been better and cleaner. A little upgrade would be great.

Very delicious taste of Bali here, ayam betutu kind of dishes. Extremely beautiful setting. The restaurant owner family was even so nice to drive us back to Ubud center after we couldn’t get a taxi late in the evening…(!!) Incredible service!

Don't be deceived by the outer look of the restaurant. It might not look much but once you enter, it doesn't feel like a restaurant, but feels more like an entire traditional village since it's huge. Spent 30 mins or so to tour the whole restaurant. We ordered the signature menu and it really didn't disappoint. The Nasi Campur was a flavor bomb and definitely would visit this place again.

It's seems to be loved by locals, and the food is very delicious. I'm glad that they were kind enough to teach me as a tourist. The sour soup accentuates the quality of the dish.

Enjoying one of balinese signature meals with balinese vibes here! The balinese-style interior will make you feeling comfortable when had your meals. The staff serve us politely. Their nasi campur ayam was really tasteful with affordable price. This restaurant is also easy to find because it's located on the main road of Kedewatan area. The most important, this is halal food so all moslems can also enjoy it😍

Really love the atmosphere there!! I suggest you to come here in the morning, bcs not too crowded and you can choose your spot! (The spot near the fish pond is my favorite hehe). They have delicious nasi ayam and es kelapa muda jeruk! The staff are nice and friendly. Also, Don forget to try snacks such as claw crackers(?) They're so good! You can park your motorbike in front of the restaurant, and your car in the parking area inside💥

Great local spot. Special nasi campur with chicken for 55k! Unbeatable price for unique house flavor. Menu only has 5 items which makes decision making easy. Awesome low key dinner spot!

  • 5/5 Devan D. 1 year ago on Google
Authentic Balinese food that hit the spot! Far superior to any resort/restaurant food I've had at Bali, true taste of a 'home cooked meal' feeling. Would highly recommend any tourists to visit this spot!

👍 Ordinary food in a spectacular location, in the middle of rice paddy. The crispy duck is really crispy, a bit too dry. The sate lilit is delicious. The gurami goreng bit bland / tasteless. 👍 Prison is a nice space for breakfast and brunch. They make some pretty strong coffee so be careful! The miracle cure juice is really refreshing.
