We asked our driver who is a local from Ubud where is his favourite place to eat so he took us to Warung Janggar Ulam. This place was fantastic. Turning off the road you go past a furniture shop, to the back, then set amongst rice fields is this gem. The service was kind, welcoming and fast, they really made us welcome. The prices were fantastic and very affordable traditional food, with a broad range of favourites. A large range of seafood all fresh and cooked perfectly. The toilets were clean and had western options.

Great hidden gem of a restaurant (warung) with lots of parking and many tables overlooking fish ponds. Great atmosphere. Really good grilled duck (Bebek Bakar). Moist and well done but not dry. The ice mocha isn't good though. Guess they don't know how to make it here. The washroom aren't very clean. Even our public washroom at the villa is much cleaner. Overall, the price and value of the food was very good. We will be back again. Let's hope they have staff to clean the washroom regularly or post signs for male guests to keep it in the toilet bowl.

One of our favourite restaurants in Ubud! If you’re looking for local Indonesian cuisine that the locals enjoy, look no further! The views of the garden away from the main road made the ambience that much more enjoyable!

We tried Gurami bakar (grilled gurami fish with herbs). The meat was tender, easy to eat and goes really well with the sauce. We then added on the Gurami Nyat Nyat (Gurami fish in turmeric gravy). The sauce was quite spicy but super flavourful. It went really well with white rice. Overall, our main highlight of this meal was the Gurami fish. The Warung itself is huge. There are many seats scattered around the lotus pond. We went there for dinner so it was dark and we couldn't enjoy the view of the rice paddy. There are some flies/mosquitoes around but understandably so given the setting of this Warung

Delicious and affordable, Janggar Ulam is quite a hidden gem. The grilled fish was amazing, the plecing vegetables was not just a throwaway piece, and the fish in coconut milk was very very tasty. The place itself is very spacious and open air. The staff was nice and friendly, service could have been a tad faster but we went for a lazy lunch so it was perfect.

This place is authentic and has an extensive, local menu with every sort of Indonesian cuisine and beverage that you could ever imagine. Low prices, great views and delicious food accompanied by friendly service - great find

Food taste and presentation mediocre Price just enough as Warung Jangar Ulam title and not over price I Was there for diner on March 7 got table no 14 over looking to rice field. Level of service need to be improved, some how wait staff did not familiar enought for what said on the menus. The most their moveable are busy with their own servicing time and hardly to get them in for an extra service needed. At the end of diner, so I have to go to cashier station for paying bill and keeping me to wait long enough, were no one at the time for some reasons, can see that other staff tried to call and find her. In addition: Venue was great and easily to find and Intimate surrounding during evening

OMG! 😋 This should say enough but this place has really good food and the price is actually fair for what you get. Can't recommend it enough, really. Their Mie Goreng Ayam (Chicken fried noodles - 30000rp) has been my favourite in the whole Bali, and I tend to try it anytime I'm going to a new warung (my personal benchmark of sort). Plus, give a try to the Banana juice, simple and delicious 😋

The food was delicious! We tried a bunch of different mains and they were all excellent. The ambience is beautiful with sparse tables nestled in between lakes and greenery. It was not busy at all when we went. It might look closed from the outside but you have to drive in to see that it's open. The only problem was lots of people smoking at the tables around us so we had to breathe second hand smoke.

Love this place, must come of in ubud on holiday. Very spacious, Balinese owned and run, not greedy, has cooking classes, quiet and beautiful place

There were many large and speedy houseflies in addition to swamps of ants which made the experience difficult to enjoy. Place was not crowded so you could enjoy some peaceful moments while having your meal. Staff was polite and friendly.

One of the best warungs in Ubud. The food ,the ambience, the view, the vibe , everything was so good.

We had the grilled shrimp, fish and chicken leg. Also had a dragon fruit lassi and fresh coconut. Came out to about $20 CAD total. The fish has a lot of bone though… grilled shrimp had coconut flavour to it. It was soo good!! Grilled chicken leg also had coconut flavour.

This was was an absolute treat!!! Probably one of my favourite meals in Bali. Not to mention the seating area is beautiful & the service was great. Lots of vegetarian options!

Peaceful restaurant surrounded by lily ponds and fields 5 minutes drive from Ubud centre. Flavour rich foods nicely presented. Clean. Modest prices, not tourist. Plenty of parking. Recommended.

Came here with my family, looking for gazebo however the staff said they open only 3 gazebo because of limited staff. After negotiation with the staff she open another gazebo for us. Thank you for the great service! Can’t wait to comeback!

Delicious food! Came here twice during our 3 days stay in Ubud. Must try the Bebek Bakar (Grilled Duck) here, it's so tender. The Tempe Penyet was nice too. Becareful of the Iga Penyet (Squeezed Pork) though as it can be too spicy for non locals and the spiciness wasn't stated in the menu. Nice atmosphere and great service. Highly recommended!
